BetPTC.com Selections / #7 – Maximum Security / #5 – Mucho Gusto /#1  King for a Day

#7 Maximum Security hails from the Jason Servis barn who is winning at 29% at the meet. Luis Saez in the saddle and after the Derby DQ he had a nice prep in the Pegasus over the track and should be knocking heads on the lead. Look for a big effort today. #5 Mucho Gusto son of Mucho Macho Man for Bob Baffert who has won eight runnings of this race. He is 3rd off the layoff and 7 for 7 ITM lifetime. There is plenty of speed and Joe Talamo should be able to lay just off the main speed waiting to push the button. #1 King for a Day comes from the Todd Pletcher barn with John Velasquez in the irons. This son of Uncle Mo is making a 3rd off move and the barn scores at a 22% clip. The rail has been winning at a 24% clip and owns a sharp work coming into the race.

He’ll be closer to the pace today and give them plenty of trouble down the lane. #2 Core Beliefs hails from the Peter Eurton barn with Flavien Prat in the saddle. Blinkers on and has been off for 54 days. He’s a nice stalker who is dropping down a notch in from the G1 Gold Cup and cuts back to a kinder distance. #4 Draft Pick comes from the Peter Eurton barn with this son of Candy Ride. Martin Garcia in the irons and makes his 2nd start of the year. His work tabs look like he’s gearing up for a top effort.

#3 Mucho Unusual is a daughter of Mucho Macho Man for Tim Yakteen. Joel Rosario in the saddle making a 2nd off the layoff move where the barn wins 14%. This California bred should relish all of the speed to set up a good stalking trip. The faster they go the better she’ll like it. #5 Apache Princess comes in for Keith Desormeaux with brother Kent Desormeaux in the saddle. They’ve been off two months shipping in from Golden Gate. Kent D rolled off three straight going 6 1/2f on the weeds and they usually take to the mile distance with gusto. Look for her late in the game. #8 Stillwater Cove rolls in from the Wesley Ward barn with a daughter of Quality Road. Victor Espinoza in the irons and he wins 24% on the turf. The barn has been winning 26% for the year.

#7 Hot Springs is a son of Uncle Mo for trainer Steve Asmussen with Ricardo Santana in the saddle. They are winning 21% as a team and make a 3rd off the layoff move. He exits a win in the Jefferson Cup bringing him to a perfect 3 for 3 under the Twin Spires. He turns back in distance from 1 1/8 and looks like a perfect stalker waiting to pounce. #4 March to the Arch ships in from Belmont for the Mark Casse barn. This son of Arch ran a solid 4th in the G2 Hill Prince last out and appears ready to roll. He cuts back in distance and should come rolling late in the lane. #1 Reride is a son of Candy Ride for the Asmussen barn. He is making his third off the layoff today and should be a major pace player. Florent Geroux in the irons and was a beaten favorite last out at Keeneland. Race #6 – The Atlantic Beach – 6f on the turf – 2:47 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #7 – Absentee / #4 – Gins and Tins / #3 – Wallace

#7 Absentee is a son of Fed Biz for trainer Alan Goldberg. Irad Ortiz in the irons and his dam Truant has 5 starters, 4 wins, and 2 turf winners to her credit. He cuts back in distance and should come calling late in the lane under the strong hand of Ortiz. #4 Gins and Tins is a son of Scat Daddy for trainer Wesely Ward.  John Velasquez in the saddle and his dam High Walden has 7 winners, 5 winners, and 5 turf winners with her progeny. He’s been away from the races since Saratoga and working a regular clip over the Keeneland strip. Ward takes off the blinkers and wins 24% with this equipment change. #3 Wallace is a son of Run Away and Hide for trainer Kelsey Danner. He drops in class from the G1 Summer at Woodbine and should flash early speed. He can be a player if left alone on the front end.

