Gulfstream Race 1, 5 1/2 furlongs Claiming $6,250 (1:00 ET)
Best Value Play: #1 Georgetownstyle (10/1)
Most Likely Winner: #7 Dot Those Eyes (2/1)
Other Contenders: #3 The Royal Boot (3/1), #5 Check Her Twice (4/1)
Analysis: Dot Those Eyes comes back for the second time after a freshener and sports a good resume. Most any resemblance to her 2014 form will result in victory. The Royal Boot was once a winning machine. Even though her track prowess is not what it once was she still looks good among her foes in this race. Check Her Twice comes back for the second time after a layoff and a drop, which brings up questions. But her trainer is deadly in this specific situation (second time layoff) and she was the favorite when she returned to battle back in April. Georgetownstyle had a dreadful time in Tampa but her trainer is getting warm and does well with first layoff types.
Gulfstream Race 7, 6 furlongs Claiming $6,250 3L (4:00 ET)
Best Value Play: #4 It’s Mariah (6/1)
Most Likely Winner: #3 Builder Jak (2/1)
Other Contenders: #1 Blue Temptation (3/1) #5 Fair Shake (6/1)
Analysis: Builder Jak has an excellent record, drops in class, maintains her regular rider and hails from a barn that is doing well. Blue Temptation has some speed and a style that is versatile. It may be tough for her to win but her best effort may get the job done. Fair Shake comes from a good barn after being claimed from last. Her consistency can be questioned but her talent cannot when compared to these. It’s Mariah comes from a weak barn and began slowly in 2015. But she has tremendous back class and she did post a vastly improved effort in her last.
