Daring Kathy goes all the way to win the Honey Ryder at Gulfstream Park

Daring Kathy got quite brave on the lead early on and only extended her lead down the lane as she dominated the $75,000 Honey Ryder Stakes at Gulfstream Park.  Darking Kathy (BetPTC.com 2nd Selection) was sent off as the 4/5 favorite in the turf event and she was allowed to make the lead under Abdiel Jaen and set strong fractions early, getting to a quarter mile in 22.41 seconds and a half mile in 45.82 seconds.  Once they got to the top of the lane, Daring Kathy still had plenty left and drew away down the lane to win by almost four lengths.  Marnesia Wild Heir closed from last place early on to get up for second while Florida Sun finished up in third.

In the $75,000 Big Drama it was Dad’z Laughter (BetPTC.com Top Selection) who went right to the lead and never looked back as he won by two and three quarters.  Sent off as the 8/5 favorite, Dad’z Laughter and Elvis Trujillo took advantage of their inside draw and blasted to the front and getting through an opening quarter in 22.12 seconds.  Jockey Elvis Trujillo had Dad’z Laughter under a snug hold and they came into the stretch and started to pour it on.  Risk Factor was second all the way around while Narvaez closed from seventh early on to get up for third.

Sweet Cassiopeia wins Unbridled Sidney Stakes

Sweet Cassiopeia didn’t seem to mind that the $65,000 Unbridled Sidney Stakes was washed off the turf as she rallied from off the pace to get up and win the five furlong event.  Sweet Cassiopeia (BetPTC.com 3rd Selection) was fifth early on as Costly went out and got through an opening quarter in 22.34 seconds.  Sweet Cassiopeia had to steady on the turn but had a ton of momentum under jockey Joe Rocco Jr. and they came after the lead at the top of the lane.  Sweet Cassiopeia started to edge away down the lane and won by a length and a quarter.  Point To the Wild (BetPTC.com Top Selection) started to close in and ran a good second while Queen Negwer finished up in third.
