Race #8 – G1 Champagne – 1 mile on the main – 4:13 pm ET Selections = #1 – Cowboy Karma / #8 – Aveenu Malcainu / #12 – Firenze Fire

#1 – Cowboy Karma = Son of Kodiak Cowboy exits the G3 Sapling as the beaten favorite for the Larry Jones barn. Draws the rail and owns a bullet work after this fast closing effort for second money. Alex Cintron in the irons and the move up in class looks to be the next logical level. He has a solid late kick and should get a ground-saving trip along the rail. #8 – Aveenu Malcainu = He is 2/2 with wins and is a son of Into Mischief. Jeremiah Englehart is the conditioner and has a perfect stalking style. He’s been traveling at a sprint distance and the added ground may be a welcome addition to the day. The bullet work at Belmont signals readiness. #12 – Firenze Fire = Colt from the Jason Servis barn and was two-in-a-row going into the G1 Hopeful. It may have been a clunker and is worth tossing out as a race to measure his ability. Going two turns should have him closer to the pace as a measured stalker.

Race #10 – The G1 Jockey Gold Cup – 1 1/4 mile on the main – 5:23 pm ET Selections = #7 – Keen Ice / #5 – Rally Cry / #6 – Destin

#7 – Keen Ice = Son of Curlin who exits the G1 Whitney and had an eventful trip stumbling at the break and still managed to make a solid run finishing 2nd to Gun Runner. Jose Ortiz for Todd Pletcher and they are 3/3 ITM over the deep Belmont oval. He is 3/8 ITM at the distance and two back won the G2 Suburban going 1 1/4. #5 – Rally Cry = Son of Uncle Mo for the Todd Pletcher barn. A Very solid colt who brings his best every race. He is 3/4 ITM at Belmont. John Velasquez in the saddle and they are winning at a 27% clip. #6 – Destin = Luis Saez for Pletcher and the “Todd Squad” are coming loaded into this race. 3/3 ITM at Belmont and offers up an up-close style that may be effective going 1 1/4.



Race #5 – The G1 First Lady – 1 mile on the turf – 4:35 pm ET Selections = #6 – Dickinson / #3 – Dona Bruja / #4 – Roca Roja

#6 – Dickinson = Paco Lopez in the irons for Kiaran McLaughlin and is 1/1 at Keeneland winning the G1 Jenny Wiley. Lopez is a very underrated rider and they cut back from 1 1/16 on the turf. #3 – Dona Bruja = Declan Cannon in the saddle and has been on fire since shipping in from Argentina. She cuts back from 1 3/16 and should be an effective closer on the lush greensward lawn at Keeneland. #4 – Roca Roja = Chad Brown trainee and she makes her second start off the layoff. She is 8/10 ITM on the grass and is a solid closer who will be rolling down the lane.

Race #8 – The G1 Breeders’ Futurity – 1 1/16 – 5:10 pm ET Selections = #4 – Ten City / #7 – Givemeaminit / # 9 – Free Drop Billy

#4 – Ten City = Corey Lanerie picks up for the mount for Ken McPeek. – The trainer said early on this was one of the most talented runners he has trained. He broke his maiden at Keeneland and has two tuff races running into trouble. He owns a bullet work coming in and should be the major player. #7 – Givemeaminit = Dallas Stewart trainee who is a maiden, and a son of LA-bred Star Guitar. His effort in the G1 Hopeful was better than appears as he was bumped soundly. #9 – Free Drop Billy = This son of Union rags for the Romans barn is getting better with every race. He has a strong late kick and owns a bullet work to signal readiness. He can very easily take this race but may need a little pace to run down.

Race #9 – The G1 Shadwell Mile – 1 mile on the turf – 5:45 pm ET Selections = #7 – Mondialiste / #8 – Miss Temple City / #12 – Offering Plan

#7 – Mondialiste = Fergal Lynch for David O’Meara. This son of Galileo has been knocking heads with some Euro tough guys. He rallied strongly at Woodbine and gets 2nd time Lasix. He’ll come calling down the stretch. #8 – Miss Temple City = Solid filly by Temple City who is 4/4 ITM at Kee. She comes in off a nice prep win at Kentucky Downs and should be ready to do battle on a track she loves. Graham Motion knows how to bring them ready and she’ll give them fits. #12 – Offering Plan = New York-bred from the Chad Brown who could make some big noise this day. He is making his 3rd start off the layoff and has a devasting late kick.
