Friday Night (North America) – Moonee Valley (Race 2A)

The bet – Win at 6/1 or better on #6 in Moonee Valley (Race 2A)

The best angle for improvement in Australian racing is a horse making its second start off a 2 month or longer layoff (Aussies call this “second up”).

In Race 2A, #6 COLORS OF THE WIND has run decent speed figures in both of his starts and while it appears he faded somewhat in his last start first up on December 7th, he was racing against the highly regarded winner Lord Of The Sky and decent handicapper Salute to Jude.  Salute to Jude, exiting the December 7th race, won at Flemington last Friday night at 12/1, keying a huge trifecta – as previewed in this space last week.

What adds to the sizzle is Moody puts his “go rider,” Daniel Stackhouse, on Colors Of The Wind and the morning line is FAT – 12/1.  I would not expect 12/1 at race time, but 6/1 or better on this horse is fair value.
