 Woodbine   Race 5   6 1/2 furlongs   Claiming $20,000 2L (3:07 ET)

Best Value Play: #4 Fair Shake (20/1)

Most Likely Winner: #5 Pampas Angel (3/1)

Other Contenders: #1 Tarty to the Party (4/1), #6 Penelopus (4/1)

Analysis: Pampas Angel takes the blinkers off and drops in class, but most importantly, Patrick Husbands gets off a Mark Casse horse to ride for this trainer. Tarty to the Party ran a big one last time, keeps Contreras and needs just a little luck from the inside to pick up the win. Penelopus ran huge last time after a class drop and the barn is due to get hot any day. Fair Shake runs for the effective Griffith barn in her second time after a freshener, has stakes experience and drops from allowance company. The sizzling work shows readiness.

Woodbine   Race 7   6 ½ furlongs   Allowance NC $15,000 2L (4:10 ET)

Best Value Play: #5 Lynnessa (10/1)

Most Likely Winner: #2 Silent Treat (2/1)

Other Contenders: #1 Rootham’s Triple E (5/2) #7 Dance to the Moon (5/1)

Analysis: Silent Treat won last after a rest, runs for a terrific combo and has a great career record. She deserves favoritism. Rootham’s Triple E is a tough filly that ran close to the favorite last out-a big effort will be no surprise. Dance to the Moon is another that ran well with the favorite last time and should be even tougher in her second race after a freshener, and could get the perfect stalking trip from the outside. Lynnessa should be overlooked but has a lot going for her. She returns after a layoff with a half dozen works spread seven days apart, cuts back from a route, and note, all three of her wins came sprinting. Jock knows her well.
