Gulfstream Race 2, 6 furlongs Claiming $10,000 3L (1:45 ET)
Best Value Play: #1 Spiro Tune (15/1)
Most Likely Winner: #4 Large Kaufy (9/5)
Other Contenders: #2 D K Edge (2/1), #3 Smart Humor (4/1)
Analysis: Large Kaufy has the speed figures, can stay close to the front and should be primed and ready with the turn back to a sprint. D K Edge wins last out in this condition so his qualifications cannot be questioned. Smart Humor finished ahead of D K Edge in his last and has some excellent works in preparation for his return. Spiro Tune is out of conditions and looking for a spot. The big class drop he gets today may be exactly what he wants.
Gulfstream Race 3, 6 furlongs Claiming $16,000 2L (2:15 ET)
Best Value Play: #3 Sainted Dancer (15/1)
Most Likely Winner: #5 Desirable Lady (2/1)
Other Contenders: #1 Aunt Anna (4/1) #7 Guayana (9/5)
Analysis: Desirable Lady takes the drop off the freshener and fired a bullet work the other day to warn her foes. Aunt Anna also drops from a long layoff, goes back to the main track and shortens up. Trainer Dwoskin has her execute 4 good works at 7 days apart and that suggests she is a go. Guayana could be the favorite off the claim also turns back and switches surfaces. Trainer Ziadie had her before so he probably knows what it takes to get a win. Sainted Dancer had a lot of potential as a 3 year old but apparently took an extended leave of absence to find himself. He is dangerous with a class drop and obvious speed from the gate.