Race #8 – The Artie Schiller – 1 mile on the turf – 3:47 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #1 – Qurbaan / #9 – Projected / #6 – Bricks and Mortar

#1 Qurbaan comes to post for Kiaran McLaughlin. Luis Saez in the irons and at the time of this entry was seeking his 2,000th career win. He ran a solid 3rd at Keeneland in the G1 Shadwell Mile facing Next Shares who ran last weekend in the Breeders’ Cup. Since shipping in from France and getting Lasix he has the look of a dangerous runner. #9 Projected is a son of Showcasing for the Chad Brown barn. Irad Ortiz in the saddle, and ships in from Laurel off a G2 event as a beaten favorite. The drop in class should help greatly and Ortiz loves to finish strong down the lane. He faced Qurbaan and looks to square the record today. #6 Bricks and Mortar comes in for the Chad Brown barn off a one year layoff. Brown wins 29% with well rested runners and this son of Giant’s Causeway was facing graded company before his layoff. He is bred to relish the greensward and may win first off the bench at a square price.

Keeneland

Race #8 – The G1 First Lady – 1 mile on the turf – 4:40 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #2 – A Raving Beauty / #4 – Crown Walk / #10 – Off Limits

#2 A Raving Beauty is a daughter of Mastercraftsman for trainer Chad Brown. Brown has three entered and his eyes are set on the prize. She was a beaten favorite in the G2 Ballston Spa and has a solid closing kick. I’m dismissing her last effort as a bad day at the office and look forward to the cutback in distance where she is four for seven ITM. Brown wins 26% with turf runners and John Velasquez knows his way to the winner’s circle. #4 Crown Walk is a daughter of Dubawi for trainer Henri-Alex Pantall. She is 6 for 7 ITM on the turf and gets Lasix today. She exits the Gr1 Prix Rothschild and has the services of Mike Smith. She ships in from Deauville and is a solid filly looking to test the waters. #10 Off Limits comes to post for trainer Chad Brown with Julien Leparoux in the irons. She’s a half sister to A Raving Beauty and is an out of the clouds closing sort. She’ll need a quick pace to come calling late in the lane.

Race #9 – The G1 Breeders’ Futurity – 1 1/16 – 5:14 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #8 – Tobacco Road / #5 – Dream Maker / #13 – Mind Control

#8 Tobacco Road has Corey Lanerie in the saddle for Steve Asmussen. Last out in the G3 Iroquois they were bumped around and forced wide. I like the distance progression and 8.5f should be no problem. His dam has 8 starters, 6 winners, 3 stakes winners, and is 75% with two year olds. He’s a closer and should relish the added ground and cleaner trip. #5 Dream Maker is a son of Tapit for trainer Mark Casse with Julien Leparoux in the driver’s seat. He owns a bullet work over the Keeneland oval in preparation. Leparoux knows the oval and Casse has always done well in Kentucky. The final work was the best of 113 runners and that is pretty impressive. I like his chances and the 2nd off the layoff move is a plus. #13 Mind Control is a son of Stay Thirsty with John Velasquez in the saddle. He exits off a win in the G1 Hopeful looking to make it three straight. He sports versatile speed and owns a bullet work at Monmouth coming into the race.

Only 4 Weeks Remain

Race #10 – The G1 Shadwell Turf Mile – 1 mile on the turf – 5:49 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #9 – Analyze It / #11 – Almanaar / #14 – Bound for Nowhere

#9 Analyze It is a son of Point of Entry for trainer Chad Brown. This three year old colt takes on older for the first time and has a solid resume. He is two for two going a mile and cuts back in distance from 9f. He is 1 for 1 at Keeneland and looks to get a perfect stalking trip. Beaten favorite last time out and been off for 56 days. Johnny V should have him in a good spot turning for home. #11 Almanaar is a son of Dubawi for Chad Brown and Javier Castellano. He’s a strong late closer who has been on the shelf for 56 days since running a 2nd place effort in the Arlington Million. Javier Castellano will push the button just at the right time and he’ll come running down the lane. Lightly raced, and his dam Baqah has 3 starters, 3 winners, 1 stakes winner, and 3 turf winners. #14 Bound for Nowhere comes in for trainer Wesley Ward with Julio Garcia aboard. They won the $750,000 Tourist Mile at Kentucky Downs, and those runners have done very well over the lush Keeneland turf. Look for a strong effort.

