Race 1B (Caulfield) – 10:30 PM EDT on Friday, Aug. 29th

Race conditions:  7 furlongs at the  “BM 78”  level.  This is roughly equivalent to a non-winners one other than with a $25,000 claiming option here in the USA.

Not sure favorite Veuvelicious has a kind of turn of foot to win this race, plus she’s coming in off a very long layoff with only one official trail while carrying the top weight.

In her stead, I am going to select #4 AMICUS.  Comes out of a live race featuring Eloping and Ygritte in April, and as a closer she may run better at Caulfield than at Rosehill, which can be a very speed-favoring track.  Gets six pounds from the top weight.  5/1 ML.
