Race #9 – The G3 Mineshaft – 1 1/16 – 5:01 pm EDT

#4 Silver Dust is a son of Tapit for Bret Calhoun wining 26% with Brian Hernandez. He is 6 for 7 ITM at FG and is a perfect stalker type. This is his 2nd off the layoff where the barn wins 18%. This rider trainer team win 31% together. Look for an up close trip looking for two in a row. #6 Hofburg comes in for Bill Mott and Joel Rosario. Been off 7 months from Saratoga and has been working lights out in the morning. This son of Tapit has tons of back class and owns some sparkling works coming in today. He fires fresh off the layoff and will be closing quick in the lane. #9 Captivating Moon is a son of Malibu Moon for Chris Block and Julien Leparoux. Makes the turf to dirt switch winning 21% on this move and 1 for 1 over the course. Leparoux picks up the mount and will be rolling late to grab a piece of the pie.

Race #10 – The G3 Fair Grounds Stakes – 1 1/8 on the turf – 5:32 pm EDT

#2 Synchrony comes off a 4 month layoff for Michael Stidham and Joe Bravo. He’s a deep closer with works over the track. He’s 6 for 7 ITM at the distance and fires fresh off the shelf. #5 Don’t Blame Rocket¬†is a son of Blame for Norm Casse and Julien Leparoux. He moves up the class ladder and is 11 for 13 ITM on the sod. He loves FG going 7 for 8 ITM and looks to make it four in a row. #12 Midnight Tea Time comes in for Joe Sharp who is 4 for 4 ITM at FG. The rider switch to high percentage Joel Rosario helps moving up the class ladder.

Race #11 – The G2 Rachel Alexandra – 1 1/16 – 6:05 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #3 – Swiss Skydiver / #6 – British Idiom / #7 – Finite

#3 Swiss Skydiver is a daughter of Daredevil for trainer Ken McPeek. She goes from a sprint to a route and wins 23% on this move as her last race looked like a solid prep. She can come rolling off the pace and B.J. Hernandez winning 15% with his distance runners. Solid works and 2nd off make her dangerous. #6 British Idiom is a daughter of Flashback who’s a perfect 3 for 3 at FG exiting a three month layoff. She will stalk the pace under Javier Castellano. Her win in the G1 B/C Juvenile Fillies was sharp and should be the major danger. #7 Finite is a Steve Asmussen trainee with Ricardo Santana in the irons. She is 1 for 1 at FG seeking her fifth straight win. She’s been game at every level and Santana fits her like a glove. Keep in your exotics as she’s 6 for 6 ITM lifetime.

Race #12 – The G2 Risen Star – 1 1/8 – 6:38 pm EDT

#2 Silver Slate is a lightly raced colt by Hard Spun. He’s 3 for 3 ITM lifetime and ran a game race last out in the G-3 Lecomte after bobbling and getting knocked around. A solid closer who fits the rider winning 20% with his late runners. His dam Supreme has 4 starters, and 4 winners to her credit. #9 Mr. Monomoy is a son of Palace Malice who is 2 for 2 at FG. Florent Geroux in the irons and ¬†made a good run in the G3 Lecomte. Trainer Brad Cox is winning 22% and has been red hot 7 for 9 ITM the past weeks. #11 Scabbard comes from the barn of Eddie Kenneally with Joel Rosario in the saddle. 2nd off the layoff winning 21% off that move and was forced to steady in the G3 Lecomte. He’s a closer and should relish the added ground as a beaten chalk last out.
