Woodbine Race 4, 7 furlongs Claiming $8,000 (2:24 ET)
Best Value Play: # 1 Brew Blessings (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 The Queen’s Reign (3/1)
Other Contenders: #4 Strawberry Scarlett (7/2), #6 Tapia (4/1)
Analysis: The Queen’s Reign has a good record, runs for a very successful combo, takes a drop and is prime for a second time layoff win. Strawberry Scarlett actually bested the Queen once before, takes a drop and gets some weight off. She is capable of the upset. Tapia comes back from the Fort and does not like polytrack, however, to leave her out of exotics would be a mistake. Brew Blessings has faced much tougher and drops again after picking up a win. She could be an attractive price when they leave the gate.
Woodbine Race 6, 7 furlongs turf Claiming $40,000 2L (3:24 ET)
Best Value Play: #8 Double Guns Girl (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #4 Morning Has Broken (3/1)
Other Contenders: #7 English Holiday (9/2) #11 Movision (7/2)
Analysis: Morning Has Broken looks to have an edge in the consistency department and runs for the high percentage Banach barn. English Holiday is one of a pair that trainer Mark Casse sends out. She comes off her maiden win and ran a good race on the turf at Keeneland against tougher. Movision is the other Casse filly that ran poorly in last, but she ran well on the turf in Chicago and may be the controlling pace. Double Guns Girl runs for Hall of Famer Roger Attfield with the top Toronto jock in Da Silva. She is bred for the lawn, drops in class for first time claim and fired a bullet last week in preparation for this…impossible to believe this morning line will stand up.
