This is his 2nd off the layoff and three for five ITM over the course. He rallied strongly in last year’s edition and Ward wins 26% with his sprinters coming in fresh. #10 Totally Boss comes from the barn of Rusty Arnold and Florent Geroux has the call. 3rd off the shelf and was impressive in victory at Ellis Park last out. Rosario will have her close to the pace as she runs extremely well coming off a layoff. #3 Kallio is a daughter of Scat Daddy with Tyler Gaffalione in the driver’s seat. She is 1 for 1 over the course and won in the shadow of the wire last out. Her dam Smokey Diplomacy has 7 starters, 6 winners, and 4 turf winners to her credit. #2 Simply Breathless comes in for Neil Drysdale and Florent Geroux. This daughter of Bated Breath (GB) has a solid late kick and exits Arlington off a beaten favorite effort. The barn wins 22% getting payback and Geroux loves the greensward winning 20%.

BetPTC.com – Horses to Watch – 1/11/16

Horses to Watch – Ed Meyer

Another week in the books and I can feel the marquee races ready to heat up. You can begin the count down when Oaklawn kicks open the doors for racing, and next weekend you’ll start seeing big time runners at Gulfstream Park and Fair Grounds.  – But, I digress. There is always plenty of action to heat up during the winter months. In keeping with that thought, you’ll want to keep your antennae’s up for these runners next time they hit the track.

Aqueduct – 1/7/16 – Race #4 – #11 – One mile on the inner track

#11 – Fly Ash = Kendrick Carmouche had the assignment, and had everything going her way. She kicked out at the 1/8th pole and started to find her best stride and even had the lead for a jump or two. – She was bested by a late flying runner and wrapped up to keep gas in the tank.

Aqueduct – 1/7/16 – Race #5 – #6 – 1 1/16 on the inner track

#6 – Pushme Pullyou = Manny Franco in the irons for Joe Orseno, and was checked up into the first turn and was bothered badly. She had to wheel out into the three or four path and lost a heap of ground. Once she got herself in order, there was a solid effort shown from the 3/8th’s pole to the wire. – A clean trip may have her in the catbird seat.

Gulfstream Park – 1/7/16 – Race #6 – #5 – 6 1/2 on the main course

#5 – Grey Glory = Luis Saez had the call for Thom Albertrani, and they plain out hooked a monster on this day by the name of Deep Sea. Saez set the tempo and did an excellent job guiding his mount. Anyone but Deep Sea in the race, and this guy wins for fun.

Gulfstream Park – 1/8/16 – Race #8 – #3 – 6 1/2 on the main track

#3 – Enchantress = Joel Rosario had the call for Todd Pletcher, and this gal was bumped soundly at the start. Rosario did an excellent job getting this gal to settle out and was all over the track trying to pick up steam down the lane. She looked a little green, and you can bet dollars to donuts Pletcher will have her all cranked up next up.

Santa Anita – 1/9/16 – Race #6 – #3 – 6 1/2f on the dirt

#3 – Let’s Meet in Rio = Kent Desormeaux handled the mount for Bob Baffert. He was in high gear rounding the final turn, and when he angled out was bumped soundly at the 3/16th’s pole. Give him pace and a clear path and it may be lights out.
