Del Mar

Race#7 – The G2 Del Mar Mile – 1 mile on the turf – 8:00 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #6 – Mo Forza / #2 – Hit the Road Again / #3 – Smooth Like Strait

#6 Mo Forza is a late runner from the Peter Miller barn with Flavien Prat in the saddle. He is coming off a 10 month layoff and is 4 for 5 ITM at DM. This son of Uncle Mo was put on the shelf in good order winning his last two races. Miller wins 18% with long layoffs and Prat is red hot winning 29% for the meet and 28% with late running turf horses. #2 Hit the Road Again hails from the Dan Blacker barn with Florent Geoux in the irons. He is coming off a four month rest after the G1 Makers Mile and is a late runner who does well coming back freshened to the races. Geroux is a money rider and shines on the big days. #3 Smooth Like Strait is a mid pack stalker for Michael Mccarthy and Umberto Ripoli in the driver’s seat. He is 4 for 4 ITM at DM and should be up close on the pace under Ripoli who wins 21% with early runners.

Race#9 – The G1 Del Mar Oaks – 1 1/8 on the turf – 9:00 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #3 – Going Global / #4 – Madone / #7 – Fluffy Socks

#3 Going Global hails from the Phil D’Amato barn with Flavien Prat in the saddle. This is 2nd start off a layoff and comes in as a beaten chalk last out. I think she needed more ground moving from 8f to 9f today. She has a strong late kick and Prat has become one of the best turf riders in the nation. Very dangerous coming off a bullet work. #4 Madone is the horse for the course going 3 for 3 over the DM course. Juan Hernandez has the call for Simon Callaghan who is winning 29% for the meet. A late running filly more suited to the mile, but J.J. Hernandez is winning 20% with late runners and may need the extra ground today. #7 Fluffy Socks hails from the Chad Brown barn with Joel Rosario in the irons. She is taking a step up in class with a late running style. Anytime Chad Brown is in California it deserves a good hard look. She is 1 for 1 at DM and Rosario wins 17% with Team Brown.

Race#10 – The TVG Pacific Classic – 1 1/4 – 9:30 pm

BetPTC.com Analysis / #5 – Express Train / #2 – Tizmagician / #3 – Dr.Post

#5 Express Train is a stalker from the John Sheriffs barn with J.J Hernandez getting the call. 2nd off the layoff and a perfect 4 for 4ITM over the track. He enters with two bullet works and Hernandez wins 23% with stalker type runners. He is 2 for 2 ITM going the distance. #2 Tizmagician 3rd time off the layoff for Dick Mandella with Flavien Prat. Solid works and appears to love the distance going long. Prat wins 27% with route running closers. #3 Dr. Post ships in from Monmouth park for Todd Pletcher with Joel Rosario aboard. He exceeded his plan with a solid going 9f last out and should appreciate the added distance. Rosario scores at a 21% win clip with the Todd Squad and should give a strong account of himself today.

Race#11 – The G2 Del Mar Hcp -1 3/8 on the turf – 10:00pm

BetPTC.com Analysis /#4 – United / #8 – Arklow / #5 -Masterofthehounds

#4 United is a perfect 5 for 5 ITM at DM as Mandella and Prat team up with a 57% win clip as a team. A close to the pace stalker should be right in the catbird seat poised to pounce. Exist a win in the G2 Eddie Read making the 2nd off the layoff move. Loves the track and the connections are hot. Must use in exotics and straight wagers. #8 Arklow hails from the hot Brad Cox barn with Florent Geroux in the saddle. He is 1 for 1 at DM and ships in from the G1 United Nations at Monmouth as a heavily bet player. The distance should be fine as Geroux is a master at getting a horse to relax. Flo and Team Cox win 33% as a team. Toss out the last race after clipping heels and stumbling during the race. Major Player. #5 Masterofthehounds comes off a two month break and Richard Baltas knows how to get them ready. Kent Desormeaux is in the irons and he is winning at a 17% clip on the turf. This guy has to bring his A+ game to compete today and should be a player for the exotic wagers.
