Gulfstream Park – Late Pick Four
Race #9 – The Sunshine Forever – 1 1/16 on the turf – 4:29 pm EDT
BetPTC.com Selections / #9 – Social Paranoia / #4 – Aquaphobia / #11 – Admission Office
#9 Social Paranoia hails from the Todd Pletcher barn with Edgard Zayas in the saddle. This is his 2nd off the layoff move, and this son of Street Boss is 2 for 2 at GP. Takes a huge plunge in class and is 4 for 4 ITM at the distance. #4 Aquaphobia comes in for the Mike Maker barn and Irad Ortiz getting the nod. They are scoring 26% as a team and are 3 for 5 ITM at GP. Strong closer cutting back in distance, and his dam Pussycat Doll has 5 starters, 5 winners, and 4 turf winners to her credit. #11 Admission Office is a son of Point of Entry for Brian Lynch with Joel Rosario getting the call. He’s been off two months and drops in class. He’s a late runner backing up in distance where he is 3 for 3 ITM. If the pace is hot he’ll be a major player.
Race #10 – O.C. $25,000 – 1 mile on the turf – 5:00 pm EDT
BetPTC.com Selections / #6 – Battle of Blenheim / #11 – Shootin the Breeze / #3 – Sublime Appeal
#6 Battle of Blenheim comes in for Mike Maker and Irad Ortiz in the driver’s seat. He’s a stalking type who is 5 for 7 ITM at GP and was a beaten favorite last race. Maker wins 22% on the comeback and sports a bullet work in preparation. #11 Shootin the Breeze hails from the Graham Motion barn and has Joel Rosario in the saddle. He’s a closing type coming off a 49 day break. His last race looks like a solid prep and the switch to Rosario is a plus. #3 Sublime Appeal is a son of Succesful Appeal with Rajiv Maragh in the irons. He should play the up close stalker role who owns a sharp working coming into the race going 35.4 seven days ago.
Race #11 – O.C. $16,000 – 6f – 5:31 pm EDT
BetPTC.com Selections / #11 – Whiskey Sunrise / #10 – More than Striking / #8 – Cryogenic
#11 Whiskey Sunrise is a speedy sort who is 2 for 2 ITM over the course. Miguel Vasquez gets the nod for Michael Yates and moves up in class today. His morning works have been solid and you’ll have to catch him to beat him. #10 More than Ready has Joe Bravo in the saddle coming off a 49 day layoff. He was a beaten favorite last time out and has early speed. Bravo wins with speedy runners and trainer Jose Gallegos brings him sharp and ready. #8 Cryogenic hails from the Mike Maker barn with Chris Landeros in the driver’s seat. Makes the turf to dirt switch and the barn scores at an 18% win clip on the surface move. Look for a late kick as they start the far turn.
Race #12 – O.C. $10,000 – 1 mile – 6:02 pm EDT
BetPTC.com Selections / #2 – Trappezoid / #1 – The Robert / #3 – Pepi the Hunter
#2 Trappezoid comes in for Gerardo Quiroz who is winning 29% at the meet with Edgard Zayas aboard. A beaten favorite last out at this level and should be moving late. I’m giving him a pass on his last effort and looking for a much better effort today. #1 The Robert hails from the Guadalupe Preciado barn with Joel Rosario in the saddle. He is 1 for 1 ITM at GP and drops in class today. The rail is winning at an 18% clip and the switch to Rosario is a plus shipping in from Parx off a 3 month layoff. #3 Pepi the Hunter is a stalker with Roberto Alvarado in the saddle. He is 3 for 4 ITM at GP and has been claimed his last three efforts. He may be entered in the right spot today with a sharp work under his belt. A trip to the winner’s circle is not out of the question.
