Saratoga Race 4, 7 furlongs Allowance 1X (2:39 ET)
Best Value Play: #3 Day of Fury (12/1)
Most Likely Winner: #4 Juan and Bina (2/1)
Other Contenders: #2 Hartford (3/1), #5 Silver Ride (4/1)
Analysis: Juan and Bina is the only graded stakes runner in the field, plus he has the biggest speed figure of all. Hartford may have been off for over a year, but he won his only race and cost a good deal money. He may be a risk but he is in capable hands with Pletcher. Silver Ride comes back for his second race after a freshener, keeps Velasquez and has posted a terrific work tab. Day of Fury must be considered simply because he is a resident in the Jacobson barn, but he also has some early zip which may come in handy.
Woodbine Race 9, 7 furlongs Optional $62,500 (4:56 ET)
Best Value Play: #3 Line of Best Fit (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #2 Black Bird Rock (3/1)
Other Contenders: #1 Big Brown Brookski (5/2) #8 Sweet Interlude (7/2)
Analysis: Black Bird Rock changed barns after being claimed but keeps Husbands in the saddle and has the biggest bankroll in the field. Big Brown Brookski is a very tough lady, has early speed and retains the services of her favorite rider. Sweet Interlude is lightly raced compared to most of the field and has been off a long time, but she comes from the barn of Canada’s top trainer, who is no rookie when bringing horses back from extended layoffs. Line of Best Fit has battled with several in this field and is in top form. Her tactical speed could position her well for a first run to the wire.
