Race#5 – The G3 Suwanee River – 1 mile on the turf – 1:54 pm
BetPTC.com Analysis / #10 – Sweet Melania / #3 – Shifty She / #2 – In a Hurry
#10 Sweet Melania is a daughter of American Pharoah from the Todd Pletcher barn with John Velasquez aboard. She’s a stalking type who is 9 for 13 ITM on the turf. Coming off a two month layoff from KEE and was a beaten favorite that day. The barn comes back to win 26% on this move and has the look of being right on the pace. Johnny V can get her in a comfortable spot and wins 16% with early style turf runners. Her dam Sweet N Discreet has 2 starters, 2 winners, and 2 turf winners to her credit. #3 Shifty She is a speedy gal from the Saffie Joseph barn with Edwin Gonzalez in the irons. There are winning 30% as a team, and I’m looking for a quick break from the gate to wire the field. Gonzalez is a good rider for a quick runner as he wins 29% with speedy turf runners. Catch her if you can. #2 In a Hurry is a daughter of Blame for Shug McGaughey with Javier Castellano in the saddle. She is 2 for 3 ITM at GP and should be right off the leaders. She’s 7 for 11 ITM on the turf and her dam Scampering has 3 starters, 3 winners, and 2 turf winners under her belt.
Race#8 – The G3 Sugar Swirl – 6f – 3:28 pm
BetPTC.com Analysis / #5 – Center Aisle / #3 – Frank’s Rockette / #4 – Loriloupies
#5 Center Aisle is a speedy filly from the Paulo Lobo barn with Luis Saez calling the shots. 3rd start off the layoff and is 1 for 1 at GP. She cuts back in distance and owns some solid works moving forward. Saez wins 21% with early speed and should be dictating the pace today. She ships in from CD and Lobo wins 23% with runners in new surroundings. #3 Frank’s Rockette is a daughter of Into Mischief and has a stalking style for Bill Mott. Junior Alvarado gets the nod as she makes her third off the shelf effort. Add in some sharp works and she’s a player in here. #4 Loriloupes is a speedy gal for Saffie Joseph, and is 8 for 11 ITM over the GP course. John Velasquez in the saddle and he’ll be sending right from the break. She was a beatne chalk last out and sports a sharp work making her 2nd off the shelf move today.
Race#9 – The G3 Harlan’s Holiday – 1 1/16 – 3:59 pm
BetPTC.com Analysis / #6 – Fearless / #1- Mighty Heart / #5 – South Bend
#6 Fearless late running son of Ghostzapper for Todd Pletcher and Luis Saez. 2nd off the layoff for this horse for the course who is 4 for 4 ITM over the course. She’s been a beaten favorite the past efforts and looks to turn the tables with new rider Saez in the irons. Rider and trainer are 3 wins from 4 starts as a team in the past few weeks and looks to launch a late bid when the real running begins. #1 Mighty Heart is a speedy runner from the inside post for Josie Carroll and John Velasquez. With the tight run into the first turn look for Johnny V to establish a lead and nurse the speed as far as he can. He’s coming off an impressive win in the G2 Autumn at Woodbine and looks solid coming into the race. #5 South Bend is a closer from Bill Mott barn with Tyler Gaffalione in the saddle. Mott is winning 27% at the meet and hooking up with Tyler G may help his causes as he’ll uncork a rally around the far turn looking for a clean trip in the lane.
Race#10 – The G2 Ft. Lauderdale – 1 1/8 on the turf – 4:32 pm
BetPTC.com Analysis / #12 Space Traveller / #2 – L’Imperator / #6 – Renaissance Frolic
#12 Space Traveller hails from the Brendan Walsh barn with Tyler Gaffalione in the saddle. He exits the G1 Keeneland Turf Mile and will have to overcome the outside break. He sports a bullet work at Palm Meadows and gets added distance to uncork his late run on the far turn. Tyler G wins 18% with turf closers and his last work shows everything is full speed ahead off a two month vacation. #2 L’Imperator goes postward for Chad Brown and John Velasquez. Late runner cutting back in distance and ships in from AQU. Brown wins 27% with his shippers, and looks to be on course for a solid account of himself today. #6 Renaissance Frolic lines up for Saffie Joseph and Edwin Gonzalez. They are winning 30% as team, and come off a three month break to his home surface where he is 8 for 16 ITM. A speedy runner who can also rate when asked. Gonzalez wins 29% with his early runners on the turf.
