Gulfstream   Race 1,   5 1/2 furlongs  Claiming $20,000 (12:40 ET)

Best Value Play: #3 Coosada (6/1)

Most Likely Winner: #2 Chief Carlson (4/1)

Other Contenders: #6 Kanavayen (3/1), #7 Grand Jetsetter (5/2)

Analysis: Chief Carlson is probably ready to pop with a little drop in class and Lopez aboard. His impressive record helps him stand out in this field. Kanavayen runs second time off a rest and second time off the claim for trainer Kirk Ziadia, which may spell trouble for the others. Grand Jetsetter is still improving and should get a good stalking trip from the outside or even be the pacesetter. Coosada is a tough old pro that will take the blinkers off and will be a late threat if he gets a pace to target.

Gulfstream  Race 4,   6 1/2 furlongs  Claiming $6,250 (2:07 ET)

Best Value Play: #6 Chepstow (10/1)

Most Likely Winner: #9 Dubh (5/2)

Other Contenders: #3 Put It Back Tiger (3/1) #8 Cross Hammers (6/1)

Analysis: Dubh may not have the best name in the world but he will beat these if he is ready, and trainer Ziadie does well with rested horses. Put It Back Tiger may have a problem getting photographed but it is hard to discount him since he hits the board so frequently. Cross Hammers shipped from Louisville and the drop helped a little, but another drop into this one may be exactly what he needs. Chepstow keeps trying to find the right formula. His only win came at a similar distance and he ran well on the dirt before. Possible shot.