#11 Mae Never No is trained by Wesley Ward and making her 2nd start off the layoff. She is 2 for 2 facing the gals and ran a game 3rd in the Tremont as a beaten favorite. Ward wins 21% with his first time grass runners and been working around the dogs at Keeneland. Albin Jimenez in the saddle looking for a perfect stalking trip to make a run in the long home stretch. #10 Moonlight Romance comes from the barn of Wesley Ward and has Jose Ortiz in the irons. She comes back from Royal Ascot and a daughter of Liaison for Ken & Sarah Ramsey. Blinkers off today and she broke her maiden at Belmont last out on the turf. #2 Chattel has Kendrick Carmouche in the driver’s seat for this son of Giant Oak. He was impressive in the Skidmore Stakes at Saratoga and makes the trip to Kentucky to try the undulating course.

Race #7 – Ladies Turf – 1 mile on the turf – 5:26 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #7 Hallie Belle / #8 In the Lee / #10 Dubara

#7 Hallie Belle is a daughter of Medaglia d’ Oro for the Michael Stidham barn. This is her 3rd off the layoff and “Jersey” Joe Bravo comes down for the mount. She’s dropping down a notch from the G2 Yellow Ribbon Stakes and her dam Charity Belle has 4 starters / 2 winners / 1  stakes winner / 2 turf winners to her credit. #8 In the Lee comes from the stable of Shug McGaughey with Jose Ortiz in the saddle. She is 6 for 7 ITM on grass and been off for two months since Belmont. Shug wins 21% with layoff runners and Ortiz is 49% ITM on the sod. #10 Dubara has the services of Adam Beschizza for this daughter of Dubawi. Her dam Kibara has 6 starters / 6 winners / 6 turf winners to her credit. Since coming across the pond she seems to be enjoying Lasix and the grass racing. This course may be to her liking.

Race #8 – G3 Ladies Sprint – 6 1/2f on the turf – 5:57 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #6 Lull / #7 Originator / #1 Brielle’s Belle

#6 Lull is a daughter of War Front and 2 for 2 with wins over the KyD course. Christophe Clement is the conditioner and has B.J. Hernadez in the saddle. Runners that like the track usually come back and show a good effort. She comes in off a solid effort in the G2 Royal North at Woodbine. She’s in perfect shape heading back to Kentucky and was sprinting 6f last out and gets added distance this day. #7 Originator hails from the Ian Wilkes barn with Jose Ortiz in the driver’s seat. She is a daughter of Artie Schiller and is 5 for 6 ITM on the greensward. She’s a closer and Ortiz is an excellent judge of pace. I really like her chances today. #1 Brielle’s Appeal is a speedy filly by English Channel who’s going to grab the lead for trainer Al Stall. She has been away for 47 days at Saratoga and could be a handful if turned loose from the gate break.

Saratoga Race #10 – The G1 Spinaway – 7f – 6:13 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #5 Nonna Madeline / #3 Virginia Eloise / #7 Chasing Yesterday

#5 Nonna Madeline is making her 3rd start for trainer Todd Pletcher with John Velasquez in the irons. Last time she was off a bit slow and still managed to finish a solid 2nd as the beaten favorite. She has four solid works under her belt and Pletcher scores 25% coming back off a beaten favorite angle. She gets added distance and this race should fit her nicely. #3 Virginia Eloise is a daughter of Curlin for the Pletcher barn. She broke her maiden at first asking and raced a little green last out while putting together a big run down the lane. Javier Castellano in the saddle and she’ll track the pace looming a major danger. #7 Chasing Yesterday is a daughter of Tapit for the Bob Baffert barn. “Money Man” Mike Smith in the saddle as she was an impressive maiden winner on July, 28th. Her works have been solid and her dam Littleprincessemma has 5 starters with 5 winners from her babies.

