Arlington Race 5, 6 furlongs Claiming $25,000 (5:43 ET)
Best Value Play: #6 Redlace and Pearls (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 Church Road (3/1)
Other Contenders: #4 Rum Therapy (5/1), #7 Candy’s Lady (7/2)

Analysis: Church Road sports a good resume, is in top form and drops from allowance company to the claiming ranks. Rum Therapy has a terrific winning percentage, appears to have faced tougher and should stalk the pacesetters without difficulty. Candy’s Lady is in top form, loves the Chicago polytrack and keeps a top jockey in the saddle. Redlace and Pearls was reclaimed by an efficient trainer that now removes the blinkers. A recent bullet workout suggests he is happy with his new handlers.

Arlington Race 8, 8 1/2 furlongs Claiming $4,0002L (7:16 ET)
Best Value Play: #8 Codechief (10/1)
Most Likely Winner: #5 W W Orient (3/1)
Other Contenders: #2 Lookin North (6/1) #3 B Manone (5/1)

Analysis: W W Orient comes in from the southern end of Illinois, takes a class drop and gets the blinkers for a very good trainer. Lookin North had a decent run when introduced to the polytrack and takes a drop, plus Rosemary stays aboard. B Manone is a grandson of a Belmont winner that took a while to find himself, but has begun to show some talent. He turns back to a sprint and has some speed, which may be the best thing for him. Codechief is another coming in from the south and gets a good rider. He turns back to a sprint and that will force him to be a closer, which looks to be within his capabilities.
