Hard to believe there are no regular carry overs on a Saturday worth playing today. I decided to go with the Jackpot Pick 6 at Gulfstream Park West because it is there biggest day of the year there today. Not an easy sequence but a great card to make money.
GPW Race#5 Pick 6 Post time 2:31 eastern
Race#5 There is a choice in this race, key the 8, who I do like quite a bit. Has the running style to close late and will be tough, or take a bunch. My super longshot is the 7, I rarely will take a maiden in a stake race but I think she is second best. The 1, 9 have small shots for the upset
Race#6 The race goes through the 2. His race to lose, it depends if the extra distance will hurt him, I do not think it will. The others are all the same type of average horses that will not be stake horses other than in Florida bred races.
Race#7 The obvious horse is the 5, one of the few to show something. After him it is wide open. Do not trust the obvious horse. Being I have many potential keys, this sets up for the ALL race in the sequence.
Race#8 Very tricky race for a small field. The main contenders have not race or raced will at GPW, so that is a worry. The obvious horses are the 3,5. The 4 is working well and a top effort makes him a contender too, to go along with the proper running style to win the race.
Race#9 The 1 was very good on the turf two back, his last race was in way to tough but still ran evenly. Solid works makes him another key for me. Lots of unknowns in here, so that’s why I am taking a stand. Sleepers to upset that I may use on a saver ticket would be 5,7.
Race#10 Another early pace horse I like today. Will need a bit of speed rail bias to win the ticket. The 1 is the filly I like in hear, once again should be the controlling pace, but if can stalk if needed makes her even tougher. Longshot to consider would be the 5, need to improve to win though.
Here is a ticket: 8/2/all/3,4,5,/1/1 cost $7.20
I will then play other tickets with a few savers that can upset my four keys.
