Race #8 – The G1 First Lady – 1 mile on the turf – 4:44 pm Analysis / #3 – Althiqa / #9 – Blowout / #10 – Princess Grace

#3 Althiqa is a daughter of Dark Angel (IRE) and a string late closer for the Charles Applebee yard. Jamie Spencer makes the trip and she exits two G1 wins in New York. She has been off for two months and 11 for 11 ITM on the turf. Spencer is a world class rider and makes the journey for one of the top outfits in Europe. I’m looking for her to tip off the hedge and come rolling as they make the turn for home. She is 3 for 3 ITM going a mile and should relish the lush turf course at KEE. #9 Blowout is pure speedster with Flavien Prat in the irons for Chad Brown. They win 23% as a team and been off for 56 days. She will dictate the pace and exits the G1 Four Star Dave against the boys. She is 1 for 1 ITM at KEE and Prat is an excellent reinsman who excels on the sod winning 25% with turf runners. Very dangerous if left alone to set an easy pace. #10 Princess Grace hails from the Mike Stidham barn with Kent Desormeaux in the saddle. She is a half length short of being a perfect 7 for 7 and has solid stalking late kick. She is undefeated going a mile and ships in from KyD off a win in the G3 Ladies Turf. Major danger turning for home.

Race#9 – The G1 Breeders’ Futurity – 1 1/16 miles dirt – 5:15 pm Analysis / #5 – Don’t Wait Up / #13 – Classic Causeway / #3 – Stellar tap

#5 Don’t Wait Up was impressive breaking his maiden at Saratoga under John Velasquez, and should play the role of a close running stalker. Johnny V is one of the most patient hands in the reins and wins 19% with his route runners. Riding the short stretch in this race should play into his plans as he excels at making a well timed move. Tony Dutrow may have a very nice runner in his barn, and this son of Upstart may be just getting started for good things to come. #13 Classic Causeway broke his maiden with more in the tank for Brian Lynch and Jose Ortiz at Saratoga. He has the look of a speedy type and should relish the added distance and the short stretch of the distance today. This son of Giant’s Causeway could be trouble if left alone to set average fractions to slow the tempo. #3 Stellar Tap is a speedy son of Tapit for the Steve Asmussen barn and go to rider Ricardo Santana. He was a beaten favorite last out after an eventful trip. Asmussen wins 25% coming back to turn the tables on the competition.

Race #10 – The G1 Keeneland Turf Mile – 1 mile on the turf – 5:46 pm Analysis / #7- Pixelate / #10 – Order of Australia / #6- Ivar

#7 Pixelate is a son of City Zip exiting a win at KyD for Mike Stidham last out. Tyler Gaffalione picks up the call, and is always dangerous when he goes to post. Late runner who is 7 for 7 ITM at the distance and Tyler G can finish up strong when the real running begins. Look for the Godolphin royal blue turning for home at the top of the stretch. #10 Order of Australia hails from the Aiden O’Brien yard with John Velasquez getting the call. This son of Australia (GB) is perfect over the KEE sod and should be near the front flight stalking the pace. Johnny V is a perfect rider for O’Brien and this colt has some breeding to look forward to seeing moving forward. #6 Ivar is a stalker for trainer Paulo Lobo who once saddled the Kentucky Oaks winner Farda Amiga, who also showed promise as a turf runner. Lobo wins 19% for the year and adds back blinkers where he wins 40% on the equipment change.
