Keeneland    Race 3,    7 furlongs Starter $5,000 (2:09 ET)

Best Value Play: #8 Bold Tap  (12/1)

Most Likely Winner: #2 Quite Explosive  (5/1)

Other Contenders: #9 Platinum Blue (9/2), #11 Islet (5/2)

Analysis: Quite Explosive was claimed for the starter amount at Monmouth and comes in to Lexington with solid preparations for a barn that does well with their claims. Platinum Blue has faced state breds north of the Kentucky border but has a good record and consistent speed figures. Islet could be the favorite and will flash some zip from the gate. Hot work in Louisville shows she is ready. Bold Tap may not look like much, but if she has another good race in her you may see it here. Those starter races at Churchill in which she participated are normally tough.

Keeneland  Race 8,   6 1/2 furlongs  Allowance 1X (4:49 ET)

Best Value Play: #3 Sandbar (6/1)

Most Likely Winner: #6 Pablo Del Monte (3/1)

Other Contenders: #1 Cool Cowboy (7/2), #4 High Roll (9/2)

Analysis: Pablo Del Monte broke his maiden at Keeneland at the Spring Meet. He is a two year old that runs for Wesley Ward with strong works. That’s probably enough information. Cool Cowboy sports the best name of the bunch, has been favored in both his races and set the track on fire in Chicago his last outing. High Roll is another favored both times out of the gate, gets blinkers today, and is another coming from a good Chicago barn. Sandbar could be completely ignored. One of the best trainers ever is trying to find the right place for his gelding, a son of the great sire War Pass. At some point he will win big for his connections and today could be the day.
