Tampa Race 3 6 furlongs Claiming $5,000 (12:23 ET)
Best Value Play: #10 Queen Yamile (12/1)
Most Likely Winner: #11 Rapid Distinction (6/1)
Other Contenders: #4 Flo’s Strawberry (5/2), #9 Yule Yarns Girl (4/1)
Analysis: Rapid Distinction runs second time after a rest, sports consistent speed figures and should be ready to go after a drop. Flo’s Strawberry doesn’t like the photographer but does have speed-must consider. Yule Yarns Girl has a decent resume compared to others and should get a close up stalking trip. Queen Yamile goes for a trainer that had a good year in 2014 and comes back after a freshening with good works, and speed.
Aqueduct Race 2 6 furlongs Claiming $25,000 (1:14 ET)
Best Value Play: #5 Hurry Up Alan (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #7 Be Bullish (9/5)
Other Contenders: #1 Doc Almon (3/1), #2 Piquant (5/1)
Analysis: Be Bullish has finished in the money an amazing fifty seven times and looks to be better than his resume compared to his foes. Doc Almon has been active at the claim box which shows his popularity and now drops in class for today’s contests. Piquant had a bad race last time and he is much better-don’t dismiss because a top effort puts him in the Winner’s Circle. Hurry Up Alan was claimed from last and is the other part of the uncoupled Jacobson entry…can you see some danger?
Tampa Race 7 7 furlongs Optional $16,000 (2:20 ET)
Best Value Play: #1 Blues Edge (12/1)
Most Likely Winner: #3 Turnout (3/1)
Other Contenders: #7 I O Ines (6/1), #9 Hot Wind (9/2)
Analysis: Turnout is set to improve for very hot connections and should stalk the pace without difficulty. I O Ines runs for a hot barn, can flash early speed or stalk up close and is due for further improvement. Hot Wind has eight career victories and her last two races suggest she is as good as anything else in the gate. Blues Edge has good connections and normally goes two turns, but could be trouble for foes with her speed at this distance.
PARX Race 6 6 furlongs Claiming $7,500 2L (2:40 ET)
Best Value Play: #8 Bellsforsamantha (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 Burn Permit (2/1)
Other Contenders: #3 Senorita Siete (6/1), #11 Trust in Tebow (4/1)
Analysis: Burn Permit has the back class to whip these and will run for a new barn. Senorita Siete is normally bet well, should be able to stalk the early pace from close up and get a good run for the wire. Trust in Tebow has the speed to wire this field and the outside posts have fared well over the last week. Bellsforsamantha comes off a maiden score and has finished in the money in her last five outings.
PARX Race 9 7 furlongs Claiming $7,500 (4:01 ET)
Best Value Play: #4 Slow Heart Break (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #6 Major in Time (5/1)
Other Contenders: #5 Twill Be (3/1) #8 Fightin Irish (5/1)
Analysis: Major in Time may be hard to figure after his last two races, but he drops again for a hot barn and a return to old form puts him in the Winner’s Circle. Twill Be may be camera shy but he is ultra-consistent with his speed figures. Fightin Irish ships in from the Big Apple after a terrible performance but drops back to a level where he has done his best work. Slow Heart Break has been claimed several times and now gets the blinkers for a trainer that does well with a change of optics.
