“As a real-money tournament the weekly Cash Is King tournament is the perfect practice grounds for the high-end bankroll contests,” stated Richard Nilsen, tournament director and 17x NHC qualifier. “In addition to competing for the huge grand prize, you keep your winnings each week and play without incurring any high contest takeout.”

Cash is King XII – The Best Real Money Contest exclusively at BetPTC.com

Please read the rules carefully.  Any questions should be directed to rich.nilsen @ betptc.com

The BetPTC real-money tournament is back.  Cash is King XII runs from Saturday, June 20 until the end of October, with a championship finals November 21-22, 2020.   Jump in and play at any time!  For only a one-time $50 entry fee you can play all year long!

This is a real-money contest so, in addition to any prizes, you keep whatever you win.  But that’s not all.  In a tournament environment where takeouts can go as high as 30% or even more, this is the best value in the country!

Why Cash is King? First of all, it’s fun and challenging. Plus, our contest at BetPTC.com takes away the inequities of traditional handicapping tournaments and lets you play how you want, on the tracks you want, with a very small, minimum amount of wagering.

Unlike many other tournaments, it doesn’t matter if you’re a big bettor or a small bettor. Everyone has an equal chance to win the prizes in the one-of-a-kind Cash Is King contest at BetPTC.com.  If you are wagering on the horses on the weekends, you should be participating!

To qualify for contest scoring each Saturday, you must wager a minimum of $150 in contest wagering. Play your favorite tracks and make your favorite wagers, all using a bankroll that fits your budget. There are no mandatory tracks and no specific bets required. The contest is scored on your return on investment (ROI), not on how much you wager.

WHY PLAY THIS CONTEST?

There’s no doubt … traditional handicapping tournaments aren’t for everyone. If the contest is filled with mandatory races at tracks you don’t normally play, it slants the playing field toward others in the contest who play those circuits.

Many of the real-money, big bankroll tournaments require large minimum wagering thresholds or entry fees that price most players out.  In addition, they often encourage players to go “all-in” which many players simply do not have the disposition to do.

It doesn’t have to be that way.  You can parlay a top finish in BetPTC’s Cash Is King XII into a major score on Pegasus World Cup day!  It doesn’t get any better than that.

RULES & PRIZES

Finish in first place on any Saturday feeder (dates listed below) and you qualify to compete in the November 21-22 Finals of Cash Is King XII.  There will be a maximum of 25 members eligible to compete in the Finals where a full berth to the PEGASUS CUP BETTING CHAMPIONSHIP will be given away plus thousands in other cash prizes!

How is scoring calculated?

This is an R.O.I. (Return on Investment) based contest that utilizes your regular wagering during the course of the day.  Prizes are based on ROI on the players’ accounts. ROI is calculated by dividing wagering returns by the amount wagered. BetPTC rewards are not included in the calculation. For example, a player makes $2,000 in contest-designated wagers on a Saturday and his or her return is $3,000.  The calculation for that Saturday is as follows: $3000/$2000 -1 = 50% ROI.

Contest Eligibility & Requirements

Customers who agree to these rules and wish to participate must complete the following two steps:

1) Register for the contest by completing the required registration form which allows for $50 to be deducted from your wagering account.  The Registration Form can be found here.  Funds will be manually deducted from your BetPTC account and could take up to 48 hours.  Please be sure to retain enough funds in your account for the withdrawal.

2) Wager $150 or more on any of the Saturdays during the contest dates (June 20 – October 31, 2020), using a BetPTC.com wagering account in good standing.  Wagers can only be made online through the regular BetPTC wagering interface that allows for wagers to be designated as “contest bets.”

3) Every Saturday that you participate and finish in the top 10 of the weekly leaderboard, you receive 1 point in the Leaderboard contest.  See details below.

Employees and vendors of BetPTC.com and their immediate families are not eligible.

At any time new players can join the contest by paying the entry fee and participating in the qualifying weekly feeders.

How to Play

Wagers can be only be made online through the contest platform at BetPTC.com.  Players must check the box that indicates that they want the wager(s) included in their contest bets for the day. Wagers flagged as contest bets can not be cancelled or will result in disqualification of that player for that particular day.

