Race #8 – The G2 Eddie Read – 1 1/8 on the turf – 8:30 pm

BetPTC.com Selections / #2 -United / #3 – Say the Word / #4 – Count Again

#2 United is the winner of last year’s Eddie Read and cutting back in distance for Richard Mandella and Flavien Prat. This son of Giant’s Causeway is 4 for 4 ITM at DM and is perfect going 9f. A stalker who will sit in mid pack under the patient hand of Prat should get a solid trip. Add in a sharp work and Prat’s 27% win clip on the green and we have a dangerous runner ready to fire off a 56 day break. #3 Say the Word hails from the Phil D’Amato barn with Mike Smith in the irons. He exits the G1 Shoemaker Mile rolling from the back of the pack coming off a 54 day layoff. Smith still has the hands of a conjurer when it comes time to push the button at the top of the lane. #4 Count Again is another D’Amato trainee who is one for one over the course and has the services of Joe Bravo. He is regally bred to relish the greensward and exits the G1 Turf Classic at CD where he was running from the back of the pack.

Race#10 – The G2 San Clemente – 1 mile on the turf – 9:30 pm

BetPTC.com Selections / #2 – Going Global / #9 – Madone / #12 – Closing Remarks

#2 Going Global goes postward for Phil D’Amato and Flavien Prat in the driver’s seat. She’ll come calling late in the lane and is shooting for her sixth straight win. A versatile filly who can give a well timed effort at any distance.  Part is the turf master and wins 38% teaming with the barn and sports a 27% win clip on the weeds overall. #9 Madone comes in for Simon Callaghan and exits a suspect race where she didn’t give her best effort last out. She faded down the stretch and we’re going to toss that race and look forward to her getting back to a mile where she has 4 wins from 5 starts. Juan Hernandez has the call and wins 20% with late runners. #12 Closing Remarks comes in off an eventful race where she clipped heels as the odds on favorite facing Madone. Umberto Rispoli for Carla Gaines and they look to fire right off the bench after a two month layoff.

Top Horses to Bet On Woodbine

Race#6 – The G2 Nassau -1 mike on the turf – 3:43 pm

BetPTC.com Selections / #3 – Tappitty Tappitty / #5 – Abscond / #10 – Jolie Olimpica

#3 Tappitty Tappitty is a late runner from the Mark Casse barn making her 2nd start of 2021. She is 6 for 6 ITM over the Woodbine turf and Patrick Husbands in the saddle. She is bred to love the turf and appears this is her home track where she is eligible to improve making the 2nd start off a break from the races. #5 Abscond is a stalker dropping in class for Eddie Kenneally with a sharp work to prepare. She is 1 for 1 at Woodbine and this stalker will try and negotiate the perfect trip after shipping in from Belmont in the G1 Just A Game. #10 Jolie Olimpica hails from the Josie Carroll barn where they are winning 27%. BetPTC.com Selections / #5 – Sistercharlie / #6 – Starship Jubilee / #1 – Call Me Love

#5 Sistercharlie hails from the Chad Brown barn and is 2 for 2 at Saratoga. She’s a solid late runner who has been on the shelf for 8 months. Her last race was the BC FM Turf and she finished a big 3rd. She loves the distance and Johnny V fits like a glove. This looks like the kickoff for 2020. #6 Starship Jubilee has been away for 4 months from TBD. Kevin Attard is the trainer with Javier Castellano in the irons. She’s looking for 4 in a row and looks to make her presence felt stalking just off the pace. #1 Call Me Love goes to post for Christophe Clement and cuts back from 10f and bred to relish the green. Her work is cut out today, but can easily be a player in the field.

Race #10 – The G-1 Vanderbilt – 6f – 6:16 pm

BetPTC.com Selections / #4 – Volatile / #2 – Whitmore / #3 – Firenze Fire

#4 Volatile enters for Steve Asmussen and his go to rider Ricardo Santana. They are looking for four in a row off a 49 day layoff. He should stalk the pace and pounce when asked. His last race at CD was very impressive and it is time to take his skills to the Spa. #2 Whitmore hails from the Moquett barn with Joel Rosario in the irons. A long range closer who will need plenty of early speed to have him in top gear turning for home. He is 1 for 1 at the Spa and exits OP where the competition was tip top this season. #3 Firenze Fire enters for Kelly Breen and Irad Ortiz in the saddle. The perfect stalker who fits the field well. His victory in the G2 True North was a great prep turning back in distance.

