Race #10 – The G1 Metropolitan – 1 mile – 5:04 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #1 – Cody’s Wish / #6 – Zandon / #7 – Repo Rocks

#1 Cody’s Wish is a son of Curlin for the Bill Mott barn making his second start of the year. He is seeking his 6th straight win and has three straight bullets to prepare. Junior Alvarado has the call aboard this stalker who is 2 for 2 ITM at Belmont. 2nd time off the layoff yields a 20% win clip for Team Mott. #6 Zandon is a late runner from the Chad Brown barn with Flavien Prat aboard making his 2nd start of the year. He is eligible to improve 2nd time out and they make a major rider switch to Prat. He is 2 for 2 ITM at Belmont. #7 Repo Rocks is a stalker from the Jamie Ness barn with Ruben Silvera in the irons. The son of Tapiture is 6 for 8 ITM over the course and needs to upstep his game to take down the prize today.

Race #11 – The G1 Manhattan – 1 1/2 on the turf – 5:54 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #4 – Ottoman Fleet / #8 – Up to the Mark / #6 – Red Knight

#4 Ottoman Fleet is a son of Sea the Stars (IRE) for the Charlie Appleby yard with William Buick making the trip. He has a strong late kick and owns a score over the Belmont surface to prepare. He is 4 for 4 ITM at the distance and Buick has been aboard the majority of his races. #8 Up to the Mark hails from the Todd Pletcher barn with Irad Ortiz in the saddle. His last win was an impressive prep as Ortiz wins 27% of his turf mounts, and they ship back from CD where the barn wins 24% with shippers. #6 Red Knight is a closer from the Mike Maker barn where he is 7 for 11 ITM for Maker. This is his 3rd off the layoff move and since last year’s BC Turf, he looks more focused and ready for a top effort.

Race #12 – The G1 Belmont Stakes – 1 1/2 – 7:02 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #6 – Forte / #7 – Hit Show / #9 – Red Route One

#6 Forte is a strong closer from the Todd Pletcher barn with Irad Ortiz in the saddle. Ortiz is known as one of the best finishers in the game and wins 26% with his late callers. He has been off for two months since winning the G1 Florida Derby and seeks his 6th straight victory for the Todd Squad. #7 Hit Show makes his 3rd start off the break and exits with an average effort in the G1 Kentucky Derby. Prior to that he looks solid closing into the pace and can easily be a factor with a clean trip today. #9 Red Route One hails from the Steve Asmussen barn with Joel Rosario aboard. He steadied a bit in the G1 Preakness and ran a respectable race. He is more like the legendary Silky Sullivan closing from out of the clouds, and when he gets moving watch out. He would need a decent pace or he would find himself stalking closer to a pedestrian tempo to not have his knockout punch. Live longshot for your exotics.

Race #13 – The G1 Preakness Stakes – 1 3/16 – 7:01 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #3 – Mage / #5 – Red Route One / #1 National Treasure

#3 Mage is the only one who stands a chance at the Triple Crown after a perfect trip winning the Kentucky Derby. He is lightly raced for Gustavo Delgado with Javier Castellano staying aboard. This son of Good Magic is more versatile than at first glance and can lay closer if necessary. I’m looking for a mid pack trip and negotiating a field of eight runners will be a welcome day at the races. Javier came from 15th place to circle the field with authority. I think it is his race to lose and we’ll have Triple Crown chatter going on for the next three weeks. #5 Red Route One earned his shot at Pimlico with a powerhouse run at OP for Steve Asmussen with Joel Rosario in the saddle. He’s been on my wiseguy list of runners for a while and it seems he catches an off track most of his races. Saturday’s forecast is 75 degrees and sunny. Have a solid pace and this runner will come calling like a hurricane. The price will be worth taking a shot. # 1 National Treasure reunites with Bob Baffert, who has won this race 7 times. He will go from the one post and likely lead the way.
