 Belmont    Race 5   6 furlongs   Claiming $16,000 2L (5:04 ET)

Best Value Play: #2 Sharpandwitty (12/1)

Most Likely Winner: #8 Wisdom of Oz (3/1)

Other Contenders: #4 Cajun Wedding (6/1), #6 Barbara’s Smile (5/1)

Analysis: Wisdom of Oz is hard to figure after her last race where she was eased. Her jock jumps ship but gets one that has ridden her well before. If she dropped to a lower level or was shipped out of town it would cause more concern. She has not worked in a month and that is not a good sign, but if she is healthy she whips these with ease. Cajun Wedding has performed well while being lightly raced and she drops, plus gets to stalk a weak field. Barbara’s Smile shortens up and switches surfaces. The key ingredient is the big class drop. Sharpandwitty removes the blinkers, returns after a good rest and looks to be back at a track to her liking.

Belmont   Race 7   1 1/16 miles Turf Claiming $50,000 3L (6:06 ET)

Best Value Play: #7 Learn (10/1)

Most Likely Winner: #1 Artic North (9/5)

Other Contenders: #8 Mop Head (5/1) #9 Favor Factor (5/2)

Analysis: Artic North deserves to be the favorite and has the back class to crush this field, if the race is not too short. Mop Head will be dangerous on the stretch out, has faced tough company and recorded good speed numbers in the past. Favor Factor keeps Velasquez and comes from a hot barn. His last race was probably better than it looks on paper considering the trip. Learn is an expensive horse from two of the most prominent turf families in the world. Has not run well in the states…yet.
