Del Mar – Breeders’ Cup

Race #6 – The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint – 5f turf – 5:50 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #7 – Armour / #8 – Averly Jane / #6 – Twilight Gleaming

#7 Armour is a son of No Nay Never and will come calling when the real running begins. He has a wicked late turn of foot and facing some of the best sprinters in Europe. He hails from the Richard Hannon yard, and has the services of ultra talented Ryan Moore. #8 Averly Jane will be the pacesetter and can be dangerous if left alone as she seeks her fifth straight win for Wesley Ward and Tyler Gaffalione. She exits off a win in a key prep for the race and can turn out the lights if not pressed. #6 Twilight Gleaming goes post ward Wesley Ward and can get perfect trip with stablemate Averly Jane setting strong fractions for her to close into. Strong closing rider Irad Ortiz in the irons and he wins 22% with late running turf closers.

Race #7 – The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies – 1 1/16 – 6:30 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #6 – Echo Zulu / #4 – Tarabi / #3 – Sequist

#6 Echo Zulu should be right on the front and work out a pressing trip whoever the joins the pace. Steve Asmussen is the conditioner and Joel Rosario in the saddle. 3rd off the layoff for this daughter of Gun Runner who is regally bred and a perfect 3 for 3 lifetime.  Price will be short and may be free spot in multi race wagers. #4 Tarabi is a late runner and had an eventful trip last out colliding with the gate. She goes to the track for Cherie DeVaux and Javier Castellano. She sports some sharp works after her rough trip last out.  #3 Sequist is a deep closing daughter of Nyquist for Dallas Stewart and Junior Alvarado. 3rd off the layoff for a barn who springs upsets with runners on the marquee days.

Race #8 – The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf – 1 mile on the turf – 7:10 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #1 – Pizza Blanca / #4 – Turnerloose / #14 – California Angel

#1 Pizza Blanca comes off a 47 day break from the races as Christophe Clement looks for the winner’s circle with Jose Ortiz in the saddle. She exits the G1 Natalma at Woodbine which has served as a strong prep. The barn wins 24% with babies and Ortiz wins 18% with turf closers. Plenty of pace to set her up as they turn for home. #4 Turnerloose should be the main speed as she set the fractions in the G2  Jessamine and managed to hang on for the show dough. She is a daughter of Nyquist for Brad Cox and Florent Geroux in the saddle. 3rd time off the layoff and the barn wins 34% with beaten favorites as she exits Keeneland and cuts back in distance. #14 California Angel is a daughter of California Chrome for trainer George Leonard III and retains Rafael Bejarano in the driver’s seat. This is your sentimental longshot as the backside is really rooting for this gal as she was a $5,500 purchase. But, all that aside she came rolling in the G2 Jessamine circling eight wide getting up in the shadow of the wire.

Race #9 – The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile – 1 1/16 – 7:50 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #1 – Jack Christopher / #12 – Corniche / #9 – Pinehurst

#1 Jack Christopher [SCRATCHED] exits off a win in the G1 Champagne which has served as a key prep for this race. Jose Ortiz aboard for Chad Brown and they win 29% as a team. He looks to be able to secure a ground saving position and move at the right time. They have a bullet work under his belt and ship in from Belmont where Brown wins 28% going to new surroundings. #12 Corniche goes to post for Bob Baffert and Mike Smith. The outside post will only have Smith sending and securing position while trying to save some ground. This son of Quality Road is 2 for 2 lifetime and won impressively in the G1 American Pharaoh at Santa Anita. Look for a stalking move and trying to takeover under the professional hands of Smith down the backstretch. #9 Pinehurst appears to be the rabbit for Baffert’s  Corniche, but may have more up his sleeve. He is 2 for 2 lifetime and gets added distance which should have him running easy on the lead for Bob Baffert and John Velasquez in the irons. Baffert wins 35% with babies and has a sharp work coming into the race. Johnny V wins 22% with early speed types.

Race #10 – The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf – 1 mile on the turf – 8:30 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #2 – Albahr / #1 – Modern Games / #10 – Portfolio Company

#2 Albahr hails from the Charlie Appleby yard with Frankie Dettori in the saddle. Exits the G1 Summer at Woodbine as a key prep for this race, and Mr. Applebee wins 80% with his babies. He hopped at the start and still mowed them down in the stretch under Dettori circling the field in the Goldolphin colors. His dam Falls of Lora (IRE) has 4 starters, 4 winners, 4 turf winners to her credit. Dettori staying aboard seals the deal. Europeans have dominated this race in the past. #1 Modern Game also conditioned by Charlie Appleby with William Buick in the irons. He is 4 for 5 ITM lifetime and gets added ground today. He should be a bit closer to the pace and being on the hedge allows Buick to save plenty of ground for a well timed move. #10 Portfolio Company is a well timed stalker with Flavien Prat for Chad Brown. 3rd off the layoff and exits the G2 Pilgrim which has served as a prep in the past. Prat is winning 26% on the turf and 29% with Chad Brown. Don’t leave off your tickets.