BetPTC.com Selections / #1 – She’s So Special / #3 – Laura’s Light / #4 – Over Attracted

#1 She’s So Special comes from the Peter Miller barn with Flavien Prat in the driver’s seat. She goes from a sprint to a route and will jet out for the lead. She’s been off 49 days off a last race win where the barn scores at a 25% clip. #3 Laura’s Light is a daughter of Constitution coming off a 56 day break. She is 5 for 6 ITM lifetime and should be right on the lead under Abel Cedillo who wins with 21% of his speed runners. #4 Over Attracted enters for Carla Gaines and Mike Smith in the saddle. She’ll come running late, and since shipping over from France in March has a fast closing 2nd and some very good works. I think she’ll be a major danger in here.

Race #10 – The G-2 San Diego – 1 1/16 – 9:30 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #5 – Maximum Security / #1 – Higher Power / #4 – Combatant

#5 Maximum Security comes in for Bob Baffert and Abel Cedillo picking up the mount. He exits a big win in the Saudi Cup and been off 4 months. He’s a gamer and will jump right to the lead. Backs up from 10f and is one for one at DM. Draws the rail and can be a dangerous foe if Maximum Security runs into any problems. He should be a player in your exotics. #4 Combatant  is a long range closer for John Sadler and Drayden Van Dyke. Exits the G2 Oaklawn Hcp and had a tough trip. He’ll come calling late, and could be a nice addition to your exotics.

BetPTC.com Selections / #2 – Jack the Umpire / #1 – Sir Winsalot / #5 – X Clown

#2 Jack the Umpire is a son of Bodemeister who is 1 for 1 over the Delta strip. Tommy Pompell in the irons and he is a perfect stalker going a route of ground today. He should be forwardly placed as he attempts to give them the slip down the backside. #1 Sir Winsalot comes in for the Ken McPeek barn off a win at Kee. He draws the rail under Gerard Melancon and sports a sharp work to prepare. He’s been routing and the distance should be no problem. Steps up in class and since moving from the turf he looked like a new runner. #5 X Clown makes his 2nd off the layoff for this son of Jimmy Creed. The LA bred should get an up close stalking trip waiting to pounce under Tyler Woodley.

Del Mar

Race #8 – The G3 Native Diver – 1 1/8 – 7:00 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #6 – Two Thirty Five / #4 – Roadster / #2 – Midcourt

#6 Two Thirty Five comes from the Richard Baltas barn with Abel Cedillo in the saddle. This son of Stay Thirsty always comes running and the added distance may help his cause. 2nd time off of the layoff and is 4 for 7 ITM at DM. He has faced some tough runners in the past and comes in fresh with a solid prep. #4 Roadster is a son of Quality Road for Bob Baffert. He’s going from a sprint to a route where Baffert wins 28% and comes in with the perfect prep for longer distance and a softer field. He looks the one to beat, but I’m using underneath for value. #2 Midcourt is a son of Midnight Lute seeking his fourth win. He does take a major step in class but trainer John Sheriffs knows how to bring them ready. Look for a solid closing effort under Victor Espinoza.

His dam Westside Singer has 2 starters, 2 winners, 1 stakes winner, and 2 turf winners to her credit. She’s a closing type and owns a bullet work while cutting back to a perfect distance. #8 Starship Jubilee ships in from Woodbine off a 56 day layoff. She is bred to relish the greensward and her works are solid. Jose Lezcano in the saddle and trainer Kevin Attard wins 18% with graded stakes. The forecast calls for sunny and dry conditions and she hasn’t seen a firm turf since January at GP. A stalker who should be just off Scottish Jig getting a garden trip. Two back she was a beaten favorite to Secret Message and they know each other well. #2 Fifty Five comes from the barn of Chad Brown with Javier Castellano winning 26% together. She is 18 for 19 ITM on the turf and the New York bred can get motoring late in the lane. Look for her at the quarter pole skimming the hedge.

After winning the Fleur De Lis at CD she has stepped up her game. She’s been knocking heads with Midnight Bisou and has been finishing behind her. Today is her turn and look for a strong late kick with Ortiz who wins 21% with late runners. #1 Midnight Bisou is a daughter of Midnight Lute for trainer Steve Asmussen with Mike Smith in the saddle. She’s hit the board at the Spa but hasn’t been able to seal the deal. She is seeking her 6th straight win drawing the rail post into the short first turn run. Smith will get her in good shape and look for a renewed battle with Elate. #5 Wow Cat is a daughter of Lookin At Lucky for Chad Brown and John Velasquez in the irons. 2nd start of the year as she is 3 for 3 ITM at Saratoga. This gal was a beaten favorite in the G3 Shuvee and that may have been a perfect prep for today. She shows a snappy work on August 17 and faced some pretty tough gals coming into the race. She’ll be calling late in the lane.

