The jackpot at Gulfstream continues to grow but the best I could come up with was a $150 ticket and was not confident, so going to hope it grows for tomorrow.

Today’s focus is Fair Grounds Black Gold pick 5.  Very playable today and with the races taken off the turf I like it even more now

Fair Grounds Race#6 Post time 4:33pm eastern

Race#6 Could be an easy opening leg or not. I really like the 7, the key is the added blinkers. I expect on or near the lead and horse to stay focused. All the other horses are the same plotting type. Key the 7 or take a bunch. I choose key

Race#7 Take note the 1 is scratched but not the 1a. Very key because a few times I see the 1 being scratch and forget about the 1a, inflated price expected. Anything close to the 1a’s last effort makes him a standout winner. Others that do have a shot are the 4 and 9.

Race#8 Not my favorite race in the sequence. Not completely sure on the race shape. The 7 has the figures to win and should stalk and take over. If the horse hangs as it does from time to time I am leaning to the 1,2 since they should get a nice trip and might get the jump on the 7

Race#9 The 4 is in great form and fits this condition perfectly. The other horse that simply loves to win and can in this one is the 12 and was entered hoping for the race to come off the turf. The 13 will be competitive but I think will need one start having a year layoff, even with the good works.

Race#10 These types of races are my least favorite because I find the bottom claimer LA breds just don’t hold there form. The 11 is the speed and if he keeps going he wins. The 9 got a dream trip last time and may win again. The 1,2,6 all have a race or two on their pps that could win, so throwing them in the mix too.
