Woodbine, Race 1 1 1/16 miles Claiming $20,000 (11:50 ET)
Best Value Play: #6 Stunning in Red (15/1)
Most Likely Winner: #4 Mistress Gallop (7/5)
Other Contenders: #2 Yes It’s Red (4/1), #7 Moonrite (6/1)
Analysis: Mistress Gallop seeks a repeat and jumps to a tag where she has past success. The mare also runs for a jockey/trainer combo that has been red hot this season. Yes It’s Red may get the lead and control the pace. She could take the mall the way if the chalk misfires. A recent maiden breaker jumps in class but not as much as it may seem since she competed well at a higher tag in the maiden ranks, plus the stretch out should suit her well. Stunning in Red may be overlooked in here but shouldn’t be. She shows enough back class in some of her races that make her a threat.
Woodbine, Race 9 6 furlongs Claiming $8,000 (3:50 ET)
Best Value Play: #1 Locally Made (12/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 Mia’s Rocket (8/1)
Other Contenders: #5 Bet On Jack (6/1) #10 Old Blue Eyes (12/1)
Analysis: A tough race with so many question marks about a large number of runners in the field. This could be one of those races where you bet several to win because of appealing odds. Mia’s Rocket is running where he belongs in terms of distance and class. Last race says he is ready. Bet On Jack is also at the right place at the right time and will be tough if he can settle several lengths off the pace. Old Blue Eyes has a lot of plus signs next to his name and he is the most capable of the real big race. Locally Made beat several of these last year and may be reading after being claimed and laid off. He should not draw attention due to the connections.
