Her Emmynency gets the upset win in the QEII at Keeneland

Her Emmynency held off a late run from Miss Temple City to score the biggest win of her career, the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at Keeneland. Sent off at odds of 19/1, Her Emmynency (BetPTC.com 2nd Selection) was second early on as long shot Mizz Money went out to set the pace. Her Emmynency disposed of Mizz Money on the final turn and started to kick away as they came into the stretch. Clear by two at the eighth pole, Her Emmynency began to tire and drift in a bit. Miss Temple City and Drayden Van Dyke came flying late but came up a head short as Her Emmynency and Florent Geroux held on desparetely for the win. Miss Temple City finished up in second while favorite Senterio Italia (BetPTC.com Top Selection) finished up in third.

Charitable Annuity flies home late to win the West Virginia Breeders’ Classic

Charitable Annuity had to pass most of his rivals in the final quarter of a mile, but was able to do so as he won the $500,000 West Virginia Breeders’ Classic in fine order. Sent off at odds of 5/1, Charitable Annuity was seventh early on as Hidden Canyon shook loose early and was on the engine. Hidden Canyon knocked off a half mile in 47.26 seconds, quick for the bullring style track at Charles Town. Hidden Canyone was still in front by almost two as they turned into the short stretch, but Charitable Annuity flew on the outside and rolled right on by, drawing off late to win by almost three lengths over Hidden Canyon who held on for second place.

Messi from last to first to win the Knickerbocker

Messi passed all eight of his rivals in the final half mile to get up in the final jump and win the $200,000 Knickerbocker Stakes. Sent off at odds of 4/1, Messi was at the back of a pretty tight knit group as even though he was last early on, he was only five lengths behind long shot Cage Fighter (BetPTC.com 3rd Selection). Cage Fighter slowed them down early and made a break for home at the top of the lane, opening up a length on the competition. But John Velazquez and Messi started to roll home on the outside and got up to catch Cage Fighter right at the wire, winning by a nose.

Stays in Vegas crushes her rivals in the Surfer Girl Stakes

Stays in Vegas took to the turf beautifully on Saturday as she beat her ten rivals decisively in the $100,000 Surfer Girl Stakes at Santa Anita. Sent off at odds of 7/1, Stays in Vegas (BetPTC.com 3rd Selection) was close up early on in third as Lucky Folie went out to set the pace. Lucky Folie was clear turning into the stretch but as she began to tire she began to run erratically and drift. Stays in Vegas burst on by to get the lead as Mirage had to steady sharply behind the tiring Lucky Folie. Stays in Vegas won by two and a quarter lengths and Mirage was appointed to second after the stewards disqualified Lucky Folie for drifting in the stretch.

In the $100,000 Zuma Beach Stakes it was Dressed in Hermes who passed I’malreadythere (BetPTC.com 2nd Selection) to get the win. I’malreadythere grabbed the lead early on in the one mile turf event and had the lead in mid-stretch. But Dressed in Hermes started to roll late and got up to win by half a length for jockey Gary Stevens.