#7 Forewarned is a late runner for Uriah St. Lewis and Sonny Leon. They step back into Ohio company after running in graded company outside of the Ohio circuit. He is 4 for 4 ITM at Mahoning and will enjoy the distance and softer track. Look for a good late kick turning for home as Leon wins 20% with route runners. #13 Wicked Warrior is a stalker for Team Feliciano, and returns to face Ohio company again. His only knock in the #13 post, but has the class to break sharply and move over to save precious ground. BetPTC.com Analysis / #10 – Venetian Harbor / #12 – Constantia / #7 – Catch a Bid

#10 Venetian Harbor exits the G1 Clemente Hirsch for Richard Baltas and Florent Geroux. This is her 2nd start off a layoff and owns two bullet works coming into the race. Geroux has been 9 for 13 ITM the past week and wins 27% with early speed. Look for this daughter of Munnings to jump out fresh and dictate the pace in the hands of the patient Geroux. # 12 Constantia ships in from Del Mar for John Sadler and Umberto Rispoli. She has a solid late kick and comes off a 48 day break from the races. She is 4 for 4 ITM at the distance and Rispoli wins 27% on the turf and 19% with closers. #7 Catch a Bid hails from the Joe Sharp barn with Luis Saez fresh off a saratoga title victory. Saez can get her to settle early and should stalk just off the pace. The barn wins 20% off a last race win and Saez wins 29% teaming up with Joe Sharp.

Race#7 – The G3 Ladies Turf – 1 mile on the turf – 4:34 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #2 – Princess Grace / #3 – Abscond / #6 – Shifty Sea

#2 Princess Grace makes her 3rd off the layoff bid for Michael Stidham and exits a win in the G2 Yellow Ribbon. She is looking to make it four in a row under Florent Geoux and this daughter of Karakontie (JPN)  is tough to knock. She does very little wrong and should be mid flight ready to pounce turn into the long stretch. #3 Abscond is a daughter of Blame for Eddie Kenneally with Flavien Prat in the saddle. She comes in off a 49 day break from Woodbine and should be fresh and ready to stalk the pace. Prat wins 28% with stalkers on the turf and she has plenty of back class to have her ready to fire fresh. #6 Shifty Sea hails from the barn of Saffie Joseph and sports good early speed. Irad Ortiz has the call and steps up in class with a strong rider who can get a horse to relax on the undulating course.

Race #8 – The G3 Turf Sprint – 6f  on the turf – 5:09pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #9 – Got Stormy / #7 – Casa Creed / #3 – Bombard

#9 Got Stormy goes postward for Mark Casse and Tyler Gaffalione in the saddle. She beat the boys in the G1 Four Star Dave and returns back to the ladies. She is 1 for 1 at KyD and owns a sharp work coming into the race. She has a strong late kick and Gaffalione wins 18% with turf closers. #7 Casa Creed is a late runner from the Bill Mott barn with Junior Alvarado in the irons. Her last few races show good things to come and Alvarado is 45% ITM with late running turf runners. He is a son of Jimmy Creed and sports a sharp work coming into the race. #3 Bombard is a son of War Front for Dick Mandella and Flavien Prat gets the call. He is 1 for 1 ITM at KyD and has plenty of early foot coming off a win in the G3 Daytona. The three month break may have him freshened for a top effort.

Race#9 – The G2 Turf Cup – 1 1/2 on the turf – 5:44 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #5 – Arlow / #4 – Tide of the Sea / #9 – Glynn County

#5 Arklow hails from the Brad Cox barn with Florent Geoux in the irons. This is his 3rd off the layoff move where the barn scores 26%. A late runner who is 3 for 3 ITM at KyD and seems to enjoy the undulating European course. Rider and trainer score 31% as a team the past 60 days. #4 Tide of the Sea comes to post for Mike Maker and has good early speed. He has a perfect 1 for 1 at KyD and should be a major player under the patient hand of Luis Saez who wins 22% with speed on the turf. #9 Glynn County is a son of Kitten’s Joy for Mike Maker and has a solid late kick under Tyler Gaffalione. He is 1 for 1 over the course and Tyler G has a 23% working with Mike Maker. Look for a late run turning into the long stretch.

