Race 6B (Rosehill) – Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes – 10 furlongs – 12:50 am EDT Saturday

My picks are 1-2-3:  #1 First Seal (8/5 ML) is a very good horse and either of her last two races wins this.  Ran second at this distance against males last year.  #2 Set Square (18/1 ML) is really talented but there is no pace in this race to set up her late run.    She’s probably destined for a wide trip in here.  #3 Amicus (10/1) might well lead early.  She’s a sprinter stretching out and she looks to be the speed of the speed.

Race 7B (Rosehill) – Group 1 “The BMW” Stakes – 12 furlongs – 1:30 am EDT Saturday

#7 To The World (3/1 ML) has the speed figures and a close second to Gentildonna, who won the Japan Cup twice.  Best wins this.  #11 Rising Romance (11/1 ML) is rounding into form.  A great angle is playing an Australian horse on seven days rest.  #10 Lucia Valentina (7/1 ML) put in a much better effort and has competitive speed figures and also comes back off one week rest.  #1 Protectionist (7/1 ML) has been really bad since the switch into a local Australian barn.  Time for a form reversal?
