PARX  Race 4,  7 furlongs  Claiming $10,000 3L  (1:46 ET)
Best Value Play: #5 Fiery Gizzard (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #7 Solar Lady (5/2)
Other Contenders: #3 Great Illusion (12/1), #9 Miss Thursday (3/1)

Analysis: Solar Lady proved she belonged at this level with her previous victories. Although she is rising in conditions she is well rested and may have the speed to go coast to coast. Great Illusion has some back class to consider even if she has been stuck in this condition a while. A positive change in riders and a change of living quarters may do the trick. Miss Thursday was nabbed by a very good barn from her last, gets an excellent jock in the irons and takes the blinkers off. Fiery Gizzard cuts back from a route and sports a terrific resume. Claimed from last by a good barn and daughter of a Derby winner.

PARX  Race 5,  6 1/2 furlongs  Claiming $25,000 3L  (2:13 ET)
Best Value Play: #6 Hectors Pride (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #8 Que Facil (5/1)
Other Contenders: #4 Change of Seasons (4/1) #9 Prodigious (5/2)

Analysis: Que Facil went up to allowance conditions after being claimed. Now he comes back to the same level. His best race wins this one. Change of Seasons was claimed by a good trainer and returns to the same level. Navarro gets in the saddle and that is a positive sign. Prodigious posted a killer number for this level in last and was claimed by one of the better claiming barns on the east coast. Hectors Pride runs for Arroyo, who is deadly with fresh horses. He drops in class and puts the blinkers on and this one always take money at the windows.

Turfway  Race 2,  6 furlongs  Claiming $15,000 3L  (6:44 ET)
Best Value Play: #1 Scuppernong (12/1)
Most Likely Winner: #3 Lucy B (7/2)
Other Contenders: #5 Thunder Wit (3/1), #9 El of a Cat (4/1)

Analysis: Lucy B has speed and runs for a good barn. It is her first trip out of the Hoosier State but it looks like she has faced tough company all year. Thunder Wit fits at this level and should have a better record but some she has been affected by unfortunate trips. Versatile running style is a big plus. El of a Cat is a one dimensional runner and if the pace is hot up front she will come flying late. Scuppernong has a good trainer and she has delivered a couple of good races. It looks like she has the ability to run close or come from behind, and probably better than most think she will.

Turfway  Race 4,  5 1/2 furlongs  Claiming $5,000  (7:42 ET)
Best Value Play: #1 Souladar (20/1)
Most Likely Winner: #5 Thestarvingartist (7/2)
Other Contenders: #6 Validated Blarney (5/1) #7 Runaway Dan (6/1)

Analysis: Thestarvingartist has a great resume, loves polytrack and has the numbers to warrant favoritism. Validated Blarney is always in the mix and earns a lot of paychecks. He will come from off the pace and likes polytrack also. Runaway Dan can be dangerous if he delivers his best race. Hot recent work suggests he is ready after a rest. Souladar looks for win number thirteen and has speed. Some of his past races have come in tougher starter company and he is usually well bet.

Fair Gounds   Race 7   6 furlongs   Claiming $5,000   (5:23 ET)
Best Value Play: #3 Jenny Vignette (10/1)
Most Likely Winner: #8 Sassy Badger (6/1)
Other Contenders: #7 Gimme Yo Number (5/1), #10 Aunt Lois (3/1)

Analysis: Sassy Badger runs for one of the slickest trainers in history. If he doesn’t get you with a first layoff runner he will get you with a second layoff runner. A drop in class to her lowest level ever doesn’t hurt either. Gimme Yo Number almost always finishes in the better half of the field and she is always bet. Looks good in this field. Aunt Lois seems to like New Orleans and has been knocking on the door in her last five outings. Jenny Vignette was claimed by one of the old pros in Louisville last time and got a rest with the change of barns. A drop to the bottom here after a career of facing much tougher is a real attention getter.

Fair Grounds   Race 10   8 furlongs   Claiming $5,000   (6:50 ET)
Best Value Play: #9 Truckstop (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #7 First Bull Run (9/2)
Other Contenders: #6 Thunderstruckagain (6/1) #11 Dealer’s Etbauer (5/1)

Analysis: First Bull Run takes a nosedive in class after a couple of dismal efforts. Eramia stays in the saddle for a very good trainer. Can’t help but think he will get a better start and perform much better. Thunderstruckagain runs for a trainer that does well with back class drops. There’s no doubt that he is better that this level of competition. Dealer’s Etbauer has shown some promise when running outside of state company. His tactical speed and the outside post look to be an advantage in this one. Truckstop is interesting because he showed what a competitor he is in his maiden voyage. His last was at this level and he had a bad start but still ran close to the winner.

PARX   Race 4,   5 1/2 furlongs Claiming $7,500 2L   (1:46 ET)
Best Value Play: #10 Special Flyer (5/1)
Most Likely Winner: #9 Saratoga Woods (4/1)
Other Contenders: #7 Final Ritual (6/1), #8 Credo (8/1)

Analysis: Saratoga Woods takes another drop and has some decent figures compared to most of these. Final Ritual ran big one at this level last out and runs for one of the best barns at PARX. Credo came alive with a big effort in his last at this level and looks to be ready. Special Flyer has finished in the money twice at a level higher than today. His last two races posted some good numbers.