Contestants can verify that a wager was properly designated as a contest bet by clicking on ‘Account Activity’ or by the ‘c’ indicator under the ‘Sent Bets’ tab.  It is the players’ responsibility to make sure that the wagers they want included in the contest are designated appropriately.

Wagers can be made on any type of bet that BetPTC accepts for all tracks.

Wagers can be made on any tracks of the player’s choice on any of the Saturdays during the contest date range. To qualify for contest play on a given Saturday, registered members must wager a minimum of $150 in contest bets during the course of the day. There is no maximum limit to how much can be wagered.

Wagers for each Saturday begin with the racing day on Saturday late morning.  Wagers made late on Friday night past Midnight ET will NOT count towards Saturday’s scoring. And wagers made on Saturday racing that occur AFTER Midnight ET will count towards Saturday’s scoring.

Weekly Prizes and the Championship Prizes are based on ROI on the players’ accounts.

Weekly and Annual Leaderboards will be displayed via a link on the homepage at www.betptc.com

How to Win

Meet the wagering requirement and finish the day with a higher ROI than other BetPTC members who participate in the contest.

Leaderboard Contest – 1st Half / 2nd Half

Every Saturday that you participate, meet the minimum wagering requirement, and finish in the top 10 weekly standings, you receive 1 point in the Leaderboard contest.

The maximum number of Leaderboard points a member can earn in a given week is 1 point.  The minimum number of Leaderboard points a member can earn in a given week is 0 points.

Tiebreaker: In the event of a tie for the 1st half or 2nd half prizes, the tie will go to the player with the most 1st place weekly finishes during that stage of the tournament.  If still tied, the players will share the cash prize accordingly.

FINALS WEEKEND: November 21-22, 2020.

Weekly Prizes for the Cash Is King X Contest

Wagering Rules for Finals

Cash Is King XII Championship Finals on November 21-22, 2020.

Finalists must wager $250 or more in contest wagers over each day of the November 21-22, 2020 weekend to be eligible for any of the prizes.

Tiebreakers for Prizes:

If there is a tie for the weekly prize, the tie will go to the player who wagered the most money on that Saturday.  If that still does not break the tie, then the player who cashed on the most individual bets will win the tie.  If that still does not break the tie, both players will earn a spot into the Finals.

Ties for the November championship finals’ prizes will be broken based on the player who participated in the most contest Saturdays throughout the year.

If this does not break the tie, the tie will be broken based on which player wagered the most amount of money over the course of the Finals’ weekend. If this does not break the tie, the player with the most Leaderboard points over the entire year will break the tie.  If that still does not break the tie, a playoff date will be chosen for the two players to compete for the championship prize.

Graded Stakes Preview for Saturday, July 23rd, 2016

Opening Weekend At Saratoga!!!

2 Year Olds Go 6 furlongs in the Historic Grade 3 Sanford!

Sar R3 (post 2:07 Eastern) The Sanford Stakes, Grade 3, 6 furlongs, 2yo.

BetPTC.com Selections:

1st – #2 Random Walk   2nd – #4 Bronson  3rd – #5 Bitumen

In this short field of five runners RANDOM WALK appears to be the quickest and should get a clear lead near the rail, often the preferred spot sprinting at the Spa.  BRONSON managed to pass a few horses in his debut and that skill may serve him well this weekend.  BITUMEN gets a cozy outside draw and may have the most upside in this field, being that he isn’t really bred to be a sprinter.  Gets perennial leading jock Javier Castellano.

Older Turf Mares Go 9 furlongs in the Grade 1 Diana!

Sar R10 (post 6:18 Eastern) The Diana Stakes, Grade 1, 9 furlongs (turf), 3up Fillies and Up.

BetPTC.com Selections:

1st – #2 Miss Temple City   2nd – #10 Isabella Sings   3rd – #6 Dacita

If MISS TEMPLE CITY can repeat her level of effort that she showed against males at Keeneland on April 15th, this is going to be a no contest blowout.  Since she was not that sharp at Royal Ascot on SOFT turf, check the conditions before you bet.  “Firm” or “Good” will be just dandy.  ISABELLA SINGS is a tough customer that always brings it on the lead.  The post #10 might not be that bad because with her natural gate speed I still think she can clear going into the first turn, and she’s been the only mare in this Hemisphere to make Tepin sweat at all in 2016.  DACITA looked like a potential champion after beating a tired Tepin at Saratoga late in the 2015 meet, but it has been a struggle for Dacita since.  Even her win last month was well below par for this race.  However, she is still trained by the grass master, Chad Brown, she has shown she can finish her races off well and she is 1 for 1 on this Saratoga course.

