Fairgrounds Race 1, 6 furlongs Claiming $5,000 (2:00 ET)
Best Value Play: #3 Razmataz (5/1)
Most Likely Winner: #4 Highroller Dave (9/5)
Other Contenders: #1 Toro Bravo (4/1), #6 Concho Halo (3/1)
Analysis: Highroller Dave is, on paper, the one to beat. Should be odds-on despite several question marks about his entry in this race. If he is healthy then he should win with ease. Toro Bravo always attracts money and has done so at higher levels. Drops today and Mena remains with him. Concho Halo is an interesting entry. First layoff for a good trainer, gets blinkers, gets Rosie and seems to be a hard knocker that keeps running. Razmataz may be completely overlooked but notice how this one stalks from a forward position, has put up good numbers and loves Fairgrounds.
Fair Grounds Race 7, 6 furlongs Optional Claiming $35,000 4L (4:53 ET)
Best Value Play: #2 Mars Curiosity (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #8 Foreign Production (4/1)
Other Contenders: #5 Easy Jazz (5/1) #7 Patrykus (3/1)
Analysis: Foreign Production drops in from a stakes race and runs for a trainer that has been on fire. Some of his big speed numbers look awful appealing. Easy Jazz visits the Big Easy and sports a terrific career record. Looks like he fits with these. Patrykus makes a surface switch, cuts back to a sprint, takes a drop and his trainer is tough with second layoff runners. Mars Curiosity may be a question mark but the improving young gelding is trained by Roussell with Eramia back on board after a rest and some excellent works.
