The Time Is Now…

Finally Australians can celebrate the depth in their ranks as imported horses raise the bar
ALL this “PR talk” over recent springs, the talking up of weak crops as bumper editions, plain Caulfield Cups and Cox Plates as something they’re not, has been put in clear perspective at Flemington tomorrow.
As it was at Caulfield last Saturday, and at Randwick tomorrow too.
The depth in the ranks, particularly the three-year-olds, the Cups and Cox Plate horses, boosted immeasurably by the small army of locally trained internationals, is a once in a 20-year phenomenon.
It’s hard to remember a spring quite like this.