3yo Turf Fillies Go 8 furlongs in the Grade 2 San Clemente!

Dmr R7 (post 8:10 Eastern) The San Clemente Handicap, Grade 2, 8 furlongs (turf), 3yo fillies.

BetPTC.com Selections:

1st – #10 Stays in Vegas   2nd – #1 Belvoir Bay   3rd – #6 Be Mine

STAYS IN VEGAS gets a welcome change in distance to one mile (3-3-0-0) and it appears that she is training well.  Outside posts on the Del Mar turf course have been preferred early in the meet, and this filly is going to get “first run.”  BELVOIR BAY crushed a similar group in late December 2015 at Santa Anita, but why the long layoff?  She has not raced since.  BE MINE is a very honest filly who’s grass form fits very well with the top pick.

California Chrome and Dortmund Return To The Races In The Grade 2, 8.5 furlong San Diego Handicap!

Dmr R9 (post 9:10 Eastern) The San Diego Handicap, Grade 2, 8.5 furlongs, 3yo and up.

BetPTC.com Selections:

1st – #2 Dortmund   2nd – #6 California Chrome   3rd – #1 Hard Aces

Since two top horses are coming back to the races, I am going to side with the horse that probably will offer more value – DORTMUND, who is training well and has the natural speed to extend his perfect record at the distance (3-3-0-0).  In case you missed it, CALIFORNIA CHROME is the greatest thoroughbred money earner of all time, and his owners want to earn even more money during the rest of this successful 2016 campaign.  There is a high probability they will succeed.  HARD ACES is a decent closer that usually hits the board at this distance (13-3-2-4) and does have a touch of class about him.

Graded Stakes Preview for Saturday, June 6th, 2016

Older Males Go for Grade 1 Glory in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile!

Santa Anita, 3 and up Shoemaker Mile. 1 Mile Turf (Grade 1).

Bet PTC.com Selections (SA Race 6, 7:40 Eastern):

1st – #1 Heart to Heart   2nd – #2 Twentytwentyvision   3rd – #3 Tourist

HEART TO HEART was pressed hard through a career high (on firm) BRIS E2 pace rating and still finished well in the Makers Mark Mile at Keeneland.  With the 50 day gap between races and the inside draw from post he should be very tough to beat.  TWENTYTWENTYVISION is as honest as they come and that last “wet fast” race on the main track tells me he in on target for this spot.  TOURIST is a good animal and he has great E2 pace figures but I wonder if he’s fresh enough to contest for the win after running on May 1st, and then shipping out west.

Older Mares line up in the Grade 1 Vanity!

Santa Anita, Fillies and Mares, 3 and up Vanity Mile. 1 Mile Dirt (Grade 1).

Bet PTC.com Selections (SA Race 7, 8:00 Eastern):

1st – #2 Beholder   2nd – #4 Taris   3rd – #1 Stellar Wind

BEHOLDER is the best dirt female in the world when she’s right, and she appears to be on the top of her game again, having won her 2016 comeback race and 9 or her last 10 races.  TARIS annihilated a Grade 1 field going 7 furlongs on Derby day on a track that may have well been to her liking.  She tries the route game once again here.  STELLAR WIND is horse that needs a LOT of time between races but her works appear to be very good and it is a good spot to try to get more black type.

Midwestern Sprinters “Throw It Down” in Churchill Downs’ Grade 3 Aristides Stakes

Churchill Downs, 3 and Up Aristides Stakes. 6 Furlongs (Grade 3)

BetPTC.com.com Selections (CD Race 10, 5:21 Eastern):

1st – #3 Limousine Liberal (7/5)   2nd – #4 Union Jackson (3/1)   3rd – #5 Alsvid (3/1)

LIMOUSINE LIBERAL takes a nice class drop and his 6th place finish on May 7th was deceptively strong.  The six-furlong distance also suits (4-2-1-0).  UNION JACKSON appears to be the only plausible threat to the favorite.  He has a great win record (6-4-1-0), and his trainer picks a good time to try stakes company.  Keep in mind however his win percentage when fresh is not overwhelming (4-2-1-0, including his debut).  ALSVID on sort of a roll, having an interesting record over his last 10 starts (10-0-4-4).  Seems like a likely horse to get into the super.