#6 Ya Primo is a son of Mastercraftsman (IRE) for Chad Brown and Jose Ortiz. He gave a solid account of himself in the G2 Bowling Green first time in the states getting Lasix. Draws the rail and owns two bullet works looking to stalk the speed and turn it loose down the lane. #8 Channel Maker comes in for Bill Mott and Joel Rosario. 2nd off the layoff and was wide most of his last trip in the G2 Bowling Green. He still managed a solid 4th as the race was better than appeared on paper. He shows good works and Mott wins 22% off a beaten favorite loss. Look for a mid flight trip moving around the far turn. #9 Sadler’s Joy is a son of Kitten’s Joy for trainer Thom Albertrani and Jose Lezcano. He is 4 for 7 ITM at the Spa and makes his 2nd start of the year. It looks like the Breeders’ Cup is on his mind and was closing quick last out only to get blocked multiple times down the lane. A clean trip and a new rider may make a big difference today.

BetPTC.com Selections / #6 – Tacitus / #7 – Mucho Gusto / #2 – Code of Honor

#6 Tacitus comes from the barn of Bill Mott and Jose Ortiz. Blinkers on today and was a beaten favorite last out where the barn comes back to win 23%. 2nd time off the layoff, and if that bullet work is any indication I think we’ll see a tough son of Tapit kicking in late. He runs solid every time and the blinkers should keep his mind on business. #7 Mucho Gusto comes from the barn of Bob Baffert with Joe Talamo in the saddle. 2nd best in the Haskell Stakes and Baffert is 1 for 1 at the Spa. He went home to Del Mar to work and comes back fresh and ready. Look for a closeup trip and Talamo wins 20% with early style runners. This son of Mucho Macho Man should be right near the engine as soon as the gates open. #2 Code of Honor hails from the barn of Shug McGaughey with John Velasquez in the saddle. He’s been off 49 days and 1 for 1 at the Spa. He cruised in the G3 Dwyer as a prep and should be right in the mix. He broke his maiden at the Spa and Johnny V knows this son of Noble Mission well. I like his work tab and Shug comes out strong on marquee days.

#5 Restless Rider is a daughter of Distorted Humor exiting the BC Juvenile Fillies finishing a solid second. She is 3 for 3 ITM at CD and drops down from G1 company to face an impressive group of ladies. She’s a strong closer for trainer Ken McPeek, and he has said nothing but sweet things about this gal. There should be a solid pace and she’ll mow them down with B.J. Hernandez in the irons. #8 Break Curfew comes in for the Chad Brown barn under Javier Castellano. She wired the field in her debut and was very impressive. She stretches out to two turns and should show the way down the backstretch. If she duplicates her last effort she could be extremely dangerous. #1 Gold Credit is a daughter of Goldencents for Ignacio Correas winning 33%. She won going 7f at Keeneland and had an eventful trip. The rail has been winning 18% and John Velasquez has the call. Correas wins 18% with his graded stakes runners.

#1 Signalman hails from the KenMcPeek barn with B.J. Hernadez in the irons. The rail has been the place to be and locks horns against Knicks Go once again. “Knicks” should be flying from the gate once again and Signalman is 2 for 2 ITM at CD and goes third time Lasix. I like his chances today as he looks to turn the tables. He will come calling late in the lane. #13 Knicks Go is a son of Paynter for trainer Ben Colebrook. Two back he shocked Keeneland winning the G1 Breeders’ Futurity at boxcar odds. He has a quick turn of foot and ever since he came off the synthetic in Chicago he has matured nicely. If left alone he could turn out the lights quickly. #7 Limonite is a son of Lemon Drop Kid and was a beaten chalk last out at CD. This is a jump up the class ladder and he looks to be a nice runner. He may be that perfect addition to your exotics.

BetPTC.com Selections / #7 – Expert Eye / #5 – Oscar Performance / #2 – Next Shares

#7 Expert Eye is the son of Acclamation for Sir Michael Stoute. He gets first Lasix and has been a little short of getting the mile distance. Europeans have a way of getting added distance on these days and has the services of Frankie Dettori in irons. The 55 days away from the races may have him in top order and the connections like their chances. #5 Oscar Performance is a son of Kittens’ Joy for trainer Brian Lynch with Jose Ortiz in the saddle. He is a perfect 3 for 3 at the distance and exits the G1 Woodbine Mile which has served as a great prep for this affair. Ortiz is an excellent judge of pace and should try and wire the field. #2 Next Shares is a son of Archarcharch and exits the G1 Shadwell Mile at Keeneland. Also a key prep for this race and 6 for 9 ITM going the distance. Respected rider Tyler Gafflione in the saddle and trainer Richard Baltas wins 17% on the turf. This closer will come calling late.

