Keeneland Race 2, 7 furlongs $10,000 (1:31 ET)
Best Value Play: #10 Grace’s Devil (15/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 Runaway Pepper (3/1)
Other Contenders: #6 Frisco Exsecutive (9/2), #12 Pure Sovereignty (4/1)
Analysis: Runaway Pepper runs for a new barn and for an owner that does well in the claiming game. Second race after a break and he looks ready. Frisco Exsecutive has faced much tougher for a long time and this could be the day when he finds his softest spot since spring. Pure Sovereignty has an excellent win record and has performed very well in or near this level on multiple occasions. Grace’s Devil has a good overall record and a good record on artificial surfaces. May look outgunned at first glance but his best effort may serve as the surprise of the day.
Keeneland Race 4, 7 furlongs Claiming $25,000 (2:41 ET)
Best Value Play: #10 Pistoria (12/1)
Most Likely Winner: #11 Seans Silverdancer (4/1)
Other Contenders: #6 Holiday Broad (7/2) #8 Rattlin Gypsy (4/1)
Analysis: Seans Silverdancer runs for Catalano, second race after a freshener, has a good artificial surface record and has spent the last couple of years facing tougher. Holiday Broad is another for the Maker/Ramsey duo and cannot be overlooked especially being claimed last out. Rattlin Gypsy runs for a new barn, has run at this level or higher in Chicago and Louisville and had a hot work recently. Pistoria runs for Maker but is not owned by the Ramseys, which adds to the intrigue. It is doubtful Maker would run her if she didn’t have a good chance and take note of the good work at Turfway a few days ago.