Three year old Turf Routers Aim for Grade 3 Black Type in Belmont’s Pennine Ridge!

Belmont Park, 3 year olds, Pennine Ridge Stakes.  9 Furlongs Turf (Grade 3)

BetPTC.com Selections (Bel Race 8, 5:13 Eastern):

1st – #2 Camelot Kitten (8/5)   2nd – #8 Converge (6/1)   3rd – #4 Azar (5/1)

CAMELOT KITTEN woke up with the blinkers on Derby Day, paying a $39.40 win mutuel.  Can he do it again?  He might be good for another effort, so I am going to put him on top.  CONVERGE hasn’t put in his best effort in his last two races, but he has a good Belmont record and trainer Chad Brown’s “uncoupled entry mate” often wins.  AZAR was given no favors in the post draws of his last two races (12 of 12 at Turfway and 13 of 13 on Derby Day – a 0.64% chance) and finally moves inside to post 4 and keeps top grass jockey John Velazquez.  Some things to like.

The BetPTC real-money tournament is back.  Cash is King IX runs from Saturday, June 24 until the end of October*, with a championship finals November 11-12, 2017.   Jump in and play at any time!  For only a one-time $79 fee you can play in all of the contest weeks!

*Small break in August

This is a real-money contest so, in addition to any prizes, you keep whatever you win.  But that’s not all.  In a tournament environment where takeouts can go as high as 30% or even more, this is the best value in the country!

The Cash is King contest at BetPTC.com takes away the inequities of traditional handicapping tournaments and lets you play how you want, on the tracks you want, with a very small, minimum amount of wagering.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a big bettor or a small bettor. Everyone has an equal chance to win the prizes in the one-of-a-kind “Cash is King” contest at BetPTC.com.  If you are wagering with us on the weekends, you should be participating!

To qualify for contest scoring each Saturday, you must wager a minimum of only $150. Play your favorite tracks and make your favorite wagers, all using a bankroll that fits your budget. There are no mandatory tracks and no specific bets required. The contest is scored based on your return on investment (ROI), not on how much you wager.

WHY PLAY THIS CONTEST?

It’s true. Traditional handicapping tournaments aren’t for everyone. If the contest is filled with mandatory races at tracks you don’t normally play, it slants the playing field toward others in the contest who play those circuits. Cash money contests often require large minimum wagering thresholds or entry fees that price most players out.

Over the course of 17 weekends we’ll be paying back over 100% and over $20,000 in cash and prizes!

You can parlay a top two finish in this contest into a major score in Las Vegas in early 2018!

RULES & PRIZES

Finish in the top 3 on any Saturday feeder (dates listed below) or be among the top 3 not already qualified for our Finals and you qualify to compete in the November 11-12 Finals of Cash is King IX.  There will be a maximum of 48 members eligible to compete in the Finals where 2 spots to the NHC will be given away plus other great cash prizes and a “bonus” pool!

For example, a player wagers $2,000 on a Saturday and his or her return is $3,000.  The calculation for that Saturday is as follows: $3000/$2000 -1 = 50% ROI.

100% of the contest registration fees will be paid out.  80% of the contest registration fees will go towards the “Bonus” Prize Pool.  The remaining 20% will be used towards the Finals prizes.

This bonus prize pool is specifically for the players who finish in the top 3 of any Saturday feeder three or more times.  The “Bonus” Prize Pool participants will face off in competition on a select date later in the year.

For example, let’s say that 100 people register at a cost of $79 each.  That $6,320 in funds (80% of the entry fees) will go entirely to this bonus prize pool.

The “Bonus” Prize Pool will pay out as follows*:

Highest finish on November 17th: 50% of the Pool

2nd highest finish on November 17th: 30% of the Pool

3rd highest finish on November 17th: 20% of the Pool

For example, if only three players qualify for this “bonus” pool during the season, each person is guaranteed prize money in the Finals.

  * based on 3 or more eligible players.