Race #9 – The $500k Dueling Grounds Oaks – 1 5/16 miles turf – 5:50 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #6 – Adventuring / #8 – Core Values / #9 – Earth Strike

#6 Adventuring hails from the barn of Brad Cox and failed as the beaten favorite last out. Switching riders to Joel Rosario and should relish the added distance. Add in a bullet work off her last race and Rosario may have a live runner in his hands. #8 Core Values is a late runner from the barn of Victoria Oliver with Rafael Bejarano in the irons. This daughter of Honor Code is shooting to make it four in a row and can launch a strong bid turning for home in the long undulating stretch. #9 Earth Strike enters for trainer Mark Casse. Declan Carroll is in the saddle and makes her 2nd off a layoff move today and has a late kick that will enjoy the added ground. Caroll wins 11% on the turf and is bred to relish the European course by Zoffany (IRE) and Another Storm who has 11 starters, 10 winners, and 9 turf winners to her credit. She would be an excellent complement to exotic wagers.

Race #10 – The $750k Dueling Grounds Derby – 1 5/16 miles turf – 6:25pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #12- Du Jour / #11 -Last Samurai / #8 – Cellist

#11 Du Jour is a late runner from the Bill Mott barn with Joel Rosario in the driver’s seat. This son of Temple City is 5 for 6 ITM on the turf and has always brought his top game every start. Look for a late run as Rosario will guide him into contention from the outside post and get a better seat to launch a late bid. He drops in class from G1 company at Saratoga, and 3rd off the layoff with an outside post to relax and find himself may be the key. #11 Last Samurai is a son of Malibu Moon for Dallas Stewart and Jon Court in the irons. The barn wins 20% off a last race win shipping in from Colonial Downs. He is stepping up in class, but his snappy late kick can have him in contention turning for home. Court is a seasoned veteran who has been riding over the undulating course for years, and when the money is on the line that can be a big factor. #8 Cellist is a speedy son of Big Blue Kitten for Rusty Arnold and Julien Leparoux. He will be the pacesetter and if allowed to dictate the pace with dawdling fractions at the half, it can be trouble for the late runners.

Del Mar

Race #6 – The $100k – I’m Smokin – 6f – 7:00 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #5 – Rock N Rye / #7 – Thirsty Always / #1 – Zuboshi

#5 Rock N Rye is a son of Stay Thirsty and hails from the Walter Solis barn. Umbert Rispoli gets the call as this colt is a solid stalker type. Rispoli is an excellent judge of pace and wins 21% with off the pace runners. He just came off a three month break and came home a winner in the $100k Graduation Stakes. I’m looking for more of the same as the barn wins 20% with nongraded stakes and the rider is a strong finisher. #7 Thirsty Always goes to post for the Solis barn as well.  J. J. Hernadez in the irons, and drops down in class from the G2 Best Pal. He seems to fit much better in this spot and sports a sharp work to prepare. Look for an up close stalking trip. #1 Zuboshi is a speedy sort from the Peter Miller barn. Kyle Frey is in the saddle and the barn wins 23% with nongraded stakes. He won on the turf last out and was impressive. Back in today with California company, and gets the rail draw. The turf to dirt switch yields a 23% win clip for Team Miller.

Race#9 – The G2  John C. Mabee – 1 1/8 on the turf – 8:30 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #3 – Dogtag / #8- Going to Vegas / #6 – Bodhicitta

#3 Dogtag is a daughter of War Front for the Dick Mandella barn. Umberto Rispoli is in the saddle and she’s a late runner who is looking for her perfect distance. She has been the bridesmaid her last three efforts and looks to come calling late in the lane. She is regally bred and should give a good account of herself today. #8 Going to Vegas goes to post for Richard Baltas with Flavien Prat aboard. She is 5 for 6 ITM lifetime and should get a patient close up trip under Part who wins 28% with this style of runner. She’s been off for 50 days and should fire fresh off the bench. #6 Bodhicitta is a deep closing daughter of Showcasing (GB) for Richard Baltas and Kent Desormeaux has the call. 2nd time off the layoff yields a 19% win clip for the barn and Kent D should give a strong late run as they turn for home.

Race #11 – The G2 Del Mar Derby – 1 1/8 on the turf – 9:30 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #1 – Hudson Ridge / #9 – Zoffarelli / #13 – Sword Zorro

#1 Hudson Ridge hails from the Bob Baffert barn and makes a 2nd off the layoff move today. This son of American Pharoah is a stalker and has the services of turf specialist Flavien Prat. The rider and trainer team up to win 44% the past few months with limited attempts and the switch to Prat may make all the difference when the field cuts the corner at the quarter pole. #9 Zoffarelli is a closer from the Jeff Mullins barn with Drayden Van Dyke in the saddle. His one start coming over from (GB) was a big effort and had to overcome a nasty trip where he was put up in a DQ. He is 1 for 1 over the DM course and should enjoy the added ground down the lane. #13 – Sword Zorro hails from the John Sadler barn with Umberto Rispoli aboard. Sadler is winning 21% for the meet and came off a 3 month break to win the G3 La Jolla. Rispoli wins 23% on the turf, and 19% with closers. Don’t dismiss from your wagers.