Saratoga Race #11 – The G1 Woodward – 1 1/8 – 6:47 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #9 Gunnevera / #1 Yoshida / #10 Seeking the Soul

#9 Gunnevera comes to post for trainer Antonio Sano with Edgard Zayas in the saddle. This son of Dialed In ran into a wall in the Dubai World Cup two races back and came in off a 5 month layoff to score easily in the perfect prep. He’s had some problems in the past but looks healthy and ready for a big coming out party. He’s 2 for 2 ITM at Saratoga and makes the 2nd off the layoff move. I’m looking for a mature and ready runner to strut his stuff. #1 Yoshida is a Japanese bred runner for trainer Bill Mott. Joel Rosario in the irons and comes off a good effort at Ascot two back in the Gr1 Queen Anne. One thing for sure. Mott would not have him entered if he had any doubts about his ability. Bill Mott is 40% making the turf to dirt switch and it would be best not to count him out just yet. #10 Seeking the Soul is a son of Perfect Soul for talented trainer Dallas Stewart. He was a beaten favorite at Indiana last out and that was his last start since the Pegasus Cup in January. He’s 2 for 2 ITM at Saratoga and owns some very nice works to show readiness.

Kentucky Downs Race #8 – The $750,000 Tourist Mile – 1 mile on the turf – 6:26 pm EDT

BetPTC.com Selections / #8 Bound for Nowhere / #1 Mr. Misunderstood / #3 Camelot Kitten

#8 Bound for Nowhere comes to post for trainer Wesley Ward with Julio Garcia in the saddle. This son of The Factor has good speed and can throttle it back when needed. His last effort at Royal Ascot was promising and should be on the lead when they make the run into the undulating turn. #1 Mr. Misunderstood is a son of Archarcharch for the Brad Cox barn. Florent Geroux aboard and these guys win at a 33% clip as a team. He’s looking to make it three straight and owns some sharp works in the morning. The rider scores 14% on the turf and Brad Cox wins 30% on the sod. #3 Camelot Kitten hails from the Mike Maker barn for Ken and Sarah Ramsey. This son of Kitten’s Joy is a closer and may relish the drop from graded company. Tyler Gafflione in town and he scores at a 19% clip on the turf.

Saratoga

Race #8 – G2 Lake Placid – 1 1/8 on the turf – 4:49 pm ET

BetPTC.com Selections – #6 – Uni / #3 – La Coronel / #4 – Proctor’s Ledge

#6 – Uni = Irad Ortiz aboard for Chad Brown winning (31%) the past few months. They bring a talented gal who shipped over from France in May. – Uni got Lasix for her first trip in the states, and the barn wins (18%) with medication. Her first time out had her closing stoutly against New Money Honey. She gets her 2nd trip to the races and cuts back in distance from 1 1/4 – 1 1/8. Her two morning works are sharp and signal readiness to perform. #3 – La Coronel = Florent Geroux in the irons for Mark Casse. This daughter of Colonel John ships back from Royal Ascot off a 5th place finish in the Gr.1 Coronation Stakes. She’s been on the shelf for 57 days and is 1/1 at the Spa. Her work on 8/11 shows she is ready for a prime effort. #4 – Proctor’s Ledge = Javier Castellano in the saddle exiting a G3 Lake George win. This daughter of Ghostzapper is moving up the class ladder and has plenty of solid races to build upon. This is her 2nd time with Lasix and trainer Brendan Walsh wins (23%) with this addition.

 Race #9 – G1 Alabama – 1 1/4 – 5:22 pm ET

BetPTC.com Selections – #7 – Elate / #1 -New Money Honey / #6 – Salty

#7 – Elate = Jose Ortiz aboard for Bill Mott and was closing with a strong late kick in the G1 Coaching Club Oaks last out.She was kept in tight down the lane and denied any clear sailing to get rolling. Ortiz is winning (20%) at the meet and (21%) with the Mott barn. She’s been training well and looks to be ready for a top-notch effort. #1 – New Money Honey = Javier Castellano in the irons for Chad Brown and they get their picture taken (26%) as a team the past few months. She’s been a tuff turf runner and the barn makes the turf – dirt switch where they score (30%) on the move. You have to respect Brown’s choice, and if she takes to the main track it could be a long day for the other ladies. #6 – Salty = Tyler Gafflione for Mark Casse and they exit the G1 Coaching Club Oaks. She was heavily bet and leapt into the air prior to the start. The bullet work and a clean trip could have her right in the mix at the top of the lane.

