Oaklawn Park – Late Pick Four

Race #8 – Alw $62,000 – 6f – 5:14 pm EDT Selections / #9 – Bye Bye J / #4 – Sneaking Out / #12 – A.P. Princess

#9 Bye Bye J hails from the Steve Asmussen barn with Ricardo Santana aboard. They are winning 21% as a team and she’s a solid closing sort. She’s a horse for the course going 3 for 4 ITM over the OP strip. She exits off a win and been away two months. The barn scores 21% with last race winners. #4 Sneaking Out  comes off an eight month layoff for Jerry Hollendorfer and Joel Rosario in the saddle. She’s a stalker and owns some bullet works on the turn back in distance. She drops in class and looks attractive in this field. #12 A.P. Princess comes from the Cipriano Contreras barn with Martin Garcia in the saddle. 2nd trip off synthetic is a good angle and switching to a high percentage rider is a plus.

Race #9 – The $100,000 Bachelor – 6f – 5:45 pm EDT Selections / #7 – Eight Rings / #9 -Long Weekend / #3 – Echo Town

#7 Eight Rings is a son of Empire Maker for the Bob Baffert barn with Joel Rosario in the irons. He’s been off 5 months and been working lights out. His last bullet work of 59 flat was the best of 29 works that day. Takes a huge drop in class and may improve at the shorter distance. Rosario wins 26% with early runners and Baffert is on fire winning 56% from a small sampling. #9 Long Weekend hails from the Thom Amoss barn with Joe Talamo getting the call. He is 1 for 1 at OP and sports good early foot. 3rd off the layoff and the barn scores at a 27% win clip on this move. If he repeats his last win he’ll be a major player. #3 Echo Town comes from the Steve Asmussen barn with Ricardo Santana aboard. This son of Speightstown moves up in class and is a stout late runner. If the pace is solid he’ll be running late.

Race #10 – The $125,000 Carousel – 6f – 6:16 pm EDT Selections / #1 – Bellafina / #8 – Mia Mischief / #4 – What a Fox

#1 Bellafina is a daughter of Quality Road for trainer Simon Callaghan and Joe Talamo. 3 months off the shelf taking a huge drop in class. She’s a stalker and her works are solid. Add in a beaten favorite last out and she looks to turn the tables today. #8 Mia Mischief comes from the barn of Steve Asmussen with his go to rider Ricardo Santana in the saddle. She’s a stalker looking to go three in a row and is 5 for 5 ITM at OP. #4 What a Fox is a daughter of Bernardini for Robertino Diodoro who is winning 24% at the meet. David Cohen gets the nod and she’s been off 56 days. Cohen and Diodoro score 20% as a team and she’ll be flying late in the lane.

Race #11 – Mdn Sp Wt – 1 1/16 – 6:47 pm EDT Selections / #4 – Unrighteous / #11 – On d’Oro / #9 – Ronamo

#4 Unrighteous hails from the Todd Pletcher barn with Joel Rosario in the irons. He’s been away 49 days and ships in from Tampa Bay Downs. He’ll fit much better at this level and Rosario is winning 33% at the meet. Today looks like graduation day. #11 On d’Oro comes from the Wesley Hawley barn with this son of Tapit. He is 3 for 5 ITM at OP and should get a good stalking trip. His last race showed promise and should be a square price today. #9 Ronamo is from the Wayne Catalano barn with Luis Quinonez in the saddle. 3rd time off the layoff and is a strong closer who loves OP going 5 for 6 ITM. Steps up in class and should be in the mix late in the lane.