The “Bonus” Prize Pool if only 2 players are eligible:

Highest finish on November 17th: 70% of the Pool

2nd highest finish on November 17th: 30% of the Pool

The “Bonus” Prize Pool if only 1 player is eligible:

In the event that only one person becomes eligible for the bonus prize pool, they will be guaranteed the entire prize pool provided they meet the wagering requirement on November 17, 2017.

In the unlikely event that NO player finishes in the top 3 of the Saturday feeders, then the Championship prizes will expand down to 12th place and the money distributed throughout the top positions.

Wagering Rules for Finals

Cash Is King IX Championship Finals on November 11-12, 2017

Finalists must wager $250 or more over each day of the Nov. 11-12, 2017 weekend to be eligible for any of the prizes.

The top 24 players based on ROI on Saturday, November 11 will move on to compete on Sunday, November 12.  The 24 players will enter day two with a clean slate (a zero ROI).  In other words, Saturday’s score has no bearing on Sunday’s score.  Sunday’s score alone will determine the overall winners of Cash Is King IX.

Sunday Finalists must wager $250 or more to be eligible for prize eligibility.

Wagering Rules for “Bonus” Prize Pool Funds

“Bonus” Prize Pool players only will compete on Friday, November 17, 2017.  Participants must wager $200 or more on that day in order to be eligible for Bonus Pool prizes.  This is an R.O.I. based, single-day contest which will determine the prize winners.   If only one person is eligible for the “Bonus” Prize Pool they must still wager the required minimum threshold ($200) in order to claim their prize money.

Tiebreakers for Prizes:

If there is a tie for the weekly prize, the tie will go to the player who wagered the most money on that Saturday.  If that still does not break the tie, then the player who cashed on the most individual bets will win the tie.  If that still does not break the tie, a playoff date will be chosen for the two players to compete for the Finals spot.

Ties for the championship finals’ prizes will be broken based on the player who participated in the most Saturdays throughout the year.

If this does not break the tie, the tie will be broken based on which player wagered the most amount of money over the course of the Finals’ weekend. If this does not break the tie, the player with the highest gross ROI over the entire year will break the tie.

BetPTC Cares about the Horse Players

by STRETCH

Let me tell you a story as why Premier Turf Club really does protect the horse player on their site.

One of the more stranger occurrences happened just over a week ago at Hialeah race track. For the first time ever I didn’t win the leg I had “ALL” in it.   I have joked in the past saying I should win this leg, except if they add a late entry. Well, they kind of did. Never seen this happen before.

Here is how it happened: I played the early pick 4 at Hialeah. Took two horses, key, all, three horses.  Total ticket cost $27.00. Won the first two legs, didn’t pay that much attention to the 3rd race as I felt it was impossible, hence the ALL leg.    I even watched the race in the smaller multiplayer screen, noticed the three horse won the race, thinking something didn’t seem right. Sure enough, I didn’t have the 3 on the ticket, knowing full well I hit the ALL button.

Right after the race the track announcer, Peter Aiello, did say hold all your pick 4 tickets until after the 4 legs are completed. I hit the last race but didn’t get paid out; how is this possible I thought when the only leg I missed was the all leg.   I eventually found out the 3 horse not scratched when betting opened, but then tote had the horse scratched for about 30 minutes (before the 1st and until just before the 2nd race was run). Sorry for the long story, but it ended up that Hialeah decided they would pay a consolation 3 out of 4.   So my 3 out of 4 ticket, getting it 9 times returned a whopping $33.50, basically $3.75 each ticket.

During the current day in question I spoke with Todd Bowker, the GM of BetPTC, and he said he would look into it. A few days later I get an email from Todd and his staff saying, “you are now getting the proper payout of almost $600.” I know he and his staff spent some time on this, which they didn’t have to, but they did. I am quite sure they had to convince Hialeah to correct the tote error. Not blaming Hialeah, tote errors happen from time to time. Just be fair to the player. Also found out it was Peter Aiello, the excellent track announcer/simulcast director at Hialeah that also agreed to make the proper payout. Peter “gets” the horse player as well, as he obviously is a horse player himself.

I wanted to tell everyone this story because I would like others to know that Premier Turf Club is concerned about the best interest of the horse player, and this long winded story proves it.

Thanks for caring about the horse player.