Del Mar

Race #8 – G1 Pacific Classic – 1 1/4 – 8:30 pm ET

BetPTC.com Selections – #8 – Arrogate / #2 – Collected / #4 – Sorry Erik

#8 – Arrogate = Mike “Money Man” Smith in the saddle for Bob Baffert winning (42%) the past 60 days. His last effort has the racing world scratching their head after the G2 San Diego Handicap. I’m tossing out the race as a clunker or a delayed Dubai World Cup victory jinx after winning the race at Meydan. His record is 8/9 ITM and even the great ones strike out. Baffert kept her close in California and he’s been training lights out. I’m looking for a big effort that will have us talking about events in the next few months.  #2 – Collected = Martin Garcia for Bob Baffert. He could be an insurance “rabbit” to keep the pace honest to set up Arrogate. This son of City Zip is a tough customer looking for his 4th victory in a row. #4 – Sorry Erik = Kent Desormeaux for his brother Keith. They enter off a win in an O.C. $75k on the turf and I’m going back two races where he faced Irap and Girvin. This has been a key move as runners who locked horns with them have come back to run very well.

Race #10 – G1 Del Mar Oaks – 1 1/8 on the turf – 9:30 pm ET

BetPTC.com Selections – #12- Beau Recall / #10- Dream Dancing / #5 – Con Te Partino

#12 – Beau Recall = Joe Talamo in the saddle for Simon Callaghan. Ships back from Belmont in the G1 Belmont Oaks where she finished 6th. She is 5/7 ITM on the turf and has been training lights out. Cuts back from 1 1/4 – 1 1/8 and will come calling late in the lane under the strong urging of Talamo. #10 – Dream Dancing = Julien Leparoux in the driver’s seat for Mark Casse. Daughter of Tapit is 6/8 ITM on the turf and was caught wide last out in the G3 Lake George. Leparoux fits her well and he’ll be moving late in the lane off two blistering works over the Saratoga turf. #5 – Con Te Partino = Flavien Prat for trainer Wesley Ward. She ships back from Royal Ascot off a win in the Sandringham Hcp and looks to continue with her 3rd start of the 2017 season. Ward would not be sending if he didn’t feel she’s ready and I’m looking for a solid effort in hopes of a Breeders’ Cup plan in her future.

BetPTC cash is king

Returns this Saturday!

BetPTC.com Horses to Watch – 7/1/17

Horses to Watch – Ed Meyer

Summer racing has just broke from the starting gate, and it won’t be long until your favorite ovals are in full swing. As the summer sun beats down we’ll be watching and wagering on one-of-a-kind racing. There was always something special about racing during this time. Maybe it was being off school spending time with my dad, or it could’ve been the plethora of turf racing all around the nation. Either way, the season is upon. So grab a cool drink anywhere shade can be found. It won’t last forever, and we better enjoy while the sun stills shines. – Here are some runners that should appear on your wagering radar screens next out. They have a good excuse or didn’t have their best day. If you follow them back next time out, you may be rewarded for keeping your eyes peeled. – Best of luck from your friends at BetPTC.com !

Indiana Grand

6/21/17

Race #6 -#4 – Midnight Blvd – Hoosier Breeder Sophmores – 1 1/16

This daughter of Bellamy Road was making her second start of the year. She was 4/4 ITM and all of her races came at Indiana Grand. – She had a perfect stalking trip and was forced to check off heels at the top of the lane. This was just enough to take away her momentum and she still managed to mount a strong bid for 2nd money.

Race #8 – #6 -Gostisbehere – Mdn Sp Wt – 1 1/16 on the turf

Declan Cannon in the saddle for Charles Lopresti. This daughter of Gio Ponti is bred to love the turf and looked good coming on the track. He looked patient along the rail and was bottled up heading for home. He tried to wait and was blocked multiple times down the stretch getting beat for the whole thing.

