She is a pure speedster and is 3rd off the layoff and a beaten favorite last out. She should grab the lead and carry it from start to finish. #4 Concrete Rose is a daughter of Twirling Candy for trainer Rusty Arnold. Julien Leparoux in the irons as she comes off a two month layoff. She’s looking for three in a row and is a perfect stalker. She beat “Newspaper” last out in the G3 Edgewood impressively and is four for five with wins lifetime. She’ll be a little closer with added distance. #5 Cafe Americano is a daughter of Medaglia d’ Oro for Chad Brown. She is a perfect two for two and been working lights out in the morning. Javier Castellano in the saddle and he is winning 23% on the turf. Look for her to launch a strong rally as she gets the acid test.

Race #8 – The G2 John Nerud Stakes – 7f – 5:05 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #7 – Do Share / #9 – Promises Fulfilled / #4 – Nicodemus

#7 Do Share is a son of Candy Ride for trainer Mike Maker with Tyler Gafflione in the saddle. He was bumped soundly last out in the G1 Churchill and still finished a game fourth. He is three for six ITM at Belmont and with a sharp 4f work coming into the race is looking for a top effort. #9 Promises Fulfilled hails from the Dale Romans barn. This son of Shackleford has Luis Saez in the saddle exiting the G1 Metropolitan. He has plenty of speed and turns back to 7f. Going from a route to sprint to route they win 35%. #4 Nicodemus is a son of Candy Ride for trainer Linda Rice and Jose Ortiz in the driver’s seat. He is a late closer and gets an added half a furlong to come rolling. Ortiz wins 14% on closers and Rice excels with sprinters winning 25%.

#3 Seismic Wave is a son of Tapit for trainer Bill Mott and Joel Rosario. He is a stone cold closer who is 2 for 2 ITM over the course. Rosario is winning 22% with closers and fits this colt like a glove. #12 Demarchelier is a son of Dubawi (IRE) for Chad Brown with Javier Castellano. This is his second off and is a perfect 3 for 3. He’s a strong late runner and look for him to come calling late in the lane. #8 Social Paranoia is a son of Street Boss for trainer Todd Pletcher and Manny Franco in the saddle. He’s been a beaten favorite in his last two trips and is looking to reward his backers. He should stalk mid flight and make a run at the pacesetters.

Saratoga

Race #8 – G2 Lake Placid – 1 1/8 on the turf – 4:49 pm ET

BetPTC.com Selections – #6 – Uni / #3 – La Coronel / #4 – Proctor’s Ledge

#6 – Uni = Irad Ortiz aboard for Chad Brown winning (31%) the past few months. They bring a talented gal who shipped over from France in May. – Uni got Lasix for her first trip in the states, and the barn wins (18%) with medication. Her first time out had her closing stoutly against New Money Honey. She gets her 2nd trip to the races and cuts back in distance from 1 1/4 – 1 1/8. Her two morning works are sharp and signal readiness to perform. #3 – La Coronel = Florent Geroux in the irons for Mark Casse. This daughter of Colonel John ships back from Royal Ascot off a 5th place finish in the Gr.1 Coronation Stakes. She’s been on the shelf for 57 days and is 1/1 at the Spa. Her work on 8/11 shows she is ready for a prime effort. #4 – Proctor’s Ledge = Javier Castellano in the saddle exiting a G3 Lake George win. This daughter of Ghostzapper is moving up the class ladder and has plenty of solid races to build upon. This is her 2nd time with Lasix and trainer Brendan Walsh wins (23%) with this addition.

 Race #9 – G1 Alabama – 1 1/4 – 5:22 pm ET

BetPTC.com Selections – #7 – Elate / #1 -New Money Honey / #6 – Salty

#7 – Elate = Jose Ortiz aboard for Bill Mott and was closing with a strong late kick in the G1 Coaching Club Oaks last out.She was kept in tight down the lane and denied any clear sailing to get rolling. Ortiz is winning (20%) at the meet and (21%) with the Mott barn. She’s been training well and looks to be ready for a top-notch effort. #1 – New Money Honey = Javier Castellano in the irons for Chad Brown and they get their picture taken (26%) as a team the past few months. She’s been a tuff turf runner and the barn makes the turf – dirt switch where they score (30%) on the move. You have to respect Brown’s choice, and if she takes to the main track it could be a long day for the other ladies. #6 – Salty = Tyler Gafflione for Mark Casse and they exit the G1 Coaching Club Oaks. She was heavily bet and leapt into the air prior to the start. The bullet work and a clean trip could have her right in the mix at the top of the lane.

