Race #11- The G1 PA Derby – 1 1/8 – 5:48 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #7 – Maximum Security / #2 – Improbable / #1 – Math Wizard

#7 Maximum Security is a speedy colt who has done little since the Derby. Jason Servis has done an excellent job bringing him ready and his A game is always on tap. Luis Saez has been the regular pilot since February and they fit like a glove. I think we’ll see him go right to the front and take it from there. If anyone pushes back, he can back off. If nobody pressures he’ll be the engine. He’s been off for two months and Servis has a couple of works under his belt over the course. #2 Improbable is the perfect stalker from the Baffert barn. He can sit back as much as needed and turn up the heat when the real running begins. Mike Smith has the call and is always feared at the windows when the big money is on the line. Should offer up a nice stretch run to be the major danger. #1 Math Wizard is a solid colt who fought the claiming ranks early in his career. He is 7 for 12 ITM lifetime and brings Edgard Zayas to launch a late bid for minor shares.

Look for a late rush in the lane. #10 Channel Maker from the barn of Bill Mott with Joel Rosario in the irons. This is his 2nd off the layoff and should be right on the pace. Winning the G1 Man O’ War shows he is in great form and should be right in the mix turning for home. #4 Qurbaan comes from the barn of Kiaran McLaughlin with Mike Smith. 3rd off for the son of Speightstown who ran a game second to the favorite. He should be a little closer with one of the best riders in the business.

Race #11 – The 151st Belmont Stakes – 1 1/2 – 6:37 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #10 – Tacitus / #8 – Intrepid Heart / #6 – Spinoff

#10 Tacitus is a son of Tapit for Bill Mott and Jose Ortiz. He’s as honest as they come and is always knocking on the door. He should be able to run the distance and the outside post will allow him to drop over and settle. He has a nice late punch and a bullet work to show readiness. #8 Intrepid Heart comes from the Pletcher barn with John Velasquez in the irons. 3rd off the layoff and adds blinkers where they win 20% on this equipment change. Javier Castellano is aboard and I would toss out his Derby trip. He should be closer than normal and Castellano wins 20% with early runners. Catch him if you can when they turn for home. #3 Mind Control has John Velasquez in the saddle and makes his 2nd start of the year. Two back he tossed in a clunker in the BC Juvenile after getting caught in tight and forced to check. He came right back and rolled in the Jerome and should lay just off the speed. #5 Haikal is a deep closer who should enjoy a field chock full of speed. He is a neck short of being three in a row and Rajiv Maragh calls the shots for the Kiaran McLaughlin barn. He will come flying late and should enjoy the added distance.

Gaffalione coming in from Florida and Maker being loaded with quality stock looks like the race is for place if he gets a clean start. #9 Curlin Grey is a strong closer for trainer Ken McPeek. This is his 3rd start off the layoff and McPeek wins 19% going from dirt to synthetic surfaces. McPeek always has to be respected when he ships into Turfway. #4 Dabo is a son of Temple City and has a nice late punch. Race #8 – The G3 Rampart – 1 mile – 3:34 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #1 – Electric Forest / #3 – Tapa Tapa Tapa / #2 – Tweeting

#1 Electric Forest is a daughter of Curlin for the Chad Brown barn.  Jose Ortiz has the call and they are winning 20% as a team. She draws the rail and goes from a sprint to a route as the barn scores 30% on the move. She goes from 7f to a mile and is a perfect stalker. Her two wins from three races are strong and her only loss was a troubled trip leaving the gate. She’ll get a good seat along the rail and get in the action around the far turn. #3 Tapa Tapa Tapa gets the services of Javier Castellano for trainer Tim Hamm. She’s been off for 7 months and has been working bullets in the morning. Her last effort in the G3 Doubledogdare at Keeneland may be a good prep. She has tactical speed and gets a rider change to the high percentage Castellano. #2 Tweeting is a daughter of Uncle Mo for trainer Jorge Navarro winning 18%. Albin Jimenez gets the nod and has tons of early foot. She’s been off for two months and may improve going back to a route from 7f. This is her third off the layoff and moves up in class. Catch her if you can.

Race #9 – The G3 My Charmer – 1 mile on the turf – 4:05 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #6 – La Moneda / #8 – Capla Temptress / #7 – Cherry Lodge

#6 La Moneda is a New York bred looking town 5th race from 6 starts. John Velasquez has the call for Thomas Morley and she’s a stone cold closer. There’s a change of riders to Johnny V and she’s been on the shelf for 56 days. She cuts back from 8.5 f to a mile and this may be what the doctor ordered. #8 Capla Temptress is a long range closer for trainer Bill Mott and “Jersey” Joe Bravo in the irons. She has not raced for two months and drops in class from the G1 QEII at Keeneland. She’s going to need a solid pace and the players look to give her a holiday wish. #7 Cherry Lodge is a stalker for the Todd Pletcher barn with Jose Ortiz in the driver’s seat. She has been off for 58 days and should go right to the lead under Ortiz who is one of the best speed riders in the nation. She is bred to carry the distance and can be dangerous if left alone.

Race #10 – The G3 Sugar Swirl – 6f – 4:36 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #7 – Dream Pauline / #4 – Stormy Embrace / #2- Awestruck

#7 Dream Pauline is a daughter of Tapit for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. She is 2 for 3 ITM with wins and comes in from CD after being forced to steady down the backstretch. 2nd start off the layoff and loves the distance going 3 for 3 ITM. She should sit back and get a great ride from Castellano and come calling late. #4 Stormy Embrace is a solid filly in the hands of Tyler Gaffalione winning 22%. She exits the BC Filly and Mare Sprint and tossed in a clunker. The drop in class should help her causes and 2nd off the layoff yields the Kathleen O’Connell barn 19% with her sprinters. I like her chances and I’m sure we’ll see good things down the road from this young lady. #2 Awestruck is a Rusty Arnold trainee with B.J. Hernandez in the irons. This is her 3rd off the shelf and she is 2 for 2 ITM over the GP oval. Look for Hernandez to come rolling late in the final furlong. She has a sharp work to prepare and can be  a major player today.