Check out BetPTC.mobi

Belmont

6/23/17

Race #8 – #5 – Runaway Posse – Alw $77,000 – 6f on the turf

This was his second start off a three month layoff shipping in from Fair Grounds. He was 6/10 ITM over the Belmont oval. Dylan Davis was cut off sharply at the 1/16th pole by #9 /Lord of Love. – He tried to get back in action but lost all momentum in the traffic.

Belterra Park

6/25/17

Race #1 – #2 – Golden Justice – Allowance – 6f

Cheyanna Patrick in the saddle for Gary Patrick. She is 5/6 ITM at Belterra and the odds-on favorite this race. She was off slow and made a steady advance. Once clear she tipped off and made a strong late rally to be third this day. A little better start has her heading to the winner’s circle.

Race  #3 – #4 – Pray for Kitten – Mdn Claiming – 1 mile on the turf

Katie Clawson in the saddle for Wesley Ward. – Ward had great success at Royal Ascot during the week, and now he brought a first time starter to a maiden claiming race at Belterra. He came onto the track as the odds-on choice and was green at every turn. He almost unseated the rider coming onto the track, took off from the pony, and was overall anxious.  During the race he was darting in and out and finally grabbed the lead. Down the lane he started drifting and weaving and faded a bit in the stretch. I think they’ll have the bugs workled out for next race and this colt will make a good showing.

BetPTC.com Horses to Watch – 4/1/17

Horses to Watch – Ed Meyer

The Derby trail was in the spirit of “March Madness” serving up some red-hot upsets. Racing was even a few lengths ahead of college hoops, as the Spiral and the Sunland Derby went official with double digit payouts. The road to Louisville is still murky and next week the Florida Derby and the Louisiana Derby look to give us a more definitive picture. – As we’re going to need plenty of ammo to watch and wager on the preps ahead, here are some horses you’ll want to follow right back to the windows as they offer an excuse or a bad trip. Best of luck from your friends at BetPTC.com !

Turfway Park

3/25/17

Race #6 – #7 – Classic Salsa – 6 1/2f on the all weather

Jack Gilligan in the irons and heavily backed at the windows. He was forced in tight and got knocked around at the half way point taking away some needed energy. The rider gave a good account by getting him back in the action finishing up with a solid show effort. – A cleaner trip may have the Jeremiah O’Dwyer trainee right on the money next up.

Race #7 – #4 – Professor Snape – 6f on the all weather

Luis Saez in town for Wesley Ward for this mount on Spiral Day. First time starter sent off the odds-on chalk and made a game effort running second this day. Ward does magic with his second time starters back to the races, and the namesake of the Harry Potter series may have some added magic to offer next time he loads in the starting gate.

Race #10 – The G-3 Spiral Stakes- #8 Kitten’s Cat – 1 1/8 on the all weather

Luis Saez in the saddle for trainer Joe Sharp who was sent off the luke-warm favorite for the marquee race of the meet. He was in tight and knocked around quite a bit and forced to check. According to the Daily Racing Form, he bled and is being treated in Lexington, Kentucky. This may scrap plans to take him to Royal Ascot for owner Ken Ramsey, but I’m sure we’ll see good things to come when he returns to the races.

Race #12 – #5 – Curlin’s Lass – 6f on the all weather

Abel Lezcano was in the driver’s seat and started uncorking a rally. This daughter of Curlin was in full-stride six wide closing with a rush. This was her second start lifetime and she showed good promise this day for the Mark Thomas barn.

Sunland Park

3/26/17

Race #9 – The G-3 Sunland Derby – #2 – Hedge Fund –  1 1/8 on the main

Jose Ortiz had the call for Todd Pletcher as they shipped in from Gulfstream Park. Ortiz is known for being a solid gate rider and jumped to a quick lead and showed the way until the top of the stretch where he got a little leg weary and finished a game third. The pace may have been a little easier as the odds-on favorite Bronze Age from the Bob Baffert barn stumbled at the start and eased. – I think we’ll see maturing three-year-old who can show the way right to the winner’s circle.

