Parx Racing

Race#8 – The G3 Greenwood Cup – 1 1/2 – 3:20 pm Analysis / #3 – Moretti / #2 – Math Wizard / #1 – Forewarned

#3 Moretti is an up close speed style runner for Todd Pletcher and Luis Saez. He exits the G1 Sword dancer and makes the turf to dirt switch today. He drops in class and Saez should have him just off the leader’s flank ready to move. Saez wins 28% teaming up with the Todd Squad and the distance should be no problem for this son of Medaglia D’ Oro. #2 Math Wizard hails from the Saffie Joseph barn with Ricardo Santana in for the call. He’s a stone cold closer who is 1 for 1 at Parx. Here has plenty of races facing tougher and should fit better in here today. He had a perfect prep last out making his first start of 2021 and has been off 50 days since. I’m looking at the start of a fall racing campaign. #1 Forewarned goes to post for Uriah St. Lewis, and exits the G1 Jockey Gold Cup where he was over his head. Two races back he made a solid late run in Cleveland and has the services of Alexander Crispin.

Race#9 – The G3 Turf Monster – 5f on the turf – 3:51 pm Analysis / #8 – Caravel / #1 – Beer Can Man / #4 – Carotari

#8 Caravel is a daughter of Mizzen Mast for Graham Motion and faced the boys last time out. She has the services of Jose Ortiz and has tactical speed which should play right into her hand. She is 5 for 5 at the distance and 8 for 8 ITM on the green. Ortiz wins 19% with turf sprinters with early foot and should lay just off the leader poised to pounce. #1 Beer Can Man is a stalker in the hands of Flavien Prat. This is his 2nd start of the year and Prat is winning 25% with his turf mounts. The Mark Glatt runner is 3 for 4 ITM at the distance and ships in from Del Mar where the barn wins 24% shipping into new surroundings. #4 Caratori hails from the Brian Lynch barn with Luis Saez in the irons. A pure speed runner coming off a 50 day rest. Saez wins 21% with early speed on the turf.

Race#10 – The G2 Gallant Bob – 6f – 4:22 pm Analysis / #7 – Jackie’s Warrior / #6 – Beren / #4 Pickin’ Time

#7 Jackie’s Warrior has Joel Rosario in the saddle for Steve Asmussen. They are making a third off the layoff move and can grab the lead or lay just off. Rosario is the regular rider and fits like a glove looking to make it three straight wins. A talented colt who looks ready for a prime effort coming off two bullet works. #6 Beren hails from the Robert Reid barn with Frankie Pennington in the irons. A local runner who can stalk just off the pace. He is 6 for 8 ITM at Parx and his home field advantage can be a plus in these races. #4 Pickin’ Time is closer for the Kelly Breen barn with Luis Saez in the driver’s seat. 3rd effort off the shelf and turns back in distance today. Saez aboard makes him dangerous anywhere he runs. Add in the sharp work under his belt and you have a runner who cannot be tossed out of exotic wagers.

Race#11 – The G1 Cotillion – 1 1/16 – 5:02 pm Analysis / #6 – Clairiere / #5 – Army Wife / #2 – Allworthy

#6 Clairiere looks double tough for trainer Steve Asmussen and his go to rider Ricardo Santana. She exits the G1 Alabam off a stalking trip that day and looks to have the same game plan today with the exception of going to the winner’s circle. Santana back aboard is a good sign, and when he rode this gal last it was 2020 at CD where he looked the perfect fit. #5 Army Wife is the closer type for the Mike Maker barn with Joel Rosario aboard. She always makes a late run and looks to keep knocking heads with some familiar runners in this race. 2nd off the layoff coming in fresh and ready. #2 Allworthy is a stalker from the Saffie Joseph barn with Florent Geroux in the irons. She is 5 for 6 ITM lifetime and always gives a good account of herself. Geroux aboard is a plus as he rises to the occasion in big money races.

Race #12 – The G1 Pennsylvania Derby – 1 1/8 – 5:49 pm Analysis / #7 – Hot Rod Charlie / #8 – Midnight Bourbon / #3 – Speaker’s Corner

#7 Hot Rod Charlie is a son of Oxbow for the Doug O’Neill barn with Flavien Prat in the saddle. Winner of the G1 Haskell and comes in fresh and ready off a two month layoff. Prat will have him stalking just off the pace ready to take command at his asking. #8 Midnight Bourbon is pure speed from the Asmussen barn with Ricardo Santana carrying his Winchell colors. This son of Tiznow just got beat in the shadow of the wire in the G1 Travers and looks ready for a top effort. #3 Speaker’s Corner is a lightly raced late runner from the Bill Mott barn with Jose Ortiz in the saddle. His 2nd start of 2021 looking to get his fall campaign kicked off today. He moves up in class, and Mott only sends them when they are ready for a top effort. The price is enticing in exotic wagers.
