Lets kick off the new year with a very nice carry over in the pick 5 at Santa Anita. A great bet being that it is only 50 cents and there is almost $400,000 of dead money in there. I think it is a very playable sequence today.

Santa Anita Race#1 Pick 5   Post time 3:30pm eastern

Race#1 This is my least favourite race. I expect the 3 to go to the lead, the 6,7 stalking and the 2,5 closing late. All of these have the figures to win and with the right trip they can all win as well. Not a lot of help in here.

Race#2 The 1 should be the favourite in here. I am never a fan when horses head to the ‘B’ meet circuit. The 1 is a must use but I really like the 8 and 6 better. Tough start first start for the 8 with a big middle move. The 6 could be the speed or at worst stalk close.

Race#3 The race goes through the 6, if gets any little breather she wins on the front end. The 3 will stalk and could upset. If there is a duel then the 4 can win, she does need to improve to beat the 6 though

Race#4 The 7 will be the favourite, mainly based on who she has raced against. The 6 is my sleeper that will be flying late. The 3 only needs to improve a little to win.

Race#5 If playing a small ticket the 6 could be a key and will be tough to beat. After that I think you need a bunch after that.