BetPTC.com Horses to Watch – 2/20/17

Horses to Watch – Ed Meyer

The nation had warm weather where it’s cold, tremendous rain where there’s little precipitation, and we’re creeping closer to the first Saturday in May. – President’s Day was a superb day of wagering, and for horse players there’s nothing like a three day weekend of red-hot racing action. With that in mind, here’s some solid runners who deserve a good bet next out. – Best of luck from your friends at BetPTC.com.

Gulfstream Park

2/18/17

Race #2 – #7 – Gran the Man – 5f. on the turf

Luis Saez in the saddle for Jason Servis (29%). This son of Grand Slam was making his 2nd effort off a two month layoff, and loves the turf going 4/4 ITM on the sod. He was forced to steady early after the break and this seem to stop his motion. He’ll rebound nicely with a better start and be a major player sprinting on the turf.

Race #6 -#4 – Sprindetti – 6f. on the main

Solid filly looking to make it two-in-a-row lifetime and exited an impressive win in her maiden break at boxcar odds. She stumbled badly leaving the gate and was sandwiched by her foes. Let’s toss this race and look forward to her next out.

Race #9 – #5 – Take Your Guns – 1 mile on the main

1st time starter by Blame for the Chad Brown barn. He had his go-to rider Javier Castellano in the irons for his first start at the races. He put in a slight bid showing interest but didn’t get his diploma this day. The Chad Brown barn does very well with 2nd time runners and you can bet dollars to donuts he’ll have him ready to roll next up.

Race #12- #9 – Tricked Up – 1 mile on the turf

Joel Rosario for Chad Brown and they have been winning (38%) as a team the last few months. The son of Distorted Humor made his first start in 50 days, and was caught up in traffic for most of the race and tipped out three wide making a mild bid. He finished 6th and should give a much better effort next out.

Turfway Park

2/18/17

Race #3 – #4 – Forest Warrior – 5f  on the AW

Gabriel Lagunes aboard this son of Ready’s Image and came in 3rd off the shelf. He was a beaten favorite last out and broke slow on this day. He made a strong rally and went six wide getting second money for this effort.

Race #5 – #4 – Porter Street – 1 mile on the AW

Alonso Quinonez in the saddle for Wesley Ward. Son of Giant’s Causeway took the lead at the 1/4 pole and was bested down the lane after a furious drive. He’ll get his diploma very soon.

Race #2 – #6 – Powerful Instinct – 1 1/8 on the turf

Luis Saez rode a perfect race and did everything but win. At the 1/4 pole Saez tipped off the rail and went six wide. He finished with a flourish weaving through the field getting the second prize this day.

Race #3 – #6 – Run and Go – 6f

First timer from the Pletcher barn and Javier Castellano did a masterful job guiding this daughter of Union Rags. She drew off to an easy 4 length victory with the greatest of ease and she’ll only get better off this effort. She deserves a play back off this impressive win.

Race #6 – #8 – Dickinson – 1 1/16 on the turf

Shipped in from Belmont Park after a two month break. Daughter of Medaglia d’ Oro who is 2/2 over the sod. Moved up in company this day to the (G-3) Marshua’s River, and John Velasquez had her in perfect position. She was forced to steady at the top of the lane, and gathered her composure to finish a strong 4th place effort for McLaughlin barn.

Race #1 – #3 – Stormy Mission – 6f on the AW

Stumbled badly at the break and rushed up and grabbed the lead to show the way by two lengths. John McKee tried to settle his mount but came up a little short down the lane.

Race #2 – #6 – Devil Alert – 6f on the AW

John McKee in the saddle for Dan O’Hallaron barn. She was sent off the odds-on favorite and didn’t give a strong performance as a closer picking up the pace. She managed a fourth place effort, and maybe “The Devil” will do better going 6 1/2f or getting a red-hot pace to close into.

Race #7 – #3 – Porter Street -1 mile on the AW

First time starter from the Wesley Ward barn. Alonso Quinonez was off a beat slow and clung to the rail saving ground. At the 1/4 pole he was forced to tap on the breaks stopping his momentum and still managed to finish with a very string effort to get bested at the wire.
