The major danger. #6 Our Country comes from the barn of George Weaver and Manny Franco is the reinsman. Johnny V has been having quite the year and winning this race in the Farish colors should cap off a great summer. #1 Tacitus is a son of Tapit for Bill Mott and Jose Ortiz. 3rd off, and a beaten favorite last out should have this gutsy colt ready to turn the tables on the top choice. #4 Preservationist is a speedy son of Arch who should provide a quick pace. His win in the G1 Churchill Downs was solid and Steve Asmussen brings his go to rider in Ricardo Santana looking to wire the field. #2 McKenzie is a son of Street Sense with Mike Smith in the irons for Bob Baffert. His 3rd off the layoff move yields a 26% win clip. He is a perfect stalking type cutting back to a one turn mile.

Race #10 – G1 Manhattan – 1 1/4 on the turf – 5:36 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #8 – Bricks and Mortar / #10 Channel Maker / #4 Qurbaan

#8 Bricks and Mortar is a son of Giant’s Causeway for trainer Chad Brown. 3rd off the layoff looking for his 5th straight win. When he won the G1 Pegasus World Cup Turf he found another gear that day. He is 3 for 3 ITM at Belmont and 1 for 1 at the distance. Look for a late rush in the lane. #10 Channel Maker from the barn of Bill Mott with Joel Rosario in the irons. This is his 2nd off the layoff and should be right on the pace. Winning the G1 Man O’ War shows he is in great form and should be right in the mix turning for home. #4 Qurbaan comes from the barn of Kiaran McLaughlin with Mike Smith. 3rd off for the son of Speightstown who ran a game second to the favorite. He should be a little closer with one of the best riders in the business.

Race #11 – The 151st Belmont Stakes – 1 1/2 – 6:37 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #10 – Tacitus / #8 – Intrepid Heart / #6 – Spinoff

#10 Tacitus is a son of Tapit for Bill Mott and Jose Ortiz. He’s as honest as they come and is always knocking on the door. He should be able to run the distance and the outside post will allow him to drop over and settle. He has a nice late punch and a bullet work to show readiness. #8 Intrepid Heart comes from the Pletcher barn with John Velasquez in the irons. 3rd off the layoff and adds blinkers where they win 20% on this equipment change. He stumbled at the start in the G3 Peter Pan as the post time chalk. He’ll stalk the pace and wait for his cue to take off in high gear. #6 Spinoff is a son of Hard Spun for Todd Pletcher. Javier Castellano is aboard and I would toss out his Derby trip. He should be closer than normal and Castellano wins 20% with early runners. I’m looking for an up close trip navigating the sweeping turn for home.

Shug wins 26% coming back off a beaten favorite effort looking for payback. #1 I’m So Fancy comes from the barn of Arnaud Delacour with Florent Geroux in the saddle. She’s been off for 8 months and gets first time Lasix where the trainer wins 31%. She comes in from the Curragh in Ireland and Delacour wins at a solid clip with fresh runners.

The barn wins 19% with graded stakes and 23% second time off the shelf. He’ll get a perfect stalking trip breaking from the outside. #7 Pyron hails from the barn of Steve Asmussen with his main rider Ricardo Santana in the saddle. This son of Candy Ride is a perfect 2 for 2 and ships in from Oaklawn stepping in class. Look for a stalking trip and Santana to hit the gas at the quarter pole. #3 Malpais comes from the Joe Sharp barn with Luis Saez in the driver’s seat. Ships in from Charles Town turning back in distance as he looks for his 3rd straight win. This son of Hard Spun has wicked speed and may be tough to catch.

Race #12 – The G2 Davona Dale – 1 mile – 5:01 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #1 – Jaywalk / #3 – Another Time / #5 – Champagne Anyone

#1 Jaywalk has been away from the races for four months since the BC Juvenile Fillies. She is looking to strike at first asking and that would make her five in a row right off the bench. Joel Rosario travels in from California and he has been aboard her last two impressive outings. She cuts back in distance off her victory in the BC and she has plenty of solid works at Palm Meadows. She draws the rail and that spot has been winning at 21%. #3 Another Time ships in from Woodbine two back and picks up the services of Irad Ortiz. She ran a very game third effort at TBD even though it was a troubled trip. I think it takes a couple races to get acclimated back to the dirt and she happens to have a red hot reinsman calling the shots. Look for a strong closing punch. #5 Champagne Anyone is a daughter of Street Sense looking to ship in from CD out of the G3 Forward Gal. She has a good late kick and hails from the Ian Wilkes barn. Chris Landeros makes the trip and she will come rolling late in the lane.

Race #13 – The G2 Fountain of Youth – 1 1/16 – 5:32 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #6 – Signalman / #8 – Global Campaign / #7 – Hidden Scroll

#6 Signalman comes from the barn of Ken McPeek with B.J. Hernandez in the driver’s seat. He is 5 for 5 ITM lifetime and won the G2 Kentucky Jockey Club at CD. He looked promising at two and his three year old season looks promising. He has a strong late punch and his works at GP have shown promise. #8 Global Campaign is a perfect two for two and hails from the Stanley Hough barn. He is a perfect stalking sort and his races have really shown a sign of good things to come. His works at Palm Meadows have been sparkling and I’m looking for a big effort. #7 Hidden Scroll is a lightly raced colt who is an impressive one for one. This son of Hard Spun drew off to win by 14 and Joel Rosario is aboard for a good reason. Trainer Bill Mott has been on a roll winning at a super 20% so far this meet as his runner looks to duplicate his last explosive win.

Race #14 – The G2 Mac Diarmida – 1 3/6 on the turf – 6:06 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #11 – Channel Maker / #9 – Kulin Rock / #5 – Vettori Kin

#11 Channel Maker hails from the impressive Bill Mott barn. He is making his 2nd start off the layoff and has the services of Joel Rosario. He can be a versatile stalker, and drawing the outside post may allow him time to get into position. #9 Kulin Rock has Jose Ortiz aboard for trainer Mike Maker. This son of Lonhro is 3 for 5 ITM over the GP green and Ortiz picks up the mount after a $50k starter claiming race loss. He should make a good late run and Ortiz moves him right into the game. #5 Vettori Kin ships in from Woodbine facing some very tough company. He is 5 for 11 ITM on the sod and trainer Ken McPeek can bring them ready in a hurry. B.J. Hernandez in the saddle and a big effort would not surprise at all. He is the deep closing sort and look for his silks at the top of the lane.