Race #4 – The G2 Demoiselle – 1 1/8 – 1:02 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #7 – Molto Bella / #1 – Enliven / #6 – Afleet Destiny

#7 Molto Bella is a daughter of Violence for the Ian Wilkes barn. Javier Castellano has the call and she can sport a good turn of early foot. Two back she went from a sprint to a one turn mile at CD in the Rags to Riches four wide gaining on the winner. She should benefit from the high percentage Castellano 25% at Aqueduct and be much closer to the action. 2nd route races yield a 21% win clip from the Wilkes barn. #1 Enliven comes from the Kiaran McLaughlin stable and is a stone cold closer. She ran a very game 3rd in the G3 Tempted and gets the services of Jersey Joe Bravo. The rail is winning 28% and she’ll come calling late in the lane. #6 Afleet Destiny comes off a quick closing effort at Parx for Uriah St. Lewis with strong closing rider Irad Ortiz in the irons. She’s been knocking on the door and received her diploma last out on the step up in class.

Race #8 – The G2 Remsen – 1 1/8 – 3:12 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #5 – Network Effect / #6 – Maximus Mischief / #3 -Bourbon War

#5 Network Effect is a solid closer in a race filled with speed. He hails from the Chad Brown barn with Javier Castellano in the driver’s seat. He had a very nice maiden break at Saratoga and came rolling 6 wide last out. He should relish the added distance and Brown wins 36% going second time at the route distance. #6 Maximus Mischief is a speedy colt who is seeking his third straight win coming in from Parx. Frankie Pennington comes in for the ride and will be sending this son of Into MIschief right to the lead. He has a bullet work on 11/16 at Parx and looks ready for the next step. #3 Bourbon War comes from the Mark Hennig barn with Irad Ortiz in the irons. He has a win at the “Big A” and appears to be a perfect stalking sort. Ortiz is an excellent closing rider and this son of Tapit may get right in the game at the top of the stretch.

Race #9 – The G1 Cigar Mile – 1 mile – 3:45 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #3 – Sunny Ridge / #8 – Pattern Recognition / #1 – Mendelssohn

#3 Sunny Ridge is a son of Holy Bull for the Jason Servis barn. Irad Ortiz has the call and they team up to win 34%. He exits the G2 Kelso going a mile and should enjoy the distance where he is 5 for 5 ITM. Manny Franco to Ortiz, and a solid stalker in the field. I’m looking for a big effort getting the job done around the far turn. #8 Pattern Recognition comes in off a win in the G2 Kelso and should be a major pace player for the Chad Brown barn. He is 2 for 2 at Aqueduct and looks for three in a row. I think Jose Ortiz will send and he’s one of the best speed riders in the nation. #1 Mendelssohn is a son of Scat Daddy for Aidan O’Brien with Ryan Moore in the saddle. He’ll show good speed, and Moore is always dangerous anytime he takes a mount. He’s cutting back from a mile and a quarter and may improve at the shorter distance.

He turns back in distance from 1 1/8 and looks like a perfect stalker waiting to pounce. #4 March to the Arch ships in from Belmont for the Mark Casse barn. This son of Arch ran a solid 4th in the G2 Hill Prince last out and appears ready to roll. He cuts back in distance and should come rolling late in the lane. #1 Reride is a son of Candy Ride for the Asmussen barn. He is making his third off the layoff today and should be a major pace player. Florent Geroux in the irons and was a beaten favorite last out at Keeneland. Race #6 – The Atlantic Beach – 6f on the turf – 2:47 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #7 – Absentee / #4 – Gins and Tins / #3 – Wallace

#7 Absentee is a son of Fed Biz for trainer Alan Goldberg. Irad Ortiz in the irons and his dam Truant has 5 starters, 4 wins, and 2 turf winners to her credit. He cuts back in distance and should come calling late in the lane under the strong hand of Ortiz. #4 Gins and Tins is a son of Scat Daddy for trainer Wesely Ward.  John Velasquez in the saddle and his dam High Walden has 7 winners, 5 winners, and 5 turf winners with her progeny. He’s been away from the races since Saratoga and working a regular clip over the Keeneland strip. Ward takes off the blinkers and wins 24% with this equipment change. #3 Wallace is a son of Run Away and Hide for trainer Kelsey Danner. He drops in class from the G1 Summer at Woodbine and should flash early speed. He can be a player if left alone on the front end.

Race #8 – The Artie Schiller – 1 mile on the turf – 3:47 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #1 – Qurbaan / #9 – Projected / #6 – Bricks and Mortar

#1 Qurbaan comes to post for Kiaran McLaughlin. Luis Saez in the irons and at the time of this entry was seeking his 2,000th career win. He ran a solid 3rd at Keeneland in the G1 Shadwell Mile facing Next Shares who ran last weekend in the Breeders’ Cup. Since shipping in from France and getting Lasix he has the look of a dangerous runner. #9 Projected is a son of Showcasing for the Chad Brown barn. Irad Ortiz in the saddle, and ships in from Laurel off a G2 event as a beaten favorite. The drop in class should help greatly and Ortiz loves to finish strong down the lane. He faced Qurbaan and looks to square the record today. #6 Bricks and Mortar comes in for the Chad Brown barn off a one year layoff. Brown wins 29% with well rested runners and this son of Giant’s Causeway was facing graded company before his layoff. He is bred to relish the greensward and may win first off the bench at a square price.
