Woodbine Race 7, 5 furlongs Claiming $20,000 2L (4:08 ET)
Best Value Play: #5 Bug’s Girl (10/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 Simply Belonging (4/1)
Other Contenders: #3 Natural Blonde (5/2), #6 Golden Emily (6/1)
Analysis: Simply Belonging ran against high level maidens before dropping to the bottom and should find this second level group to her liking. Bug’s Girl drops from restricted allowance into the claiming level and has frequent works to prepare for her seasonal debut. Natural Blonde is definitely a contender and should easily be on the ticket despite her dislike for the Winner’s Circle. Golden Emily drops and ships in from Miami, and if she likes polytrack she could prove best in the bunch.
Woodbine Race 10, 6 1/2 furlongs Starter $25,000 (5:41 ET)
Best Value Play: #6 Bet On Jack (12/1)
Most Likely Winner: #8 Tiz Sardonic Joe (2/1)
Other Contenders: #2 French Quarter (4/1) #5 Oro Vero (3/1)
Analysis: Tiz Sardonic Joe changes the game plan with a change of surface and switches from two turns to one-and with trainer Wesley Ward it will probably work. Bet On Jack is one to never underestimate. He ran well against some of the better horses at Penn National and now is in the care of the talented Kevin Attard. French Quarter comes in from Florida, has faced tougher and scorched the earth with a huge speed figure last time. Oro Vero is a successful Woodbine veteran that drops in class and already has run a race this year down in New York.