Del Mar

Race #8 – G1 Pacific Classic – 1 1/4 – 8:30 pm ET

BetPTC.com Selections – #8 – Arrogate / #2 – Collected / #4 – Sorry Erik

#8 – Arrogate = Mike “Money Man” Smith in the saddle for Bob Baffert winning (42%) the past 60 days. His last effort has the racing world scratching their head after the G2 San Diego Handicap. I’m tossing out the race as a clunker or a delayed Dubai World Cup victory jinx after winning the race at Meydan. His record is 8/9 ITM and even the great ones strike out. Baffert kept her close in California and he’s been training lights out. I’m looking for a big effort that will have us talking about events in the next few months.  #2 – Collected = Martin Garcia for Bob Baffert. He could be an insurance “rabbit” to keep the pace honest to set up Arrogate. This son of City Zip is a tough customer looking for his 4th victory in a row. #4 – Sorry Erik = Kent Desormeaux for his brother Keith. They enter off a win in an O.C. $75k on the turf and I’m going back two races where he faced Irap and Girvin. This has been a key move as runners who locked horns with them have come back to run very well.

Race #10 – G1 Del Mar Oaks – 1 1/8 on the turf – 9:30 pm ET

BetPTC.com Selections – #12- Beau Recall / #10- Dream Dancing / #5 – Con Te Partino

#12 – Beau Recall = Joe Talamo in the saddle for Simon Callaghan. Ships back from Belmont in the G1 Belmont Oaks where she finished 6th. She is 5/7 ITM on the turf and has been training lights out. Cuts back from 1 1/4 – 1 1/8 and will come calling late in the lane under the strong urging of Talamo. #10 – Dream Dancing = Julien Leparoux in the driver’s seat for Mark Casse. Daughter of Tapit is 6/8 ITM on the turf and was caught wide last out in the G3 Lake George. Leparoux fits her well and he’ll be moving late in the lane off two blistering works over the Saratoga turf. #5 – Con Te Partino = Flavien Prat for trainer Wesley Ward. She ships back from Royal Ascot off a win in the Sandringham Hcp and looks to continue with her 3rd start of the 2017 season. Ward would not be sending if he didn’t feel she’s ready and I’m looking for a solid effort in hopes of a Breeders’ Cup plan in her future.

He is maturing into a machine and has some big plans for later down the road. #5 – Keen Ice = Jose Ortiz for Todd Pletcher (23%) the past 2 months. Tyler Gafflione in the saddle and will have an honest pace to take a closing run. Rider and trainer have been winning (38%) the past two months and today they wear the Calumet silks. #5 – Impressive Edge = Robby Albarado for Dale Romans and they are 2nd off the layoff. They bring a son of Harlan’s Holiday to post and have faced some tough guys in his past. BetPTC.com Selections – #6 – Diamondsandpearls / #1 – Surrender Now / #2 – Spectator

#6 – Diamondsandpearls = Mike Smith aboard for Bob Baffert (67%) the past 60 days and this daughter of Congrats had an impressive maiden win. Her works are hot and a stalking trip off the pace may be the order of the day. Smith comes alive for the big races and it is never too early to start finding yourself a 2-yr-old filly for down the road. #1 – Surrender Now = Flavien Pratt and Peter Miller come to post with a daughter of Morning Line. Her sire wins (19%) with her first-time starters and did not disappoint that day. #2 – Spectator = Daughter of Jimmy Creed wins (31%) with his firster’s and did not disappoint winning by 5 3/4 for the Phil D’Amato barn. Race #8 – G2 Yellow Ribbon – 1 1/16 on the turf – 8:30 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections – #6 – Pretty Gal / #7 – Cambodia / #4 – Juno

#6 – Pretty Gal = Mike Smith in the irons for Paulo Lobo. Smith wins (20%) with his turf runners and this daughter of Harlan’s Holiday is cutting back from 1 1/8 – 1 1/16. She drops in class from the G1 Gamely and could track from the back of the pack looking to make a sustained late rally. She is 6/10 ITM on the sod and is in the right hands today. #7 – Cambodia = Draden Van Dyke for Thom Proctor and they bring a daughter of War Front to post making her second off the layoff. She ships in from Parx and Proctor wins (21%) with a new face in the barn. She is 8/8 ITM on the green and can play the role of an up-close stalker. #4 – Juno = Gary Stevens is the pilot for Neil Drysdale and he wins (23%) on the weeds. She can dictate the pace and lose the field if left alone. She is 7/10 ITM on the greensward, and since getting Lasix three back she’s been knocking on the door.

I’m looking for a repeat getting better for his backers.  #7 – Direct Dial = Speedy son of Too Much Bling and his last race was an impressive run in the $150k Tremont. If you see anywhere near (4-5) that may be solid value. #6 – Dickinson = Paco Lopez in the saddle for Kiaran McLaughlin and she is 6/7 ITM on the turf. That was a solid run 1st off and Lopez fits her like a glove. It was a perfect stepping stone to build a summer campaign. #4 – Quidana = Graham Motion has a nice filly by Dubawi.
