Churchill    Race 4 (12:05 ET)   7 Furlongs

Optional Claiming $75,000 1X – F&M

Best Value Play: #4 Queen Negwer (8/1)

Most Likely Winner: #7 Magical Moon (3/1)

Other Contenders: #1 Sweet Shirley Mae (5/2), #3 Speedinthruthecity (7/2), #8 Love Train (6/1)

Analysis: Magical Moon has Grade One experience and just missed taking a Grade Two. Key rider change to Gomez makes this one hard to ignore. Sweet Shirley Mae has the Wesley Ward factor and a string of good works after a freshener. Speedinthruthecity is a good filly trying to find her best stride, and her last race suggests she may have found it. Love Train is lightly raced but both of her races were impressive, and her works say she is sharp. Queen Negwer may be a price but her speed figs tell us she made a career turnaround in her last two outings.

Churchill    Race 8  (3:02 ET)  7 Furlongs    Grade Three

Best Value Play: #8 Gold Medal Dancer (15/1)

Most Likely Winner: #9 So Many Ways (6/1)

Other Contenders: #14 Calistoga (7/2), #2 Fusaichiswonderful (9/2), #3 Blueeyesintherein (8/1)

Analysis: So Many Ways is the only Grade One winner in the field and that came at today’s distance. A pair of good works at Churchill signals her readiness. Calistoga ships in from Gulfstream undefeated with trainer Bill Mott and the hot Joel Rosario in the irons plus strong works. Fusaichiswonderful has won six times and trainer Todd Pletcher looks to have her ready. Blueeyesintherein has never been beat and won a Grade Two over the Louisville strip last year. Gold Medal Dancer is well bred, never been beat and zipped a bullet work at Churchill last week. Capable of a cyclonic finish to win this one.
