Delaware Park Race 6 5 1/2 furlongs Claiming $7,500 (3:30 ET)
Best Value Play: #9 Virginia Ann (8/1)
Most Likely Winner: #8 Barbara’s Beauty (5/2)
Other Contenders: #3 Killin Them Softly (7/2), #7 Bluebrass Belle (4/1)
Analysis: Barbara’s Beauty sports a dozen career wins and even though she likes the lead, has stalked some in the past and gets a good post to do the same. Killin Them Softly should find the front and is capable of going all the way. Bluebrass Belle ships in as a veteran of battle in several states. She takes a big class drop and shortens up. Virginia Ann could benefit from a hot pace and gets a great post to stalk and, she is a past winner in Wilmington.
Lone Star Race 8 6 ½ furlongs Claiming $7,500 3L (8:12 ET)
Best Value Play: #6 Wimbledon’s Fire (12/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 Eddie Junior (6/5)
Other Contenders: #1 Silent Hero (5/2) #5 Tuned Crusader (4/1)
Analysis: Eddie Junior won his last and jumps in class, but the task does not look to tough for this gelding with Berry in the irons. Silent Hero is usually bet well and gives a decent account of himself and has good early speed. Tuned Crusader may have been stuck at this level a while but leaving him off a ticket will probably be a mistake. Wimbledon’s Fire has been camera shy but he gets a good rider and should leave the gate on the engine. His last speed number makes him dangerous on the lead.