Race #9 – The Breeders’ Cup Distaff – 1 1/8 – 4:16 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #11 – Monomoy Girl / #2 – Abel Tasman / #10 – Blue Prize

#11 Monomoy Girl is a daughter of Tapizar for trainer Brad Cox. She is 3 for 3 ITM at Churchill and was a beaten favorite in the G1 Cotillion at Parx.  She won and was disqualified but her works are showing readiness to roll. Florent Geroux in the irons and she is 2 for 2 at the distance. If she runs back to the G1 CCA Oaks she’s gonna be tough to handle. #2 Abel Tasman comes to post for Bob Baffert and Mike Smith in the saddle. Toss out the last race where she bobbled and came off slow. According to Baffert she spiked a fever and wasn’t feeling herself. 3rd start off the layoff, solid works and 4 for 4 ITM at the distance makes her a player. #10 Blue Prize is a daughter of Pure Prize for Ignacio Correas. “Jersey” Joe Bravo in the saddle and she is 5 for 5 ITM at CD. That was a nice win in the G1 Spinster and Correas is winning 44% looking for 4-in-a-row.

Race #10 – The G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf – 1 1/2 on the turf – 4:56 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #12 – Waldgeist / #2 – Enable / #1 – Talismanic

#12 Waldgeist is a son of Galileo for the Andre Fabre yard. This is his 3rd start off the layoff and ran a game 2nd in the Gr1 Arc de Triomphe. He looks to be sitting on a huge effort and the top shelf connections have been speaking good things all week. #2 Enable is an ultra talented filly for trainer John Gosden. She has rolled off eight straight wins and looks to be the one to beat. Frankie Dettori is the reinsman and she’s been training well at Churchill Downs applying the final touches. She is 3 for 3 at the distance and her only knock is that Arc winners are 0 for 8 winning this event. #1 Talismanic exits a key race in the Gr1 Arc and won this event last year paying a handsome price. Is a repeat in the cards? He has excellent breeding and will come calling late in the lane.

Race #11 – The G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic – 1 1/4 – 5:44 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #2- Thunder Snow / #14 – Accelerate / #6 – McKinzie

#2 Thunder Snow has been looking good in the morning works over the CD oval. This is his 3rd start off the layoff and ran a huge effort in the G1 Jockey Gold Cup getting bested by a neck at the wire. He is 3 for 4 ITM going 1 1/4 and should be in mid pack poised to pounce. #14 Accelerate is looking to go four in a row for trainer John Sadler. Joel Rosario is the reinsman and has been aboard his last two impressive wins. He loves the distance going 4 for 4 and won the G1 Pacific Classic by 12 lengths. Loves the distance, the rider fits like a glove, and he’s gonna be tough down the lane. #6 McKinzie is a son of Street Sense who won the Kentucky Derby. Bob Baffert and Mike Smith team up and they do every good work when the money is on the line. Should be forwardly placed with a rider who is an excellent judge of pace. Can be a major player today.

I’m looking for a big rally at the top of the lane. #6 Elate comes to post for Bill Mott. She is two for two ITM at the Spa and makes a 2nd off the layoff move shipping in from Del Mar. Jose Ortiz in the saddle as he looks to turn the tables on “Abel” from last year’s meeting. Her works have been solid over the deep Oklahoma training track. Ortiz will know just when to push the button. #4 Wow Cat is a daughter of Lookin At Lucky for trainer Chad Brown. This Chilean bred was bumped soundly leaving the starting gate last out as a beaten favorite in the G3 Shuvee. Overall, it was a perfect prep and John Velasquez will have her as a major player on the lead.

Race #10 – The G1 Sword Dancer – 1 1/2 on the turf – 4:49 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #10 Sadler’s Joy / #6 Bigger Picture / #4 Hi Happy

#10 Sadler’s Joy is a son of Kitten’s Joy for trainer Thom Albertrani. Javier Castellano in the saddle and is 4 for 5 ITM over the course. He made a strong late rally last out in the G2 Bowling Green and gets more distance today. Look for a sustained rally as he comes calling at the top of the stretch. #6 Bigger Picture comes to post for trainer Mike Maker. This is his third off the shelf move and has Irad Ortiz in the irons. He was 6 wide in the G2 Bowling Green and Ortiz is one of the best finishers in the game. Look for a big time effort today. #4 Hi Happy is a son of Pure Prize from the Todd Pletcher barn. John Velasquez in the saddle and was a beaten favorite in the G2 Bowling Green. All three selections exit this key race.  This was his first effort in a month and Pletcher wins 25% with beaten favorites. They look to turn the tables today.

