  Keeneland     Race 5   (3:09 ET)  6 Furlongs

 Optional Claiming 3X $80,000

Best Value Play: # 7 Que Posse (8/1)

Most Likely Winner: #8 Ghost Is Clear (7/2)

Other Contenders: #2 Hamiltonian (3/1), #3 Summer Breezing (5/2), #1 Joes Blazing Aaron (3/1)

Analysis: It’s hard not hard to see Ghost Is Clear coming from off the pace to win this one. Record setting trainer Mike Maker replaces the jock with his main Keeneland accomplice and it turns out that Maker owns this horse. Hamiltonian and Summer Breezing are top horses that cannot be ignored even though they could kill each other in a speed duel. Joes Blazing Aaron has a lot of class even though he usually runs longer. The only mount for rider Rosemary Homeister comes on Que Posse the gelding without the usual high profile Keeneland connections. It wasn’t that long ago that this stalker was favored over Ghost is Clear.

Keeneland     Race 6  (3:40 ET)  about 7 Furlongs

 Starter Allowance $20,000

Best Value Play:  #3 Credit Crunch (6/1)

Most Likely Winner: #2 Brandy’s Secret (8/5)

Other Contenders: #8 Monono (6/1), #10 Blues and Silvers (5/1), #4 Bandi’s Gal (10/1)

Analysis: Brandy’s Secret can win on the lead or by stalking and has faced tough starter company in Florida, plus she has Mike Maker. Monono has come close in stakes races in New Orleans in her last three outings. Blues and Silvers, another Maker horse, is a threat with her speed and knows how to win. Bandi’s Gal could get a perfect trip and gets a class drop. Credit Crunch showed she is ready with the rapid closing effort in her last race, which is a good prep for today’s starter race. She has the credentials to pull off a surprise and loves polytrack.