PARX   Race 7,   5 1/2 furlongs   Claiming $15,000 4L   (3:07 ET)
Best Value Play: #8 Condo Closing (15/1)
Most Likely Winner: #4 Papa Upa (2/1)
Other Contenders: #2 Blue Y Gold (4/1) #6 Pop Joe (9/2)

Analysis: Papa Upa looks to be the one that will control the pace and coming off a graded stake he may be hard to catch. Blue Y Gold has posted some good numbers and won his last. Runs for a trainer that does well with repeat winners. Pop Joe has seen much tougher in his life. Back to good form in the last couple of races and he may be ready to move upward again. Condo Closing faced rugged foes at Delaware and Oaklawn. Once this one rebounds he will be tough and today could be the day.

Turfway   Race 4,   6 1/2 furlongs   Optional $7,500 2L   (7:42 ET)
Best Value Play: #4 Ceresride (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #5 Cooper’s Keeper (7/2)
Other Contenders: #9 Justice Judy (3/1), #12 Poblanita (6/1)

Analysis: Cooper’s Keeper runs for a new barn, ships from Chicago, drops in class and likes polytrack. Sounds pretty good in this field. Justice Judy doesn’t like to have her picture taken, but she has 24 in the money finishes from 33 races. Can’t ignore. Poblanita ran well at Turfway last year and she is back to a level where she belongs. Ceresride gets a new barn, won last, has always been bet well and is coming back from a rest with a good work.

Turfway   Race 5,   5 1/2 furlongs   Claiming $5,000   (8:11 ET)
Best Value Play: #10 Our Noble Heart (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 Shut Up Chris (2/1)
Other Contenders: #4 Do I Do (7/2) #9 J. Pa (5/1)

Analysis: Shut Up Chris takes a drop off the layoff for Larry Demeritte and displays some good works in Lexington in the meantime. Usually bet well and if he is ready he should roll in this one. Do I Do gets the red hot Jimenez in the irons, has good works after a freshener and looks to be well placed. J. Pa goes for career win number 16, something you rarely see, and he won in his only effort at Turfway. Look who’s riding. Old horse, old jockey…sounds good to me. Our Noble Heart is another old warrior that is going for career victory number 11. Always bet heavily and one that tries hard, this old man can beat this bunch.

Fair Grounds   Race 7,   5 1/2 furlongs   Claiming $12,500 2L   (5:23 ET)
Best Value Play: #4 Yankee Cowboy (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #7 Lukie Joe (2/1)
Other Contenders: #3 Black N Gold (7/2), #6 Easter Gentleman (4/1)

Analysis: Lukie Joe showed some grit at this level against open company and he should be tough with these state breds. His only win came in New Orleans. Black N Gold ran some impressive maiden races at Evangeline, he drops in class after a freshener and has good works. Easter Gentleman runs for a barn with impressive numbers and he gets Albarado in the irons. Yankee Cowboy notched his sole victory at Fairgrounds. He comes in after a rest with good works and he drops in class.

Fair Grounds   Race 8,   5 1/2 furlongs Turf   Optional $40,000   (5:52 ET)
Best Value Play: #6 Fly Friendly Sky (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #7 American Sailor (4/1)
Other Contenders: #5 Ry’s the Man (9/2) #10 Doc Almon (9/2)

Analysis: American Sailor ran a big one in Louisville on the sod and comes to New Orleans looking for an early lead, and they may not catch him. Ry’s the Man ran a killer race against a tough allowance field in Lexington. He has worked steadily after a layoff and looks like a major player in this field. Doc Almon was claimed by Bourgeois in last and that sends up a signal, especially with this guy having eight career wins. Fly Friendly Sky runs for a good barn and he has faced tough foes on the lawn. His last work signals readiness.

Turfway   Race 1,   6 1/2 furlongs   Claiming $5,000  (6:15 ET)
Best Value Play: #3 Starship Captain (15/1)
Most Likely Winner: #11 Class Ready (4/1)
Other Contenders: #4 I’ll Show Them (8/1), #10 Salty Rim (3/1)

Analysis: Class Ready comes from a barn that has done well this year and this old pro seeks his 14th career win. There are not many like this one out there and he seems to be in good form. I’ll Show Them may do just that and he seeks his 15th career win. A former victor at Turfway looks to be ready and rested. Salty Rim has had a great year and his trainer does well in the shipping department. A drop in class helps this one. Starship Captain is a double digit man in terms of wins and battled tough company in the Keystone State. He runs for a new barn after a good freshening.