Race #11 – The G1 Travers – 1 1/4 – 5:44 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #9 Good Magic / #5 Vino Rosso / #8 Mendelssohn

#9 Good Magic is a talented son of Curlin for the Chad Brown barn. Jose Ortiz in the driver’s seat and they are making their 2nd start off the layoff. He owns a bullet work in preparation as he is maturing into quite a special runner. He has a talented reinsman in the saddle and looks to be finding himself. Look for a very strong account of his talents today. #5 Vino Rosso comes in for the Todd Pletcher barn. He’s a son of Curlin and was a beaten favorite in the G2 Jim Dandy showing strong signs. Toss out the Triple Crown races and you’ll see a runner who is deceivingly good. If you get anywhere near double digit odds he’ll be tough not to use. Look for a solid effort against a very nice field. #8 Mendelssohn is a solid son of Scat Daddy for trainer Aiden O’Brien. Ryan Moore stays in the saddle and was a beaten favorite in the G2 Dwyer. He still gave a good account of himself and is capable of much more. O’Brien thinks enough of him to have him in this talented field and that’s good enough for me to use in exotics. I think we’ll see a rejuvenated runner ready to give an A + effort.

Saratoga Race #9 – The G1 Alabama – 1 1/4 – 5:40 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #3 Midnight Bisou / #8 Talk Veuve to Me / #2 Eskimo Kisses

#3 Midnight Bisou is a daughter of Midnight Lute for trainer Steve Asmussen. “Money Man” Mike Smith in the saddle and she looks to be the one to beat. There’s no Monomoy Girl here, and that’s a big plus for this gal going 3rd off the layoff. She should relish the stalking trip just off the speed and be a push button runner for Smith at the quarter pole.

#8 Talk Veuve to Me comes in for trainer Rodolphe Brisset.  After running 2nd to Monomoy Girl in the G1 Acorn she put on a solid effort at Indiana Grand winning by daylight. She’ll be the speed and Leparoux fits her like a glove. She’ll have to be on task as Midnight Bisou will be tracking very closely.

#2 Eskimo Kisses comes from the Kenny McPeek barn and has the services of Jose Ortiz. She’s only run once since the Kentucky Oaks finishing 4th. She has the look of a wildcard in here, and maybe she’s matured making her 2nd start off the layoff. This will be a big test and should get a piece of the pie.

Del Mar

Race #8 – The G1 Del Mar Oaks – 1 1/8 on the turf – 8:40 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #7 Colonia / #6 Paved / #12 Animosity

#7 Colonia is a daughter of Champs Elysees for the Graham Motion barn. Joel Rosario in the irons as she makes her 2nd start since shipping in from Saint Cloud in France. She won the Hatoof in Chicago on her first effort in the states, and this begs the question how good is this gal? Since leaving the synthetic and getting Lasix she was pretty impressive closing from the clouds.

#6 Paved is a daughter of Quality Road with Drayden Van Dyke in the saddle. She is one for one ITM at Del Mar and makes her 3rd start off the layoff for Michael McCarthy. She won the G2 Honeymoon at Santa Anita and gets a new rider. Overall she is 5 for 6 ITM on the turf.

#12 Animosity goes to post for trainer Patrick Gallagher. Tyler Gaffalione in town to ride this daughter of Animal Kingdom, and should be a major pace player in here today.

Del Mar Race #10 – G1 Pacific Classic – 1 1/4 – 9:43 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #5 Accelerate / #1 The Lieutenant / #4 Roman Rosso

#5 Accelerate is son of Looking At Lucky for trainer John Sadler. He is 4 for 5 ITM at Del Mar and exits an impressive win in the G1 Gold Cup at Santa Anita. Sadler is loaded this year with Catalina Cruiser and this fella has been pointed to this race. Joel Rosario is the pilot and he knows his way to the winner’s circle.

#1 Lieutenant is a half brother to Justify for trainer Michael McCarthy. He was a handsome price finishing 2nd in the G2 Suburban and the rail is winning 25% so far this meet. This is a tough test but he has faced some big names in the past. Don’t count him out.

#4 Roman Rosso hails from the Bob Baffert barn with top rider Flavien Prat aboard. This Argentinian runner is 6 for 8 lifetime and Baffert tosses him in the deep water. There’s some real upside to this South American tough guy and Baffert wouldn’t have him in if there wasn’t some promise.
