#7 Go Google Yourself comes to post for Paul McGee and B.J. Hernandez in the irons. She is 2nd off the layoff and the filly loves the course going 5 for 7 ITM. That was a solid prep winning the Groupie Doll at Ellis and Hernandez is no stranger to the CD winner’s circle. Look for a solid stalking trip. #3 Mylady Curlin is a daughter of Curlin for trainer Brad Cox and Shaun Bridgmohan. 3rd off the layoff looking for her 6th straight win. The Cox barn wins 30% off a last race win and sports a nice morning workout. She’ll be on the hook or just off the leader. #2 Moonlit Garden is a daughter of Malibu Moon for Brad Cox and Florent Geroux. 3rd off the layoff where Cox wins 27% and was a beaten chalk in the Groupie Doll. Flo will have her in a good spot and hit the accelerator around the far turn.

BetPTC.com Selections / #6 – Morning Gold / #3- Portrait / #1 – Shadilee

#6 Morning Gold is a daughter of Morning Line for Kenny McPeek and Jose Ortiz. She gets first Lasix and moves from the turf to the dirt. Look for Ortiz to come out swinging as he wins 19% with his early style runners. McPeek wins 19% with first time Lasix. Add them up and you may have a good plan for heading to the windows. #3 Portrait comes to post for Brad Cox and Shaun Bridgmohan. She had a commanding win at EP last out after coming off the turf prior. She has the look of a dangerous stalker moving up the ladder. Cox wins 28% of the time off a maiden win. #1 Shadilee goes postward for Mike Maker and Julien Leparoux. Impressive maiden victory at the Spa and was claimed for $75,000 for the Maker barn. Race  #10 – The G-3 Iroquois – 1 1/16 – 5:26 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #6 – Flute Maker / #4 – Rowdy Yates / #2 – Letmeno

#6 Flute Maker is a son of Sky Mesa for Ken McPeek and Jose Ortiz. Ultra impressive closing win at Saratoga and looks to kick it up a notch moving up the ladder. If his last race is any indication he’ll fit in nicely with the field. #4 Rowdy Yates comes in for Steve Asmussen and Tyler Baze. A speedster who won the Ellis Juvenile and comes back to CD where he broke his maiden and 2nd in the Bashford Manor. Catch him if you want to beat him. #2 Letmeno comes from the Ian Wilkes barn with Calvin Borel in the irons. He’s a closer who got shuffled back a bit trying to catch Rowdy Yates last out. He has some nice works at CD and Borel knows his way to the winner’s circle for big races.

She owns some strong works at Palm Meadows and will come firing fresh for a solid barn. #1 Bellavais is a daughter of Tapit for trainer Todd Pletcher. Javier Castellano has the call and is making her second start off the layoff. She should be forwardly placed and benefit from Castellano in the driver’s seat. #3 Bombshell is a daughter of Bellamy Road. She is looking for her third straight and been off for 50 days. Arnaud Delacour is the conditioner and Luis Saez has the call winning 21% at the meet.

Florent Geroux in the saddle and has two solid works to signal readiness.

#2 – Imprimus ships in from Pimlico and is a perfect 4/4 with wins. He’s moving up in class and Joel Rosario is the pilot. He gets an added furlong to run and today will be the acid test to see what his future holds. His last win in the Turf Sprint at Pimlico showed signs of ready to move to the next level.

#10 Telekinesis ships in from Keeneland going 2nd time off the layoff. He won the Woodbine Plate Trial under Patrick Husbands for Mark Casse. This son of Ghostzapper appeared to relish the surface and should jump right out and dictate the pace today. Catch him if you can.

CASH IS KING X HANDICAPPING TOURNAMENT – BIG, NEW CHANGES

BetPTC.com Horses to Watch – 4/11/17

This far down the road I was hoping for a little clearer picture. There are worse things I suppose, but for a horse player the muddied waters of the Derby picture can start you guessing. I was thinking why not try and use this to my advantage ? I need to dig in deeper and find a runner or two that tossed in a clunker. Or, how about a win by the unlikely runner who ran his best to date ? All good examples of finding hidden value. I’m going back over race replays and start the process of finding a fat priced runner who can light up the tote board. With 25 days and 9 hours at the time of this entry there is plenty of time to start building your blockbuster ticket. – In the meantime there is a little window to nail down some winners who may have had a compromised trip or an excuse last out. Either way, value is on the horizon and all you have to do is keep your eyes peeled. – Best of luck from your friends at BetPTC.com !

Keeneland

4/7/17

Race #4 – #1 – Roustabout – 1 1/16

Miguel Mena in the saddle for Al Stall. The Fair Grounds shipper is a son of Harlan’s Holiday and was in pretty tight at the 1/4 pole. Once Mena broke free he was beaten by a dirty nose right at the wire. If he comes back this meet go to the windows with both hands !

Aqueduct

4/8/17

Race #9 – #2 Tommy Macho – 7f – G-1 Carter Stakes

Luis Saez had the call for Todd Pletcher. Trapped on the rail down the lane making his first start in 56 days. Saez tipped off the rail for clear sailing and tried to split runners in the final 1/8th. Green Gratto and Unified slammed the door shut and he didn’t make the gap. An inquiry didn’t help his case, but we saw there was some promise. I think we’ll see big things from this son of Macho Uno this year.

Keeneland

4/9/17

Race #2 – #6 – Our Girl Abby – 4 1/2f

Jose Ortiz in the saddle for Mike Maker. Two-year-old daughter of Majestic Warrior had been training over the poly at Turfway Park. Her dam My Paige’s Jewel is 1/1 with her poly runners. She saved ground and commenced a bid earning the show spot. Look for her right back at the boutique meeting.

Race #7 – #5 – Plueven – 1 1/16 on the turf

Corey Lanerie in the driver’s seat for Phillip Sims. This son of Turtle Bowl was on the class drop and making his bid for the first time in four months. He made a strong move but came up a little leg weary down the lane. They’ll probably target Churchill Downs as he loves the Louisville sod.

Santa Anita

4/9/17

Race #2 – #3- Papaslilprincess – 1 1/16

Bryan Pena had the call and was fresh off the claim for trainer Steve Knapp. She is 6/14 ITM at SA, and was squeezed back at the break costing precious ground.

Race #4 – #5 – Tiz Jolie – 7f on the main

Tyler Baze in the irons fresh off the claim and blinkers off for this run. This son of Tiz Wonderful was making a 2nd start off a one month break and and hopped at the start costing the runner some needed ground. Better things are coming his way next time to the races.

Race #6 – #8 – Rocketann – 5 1/2f

Santiago Gonzalez in the saddle making her second start of the year. She usually dukes it out with Cal-bred stakes runners and the welcome drop to maiden special weight looked good. She was forced three wide on the final turn and may have added to the ground she covered. Maybe a better trip is just what the doctor ordered and we’ll have a runner who can make amends for her last race.
