Woodbine Race 4, 7 furlongs Claiming $8,000 (1:26 ET)
Best Value Play: #9 Grapes (10/1)
Most Likely Winner: #10 Delaforce (5/2)
Other Contenders: #1 Mia’s Rocket (3/1), #6 Rainbow’s Best (4/1)
Analysis: In a race for old warriors Delaforce certainly belongs being one of the toughest in Toronto. He has hit the board in 30 of 53 efforts, has a big gun aboard with Da Silva, comes from a high percentage barn and draws the outside post where he can stalk. Mia’s Rocket looks to be in top form and last time finished just a length behind the claiming monster known as Hank’s Hill. Rainbow’s Best will probably be underestimated here. Trainer W.V. Armata is known to strike when he lays them off for 5 weeks and then comes back with a sizzling work a few days before race day. Grapes is a tough one to figure, but he is liable to wake up at any time. One thing for sure…he thrives at this distance.
Woodbine Race 9, 6 1/2 furlongs Allowance 2L (4:06 ET)
Best Value Play: #1 Executive Shopper (10/1)
Most Likely Winner: #4 Regal Warning (3/1)
Other Contenders: #4 Celtic Spirit (6/1) #14 Canuspellpatience (4/1)
Analysis: Regal Warning has shown the best promise of this bunch that seeks their second win and sports some good speed figures that make him attractive. Celtic Spirit comes from the dangerous Doyle barn on a second layoff attempt. The turf to main track move is appealing for this one. Canuspellpatience may be the favorite and has blistering early speed. If not compromised early he could take them all the way home. Executive Shopper runs for what has been a hot combo historically and gets the blinkers off. Even though he is on the rail, he looks to have the speed to be out front of the group to his immediate right and get position to stalk. Finished only a half length back of Regal Warning last out.