Turfway   Race 2,   6 furlongs   Claiming $5,000 2L   (6:44 ET)
Best Value Play: #9 Skipaway N Seattle (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #7 Persian King (3/1)
Other Contenders: #4 No Small Rewards (7/2) #5 Our Lucky Zip (4/1)

Analysis: Persian King may be the best of a lackluster bunch, ships in from the Mountain and has some speed. No Small Rewards comes from Louisville and drops in class with a barn that has done well in 2014. Our Lucky Zip just crossed the river from Ohio, and after a freshener, looks tough especially with a class drop. Skipaway N Seattle recorded his lone victory at Turfway and seems to like the polytrack. His last race looks to be a workout for another effort and this could be the day.

Churchill   Race 2,   6 Claiming   $50,000 2L  (1:08 ET)
Best Value Play: #8 Bordini (15/1)
Most Likely Winner: #4 How About Him (4/1)
Other Contenders: #1 Sound of Freedom (9/2), #7 Go Vo (3/1)

Analysis: How About Him is trained by the talented Chris Hartman, who got this gelding from Larry Jones. Ran well at this level in Lexington and comes back at the same tag, and this time he gets the hot Santana in the irons. Sound of Freedom is always bet and lost as the chalk in his last three efforts. Game and consistent, today he may just make all of the right sounds. Go Vo gets Leparoux on the drop from allowance company. He has never made a turnaround in ten days so his trainer must think he is fit. Bordini, at first glance, may look weaker than the others, but it appears that he may have been facing tougher for quite some time. Should be worth a few bucks if the price stays high.

Churchill   Race 9,   7 furlongs   Claiming $30,000 2L   (4:35 ET)
Best Value Play: #10 Apocalypse (15/1)
Most Likely Winner: #3 Jrock (7/2)
Other Contenders: #1 California Coast (4/1) #6 Robinwood (5/1)

Analysis: Jrock couldn’t get it done as a favorite in his last pair so he drops down a notch or two. Top jock Lanerie stays with him. California Coast has the eye catching connections of Asmussen and Santana. It will be the second race after Asmussen claimed him and that alone makes him more appealing. Robinwood doesn’t have a big name trainer but his breeding says 6-7 furlongs. He does get veteran Court in the saddle and this one could pop the gate and be a winning escort for the others. Apocalypse has turned his life around after he was claimed by Hartman. This one is improving and a sparkling performance should be forthcoming.

Woodbine   Race 4,   6 1/2 furlongs   Claiming $12,500 3L   (2:34 ET)
Best Value Play: #3 Lennon (10/1)
Most Likely Winner: #8 Atypical (5/2)
Other Contenders: #1 Sorokolitis (6/1), #4 Conspire (3/1)

Analysis: Atypical takes a nosedive in class for Sid Attard who is probably looking for an easy win before the end of the meet. Back class and big numbers make this gelding look tough. Sorokolitis doesn’t pose for the picture often but if he is in the mood and has his late kick things can get interesting. Conspire had a big race last time and was claimed by Fournier who does well with new barn tenants. Da Silva gets on board. Lennon finally gets some class relief and has some speed. A good effort and this one can win.

Woodbine  Race 5,  6 1/2 furlongs  Claiming $12,500  (3:07 ET)
Best Value Play: #3 Gary’s Cashews (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #4 Howdoyoulikethat (2/1)
Other Contenders: #5 Boggie (4/1) #Lady Diba (3/1)

Analysis: Howdoyoulikethat looks to be the best of the bunch and runs for DiPasquale. Stein is his man and he gets in the saddle. Boggie has back class and now drops again. Major jock switch going to Contreras. Lady Diba takes a drop like the other good ones in here and she has shown some speed on occasion. Gary’s Cashews is lightly raced for an excellent trainer and he posted a big number in his maiden voyage. His last race showed he fits at this level and this one should be ready to step up.

PARX   Race 6,   6 furlongs   Optional $16,000   (2:40 ET)
Best Value Play: #6 Miss Amalita (5/1)
Most Likely Winner: #8 Saturday Storms (5/2)
Other Contenders: #3 Terri’s Pass (6/1), #10 Indy Breeze (4/1)

Analysis: Saturday Storms was claimed last out and should take his excellent form to his new residence. This is a tough filly that fits well at this level. Terri’s Pass has good early speed and drops from allowance company into a mid –level claimer. Indy Breeze was claimed by the highly talented Jamie Ness, who gave him a rest and brings him back at a lower level. Miss Amalita was claimed by the very dangerous Michael Pino, and has recorded several races that will make her a winner here.

PARX   Race 7,   5 1/2   furlongs   Allowance 1X  (3:07 ET)
Best Value Play: #9 Amaman (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 Ameridude (7/2)
Other Contenders: #4 Prodigious (5/2) #8 Think Big (5/1)

Analysis: Ameridude moves from open company to state allowance with some good numbers and a good resume. Prodigious was claimed out of the Del Mar meeting and shows up in the City of Brotherly Love. He clearly faced better out west and a good effort here makes him a winner. Think Big could be the pacesetter and he runs for Pino. A soft opening quarter and he may be hard to catch. Amaman comes out of open company and once recorded a big number in a state race like this one. It looks like Vaz can give him a close up stalking trip from the outside.
