Analysis: Royal Witch tries Churchill for the first time and should be in the mix all the way around. Velvet Zip has a past that suggests she can win but the drop is also suspicious. Lola Getz comes off a good effort and although she hasn’t won in Louisville it appears she likes the track. Spades Are Wild comes back after a brief freshener, gets Albarado and returns to what may be her favored surface.

Analysis: Whomping Willow drops from graded company and gets in as light as possible with weight. Trainer Dale Romans worked her like he means to win. Fioretti ran well at this level last out and the well-bred filly seems capable of creating an upset. Silver Union will probably battle for favoritism and the connections of Ramsey-Maker always loom larger in the Bluegrass State. Isle of Wonder may look overmatched on paper but with a rest and a trainer named Asmussen anything is possible.
